Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Guides in the Underground Area

When they reached Team 3, he saw that all of the other soldiers that went to other areas were already all with Team 3.

"Team 3, have you determined how large the area covered in shielding device is?"

"Yes, General. The area is approximately 200 kilometers square," The team captain of Team 3 replied.

"Wow, they put a shielding device in such an appropriate size that won’t be noticed by our monitoring system. No wonder we didn’t notice anything even though we are also patrolling this planet," Lieutenant General Ren said.

While all of them were communicating through their mecha devices Ryzel was silently listening to them.

He heard Layton Lewis arranging their formation in investigating what is inside the shielding device.

He also saw that they all let out their quantum beasts in their juvenile form. Their communication device would stop working as soon as they entered the area so they should be using their quantum beast for communication.

Quantum beasts could understand other quantum beast however humans could only understand their own quantum beasts so they could use them for communication even as long as they have their quantum beast.

He also saw Maximus and unlike his original form he became really cute and fluffy with his juvenile form.

Afterwards, they all entered the area with a shielding device. As soon as they entered the fluctuation of the communication device they had, had suddenly stopped.

"Oh, the communication device is not working already."

"Yes, their shielding device is strong enough that it can even block our military device that are configured to resist such shielding so it could be seen that they really spend a lot of effort in their shieling devices. However, they didn’t put any detecting devices at the edge of their shielding device."

"They really, didn’t put any detecting devices here? It seems that they aren’t afraid of being discovered. I really wanted to know what they are hiding inside."

Layton Lewis and the other soldiers acted cautiously but they were still moving fast while observing their surroundings.

The area that they were in was just like the other forest areas and Ryzel couldn’t see anything suspicious aside from their cut off signal.

Ryzel saw a blue eagle flying to them and afterwards maximus conveyed something to Layton Lewis.

"What did it say?"

"Lieutenant General Ren reported that there seems to be an underground area where they are. They found what seemed to be the entrance as there were a lot of detecting devices nearby."

"Tell them to disable the devices and start investigating what’s underground we would follow shortly," Layton Lewis said, and Maximus conveyed it to the blue bird which disappeared in a flash after receiving Maximus message.

They also started going to where Lieutenant General Ren is. When they arrived, they saw 2 teams left guarding the entrance. So, they didn’t live anybody from their team and also rushed underground.

As soon as they entered the underground, they heard a commotion nearby. Layton Lewis rushed to the area and saw Lieutenant General Ren and the others subduing some people with skull tattoos on their cheeks.

"Who are they?" Ryzel asked.

"Based on their tattoos they should be the Black Skull Pirates. However, they should have been eliminated already 5 years ago," Layton Lewis said coldly.

"They were eliminated?"

"Yes, they should have been eliminated according to the report, but it seemed that some of them still survived."

Layton Lewis didn’t participate in subduing the pirates because all the soldiers he brought were all very good. As soon as they saw some pirates coming, they immediately disable them. So, Layton Lewis followed after the others while looking around the underground facility.

The facility could only be said to be decent, however he also knew that it was lacking a lot of things.

While they were going inside the underground facility became narrower so all of them put their mechas back in their space and started exploring by themselves.

Layton Lewis put maximus back to his space but before that he told Ryzel to open his protective cover so as not to be accidentally harmed by anything.

Ryzel complied and opened his protective cover which just look like a translucent cover around him.

After putting away their mechas the sentinels explored the underground faster and also disabled any detecting devices and all the pirates they saw around. Ryzel couldn’t keep up with their speed, so he just let Layton Lewis carry him.

After exploring the underground, they finally found the places that were heavily protected by the pirates.

They dealt with all the pirates, while dealing with them Ryzel could see that the pirates in the area seemed to be the strongest batch and also the craziest.

They all resisted the soldiers and even dared to attack him; however, they couldn’t do anything as he was well protected by Layton Lewis.

Their resistance is also futile against the ninth army which was used to fighting Zergs who were several stronger than the pirates.

After making sure that all the pirates were incapacitated, they opened the area which was heavily protected by the pirates.

As soon as they opened the door Ryzel was stunned by the scene he saw.

"B*tch how dare you resist." A pirate said while grabbing a guide who was obviously resisting with her quantum beast.

"Don’t you dare touch my sister!" screamed someone.

Before he could grab the guide, he was immediately shot by Lieutenant General Ren.

After the pirate was dealt with Ryzel could finally process what he was seeing. Ryzel could immediately tell that there were 114 guides in the room and they were all locked in a cell.

Some were huddled together, and some were just sitting around with numb faces even though they were in the same cell.

Some were also in individual cells. It was most likely those that have a grit to fight just like the one who just shouted and the one he saw resisting the pirate a while ago because he could see that one cell was open without anyone in it.

He could see that most of them were actually malnourished, and he could also see some undesirable marks from some of the guides, especially those with already numb expressions.

As soon as the pirate fell down the guide who was resisting stood up.

"Who are you people?" she warily asked while holding her quantum beast.

Ryzel could see that almost all the sentinels were agitated by the sight they were seeing. He could also feel some fluctuations in Layton Lewis’ mental sea.

He was also feeling uncomfortable from what he was seeing but he knew that in this situation he should be the one coming forward.

Ryzel knew that they had already seen their military uniform, but they were still wary about them so as a guide it is better for him to come forward.

"Layton, let me down," he requested, and Layton Lewis also let him down immediately.

"Hello, we are from the ninth army. This is General Layton Lewis and his soldiers we will be taking you out from here. May I ask if you have any more companions aside from everyone here?" Ryzel said gently.

"No, we are the only one in here," the girl answered while still looking at them warily. However, Ryzel could see that her wariness lessened as soon as he heard that they were from the ninth army.

"I see thank you very much. We will be taking you out in a moment. But before please listen to me for a bit," Ryzel said and took out his flute from his space.

The sentinels they were with were all agitated, which wasn’t good. He could also see that the mental conditions of the guides were very poor. So, he needed to soothe them out a bit for them to calm down.

Ryzel started playing a very soothing melody while transmitting his mental power with it. After finishing the song, he saw that the sentinels were finally calm, and the guides had finally started looking at them even those who have numb expressions.

Fortunately, he has a high mental power level if not he couldn’t effectively give a bit of guidance to the guides inside.

"I think it is better for you to contact the battleship. It is better to have the assistance of the guides from the medical center," Ryzel said while looking at Layton Lewis.

He looked at the guides and saw that they were still wary of them. He could see that they were a bit relieved, but no one had said any thank you or cried because they were rescued. It is obvious that they still doubt them, so it is better to let other guides take care of them.

With their numbers he can’t escort all of them out, so it was better to just call the battleship here. They already removed the shielding device and also destroyed the pirates underground so there were at least no more safety issues for the time being.
