After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic-Chapter 801: Secretary Zuo, You Really Know a Lot
Jace looked full of anticipation: "Secretary Zuo, if I use sunscreen, will I be as fair as you?"
Zuo Hong’s face remained unchanged, his tone certain: "You will."
Grace Watt looked skeptical: "Secretary Zuo, I haven’t read much, don’t fool me."
Sitting a table away, Isabella Weaver couldn’t hear what they were muttering about, but she could clearly see their attempts at applying sunscreen.
She was struggling to suppress her laughter: "Honey, look at David’s face."
Harry Hunter had already noticed.
Most sunscreens are quite pale, and on Isabella’s skin, it goes unnoticed. But when David and a few of them applied it, their dark skin looked as if they had layered on putty, and their uneven application technique made them resemble patched cats from afar, quite comical.
However, being able to amuse Isabella to such an extent counted as a good deed for them—they would each receive double bonuses later.
Harry Hunter glanced at Zuo Hong, noticing that the mastermind appeared calmer than anyone else, couldn’t resist a smile.
Zuo Hong, who appeared indifferent like someone devoid of character, blinking very little, turned out to be quite sly, his mind filled with mischievous ideas.
Occupied with eating, Zuo Hong didn’t know his superior had labeled him as "indifferent," and after persuading David and the others to apply sunscreen, he quickly paid no mind, while Jace continued asking him eagerly about whitening, to which he casually responded.
Jace looked at him with admiration: "As expected from a top university graduate, Secretary Zuo, you know so much!"
David and Grace Watt were impressed, though confused.
Regardless, whatever professional terminology Zuo Hong said, none of them understood, but a scholar is a scholar, and even their speech carries an aura.
The most commendable thing is that scholars never belittle them, who are academic underachievers, and his words are always humble, his voice calming, neither hurried nor slow, which makes him likeable.
Zuo Hong genuinely held no biases against them, occasionally teasing them was just for fun, not ill-intentioned, he truly appreciated Harry Hunter’s bodyguards, straightforward and loyal, being with them allowed him to completely relax, which was the greatest joy outside work.
The lunch soon ended, Harry Hunter rented an open-air pool, taking Isabella Weaver for swimming and sunbathing.
They bought the swimsuits on the spot, as Isabella saw a roadside shop selling them and picked one randomly.
The bodyguards were responsible for security, naturally they wouldn’t swim, and Harry Hunter disliked them being too close, so he sent them away.
He was quite possessive, unwilling for anyone else to see Isabella in a swimsuit.
Isabella lay on a deck chair soaking up the sun, while Harry Hunter applied sunscreen all over her body.
A nineteen-year-old girl, with smooth, supple skin, Harry Hunter considered applying sunscreen for her an enjoyment.
Isabella enjoyed it even more, with Eldest Young Master Hunter personally applying sunscreen for her, something others couldn’t even dream of.
"Don’t you have work this afternoon?"
"I do."
Isabella sat up abruptly: "Then why are you here wasting time?"
Harry Hunter smoothed sunscreen on her shoulder, his tone light and joyful: "How can spending time with you be called a waste? My greatest drive to work is that it enables me to provide a quality life and gives me the confidence to support you." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Balancing work and life is inherently challenging, and he didn’t want to be merely a money-making machine, accompanying Isabella sunbathing, teaching her to swim, allowing him to truly feel alive, to happily live.
