After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic-Chapter 761: Go Tell My Mom Yourself
Isabella shook her head, "I can’t always be following you."
He was probably afraid she’d get bullied again, wanting to take her everywhere he went.
Feeling warm inside, she looked up and kissed his perfect chin, her voice gentle, "I’m fine, just focus on your work, I’ll wait for you to come back."
"No way, you have to come with me."
Harry was very worried something might happen to her if she’s alone in the country. If he was overseas, it would be impossible to rush back immediately.
"This business trip might take a week, it’s too long; how can I manage without you by my side?"
He had never been separated from her for this long, so he was determined to take her abroad with him.
"Precisely because it’s too long, I can’t go with you. As the CEO, I’m already facing criticism; if I’m always absent from the company, the people below will say even more idle gossip! Plus, our new products for next quarter are about to start production; how can I not be here?"
"Don’t worry about idle talk; as for work, you can work remotely while abroad, with video calls being so convenient now."
Harry pinched her chin and whispered in her ear, "Didn’t you want to have a baby? This week is a crucial time; you have to be with me."
Isabella’s face flushed red as she pinched his waist, "We’ll discuss this later at home."
David was still driving in front; if he overheard, she’d be incredibly embarrassed.
By the time they got home, it was only half-past five, and the sky was still bright.
Isabella fed the fish and then went to feed the parrots. Originally, these little animals were meant to be gifts for Cora Ginger and Peter Barnes, but she decided to keep them herself.
Fortunately, the big fish turned out to be easier to care for than the little ones. The pair of koi lived contentedly in the large fish tank, spending their days either eating or blowing bubbles. Isabella envied their carefree lives.
The parrots lived even more comfortably, constantly sticking together and squawking.
Yet, these two surprisingly couldn’t talk, no matter how much Isabella taught them, which is when she realized why they were so cheap.
The maid was busy preparing dinner, and the house was filled with the aroma of food.
Harry changed into a casual outfit Isabella bought him and accompanied her to feed the birds.
From behind, he wrapped his arms around her waist, persistently asking, "Are you coming with me or not? Can you bear to be apart from me for so long? Do you not love me anymore? Even the parrots are getting better treatment now!"
Isabella chuckled, holding up bird food to his mouth, "Then I’ll feed you this, will you eat it?"
Harry immediately opened his mouth, startling Isabella!
She quickly withdrew her hand, returning the bird food to the bag, and patted Harry, "You’re actually going to eat it! You’re such a mischief!"
Harry hugged her and kissed her ear, "I’d even eat poison if you fed it to me."
Isabella’s heart softened instantly, and she turned around to hug him, "Harry."
"Hmm?"
"I really like you!"
Harry’s lips curled up, "What? I didn’t hear you clearly."
Isabella playfully gave him a glance, and said softly, "You definitely heard it!"
"Hmm, I heard it. You like me."
Harry stroked her long hair and chuckled lightly, "Then why not accompany me on the business trip?"
"That’s a different matter!"
Isabella stomped her foot in frustration, "If you’re traveling all the time, am I just supposed to do nothing and follow you everywhere?"
"What’s wrong with following me around? I think it’s great."
"Moonlight Jewelry is my mom’s life’s work, she’s always wanted to acquire Weaver Clan Watch, and now I’ve merged the bankrupt Weaver Clan into it, it’s the perfect time for expansion. As the CEO, I can’t be irresponsible."
Isabella lightly punched his chest, "Why don’t you go tell my mom yourself?"
