After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 79: A group of conscienceless people, why bother giving them face?!
At this moment, Su Ziye’s arrogant demeanor persisted. Facing Su Xiyang, she showed not the slightest hint of regret or guilt. Instead, her fighting spirit only grew as she stared back at Su Xiyang, eyes wide with defiance.
"Why?" Su Xiyang couldn’t accept this reality. This was her own relative, yet she wanted to make her life a living hell.
Su Ziye said dismissively, "I, Su Ziye, do things my way. Do I need to explain myself to you? Are you even worthy?"
Shen Fanyun was speechless. This woman... she’s truly stubborn as hell.
Su Ziye was related to Su Xiyang, and Su Xiyang still hadn’t composed herself. This was the only reason Shen Fanyun couldn’t overstep his bounds and make the decision for her. Otherwise, given his fiery temper, he would have dealt with this wretch long ago. Just looking at her felt like it was polluting his eyes.
Su Ke, Chen Wen, and a crowd of family members appeared much faster than Su Xiyang could have imagined. After just one phone call, the Su family members had all arrived. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"Ziye? Are you alright?"
"Thank heavens you’re finally safe! Otherwise, how could a simple woman like me live out the rest of my days?" Chen Wen rushed to Su Ziye’s side, looking her up and down. After confirming Su Ziye was truly unharmed, the weight on her heart finally lifted.
Su Ke also rushed toward Su Ziye, not even sparing Su Xiyang a glance along the way. It was painfully obvious who he favored.
"What could possibly happen to me?" Su Ziye shrugged, completely at ease.
"Yes, yes, as long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters," Chen Wen nodded hurriedly. She took Su Ziye’s arm and said, "Come on, let’s go home together."
"We’ll have a proper welcome-home celebration for you to wash away all this bad luck!"
Su Ke gave Su Ziye a firm, reassuring hug, his eyes filled with doting affection.
This was something Su Xiyang had dreamed of countless times. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, no matter how desperately she worked to please Su Ke, the old man had never once given her so much as a smile. People truly are different!
"And where do you think you’re going?" Shen Fanyun blocked Su Ke and Chen Wen’s path.
Su Ziye shot Shen Fanyun a furious glare, a clear warning.
Shen Fanyun said, "Why don’t you confess what you’ve done."
"This is the Su Family’s business. What does it have to do with you?" Su Ziye clearly hadn’t realized the true implications of her actions.
He turned to Su Xiyang. "File a police report."
Su Ziye fell silent. The suggestion finally caused a flicker of panic in her, and she furrowed her brows, deep in thought.
Strictly speaking, her actions had already broken the law. If Su Xiyang was determined to see this through to the end, she would likely face jail time. Su Ziye was a pampered princess, raised in the lap of luxury her whole life. How could she possibly go to a place like that? And what’s more, she would lose her freedom!
"Are you trying to start something?" Su Ziye demanded of Shen Fanyun. Seeing him unmoved, she immediately turned to threaten Su Xiyang. "Go on, report it. I dare you.
"Su Xiyang, I hope you understand what you’re doing!
"Don’t make an irrational decision that will turn everyone against you. If you do, all that awaits you is a lifetime of regret and remorse!"
Su Xiyang’s hands dropped limply to her sides. This ordeal had shattered her worldview. Many things she had clung to, like familial love, now seemed meaningless. "Kin?"
A smile touched Su Xiyang’s lips—part self-mockery, part defiance.
"Do any of you still have any affection for me? You? Grandpa? Or my aunt and uncle? Do you?"
For a moment, Su Ziye was speechless.
It was Su Ke who grew impatient. "Ziye is safe now, so what is there left to complain about? What is all this nonsense you’re spouting? Have I been too lenient with you?"
"All of you, come home with me!" Su Ke commanded, assuming his usual authoritarian air.
"Have you decided? Are you going to report it or not?" Shen Fanyun prompted Su Xiyang again.
Su Xiyang nodded solemnly. "I’ll report it."
Su Ziye was utterly panicked. If this incident blew up, she would definitely be implicated. She had to stop Su Xiyang, no matter what. "Su Xiyang, are you insane?" Su Ziye roared.
Su Xiyang ignored her, pulling out her phone and starting to dial. At the same time, Shen Fanyun stepped aside and gestured to Su Ziye. "This doesn’t concern you anymore. You can go home happy now!"
Su Ziye was speechless. How could she possibly be in the mood to go home now? She knew what Shen Fanyun was trying to get her to do: confess her own misdeeds, apologize to Su Xiyang, and beg for forgiveness.
After a moment of hesitation, feeling she had no other choice, Su Ziye could only come clean to Chen Wen and Su Ke.
"What?" Chen Wen was incredulous. She couldn’t believe that the day’s turmoil had been orchestrated entirely by Su Ziye. Was this whole thing staged by her?
"You..." Su Ke sighed and shook his head, but he didn’t lose his temper. He reached out, gently tapped Su Ziye on the forehead, and said with feigned admonishment, "Don’t let it happen again."
Su Ziye was pleasantly surprised. She had expected the old man to fly into a rage, but to her astonishment, her grandfather had no intention of pursuing the matter.
"Just think of it as a game. Alright, alright, let’s go home." Chen Wen took Su Ziye’s arm again, ready to leave. The woman didn’t seem to think her daughter’s actions were the least bit outrageous. For her, as long as her own daughter was safe, she couldn’t care less about anyone else’s feelings.
"A game?" Shen Fanyun raised an eyebrow, a cold smile on his face. "She broke the law, and you’re calling it a game?"
"Ma’am, are you just dim-witted, or do you genuinely believe this is no big deal?"
Chen Wen was speechless.
Su Ke was silent.
"Hello? Yes, I’d like to report a crime." Su Xiyang was already on the phone. Su Ziye’s face instantly drained of color, and she lunged forward, trying to snatch the phone away.
Shen Fanyun sneered. "I dare you to move another inch."
"Report what? What do you think you’re doing, Su Xiyang?" Su Ke demanded. "Ziye just had a moment of foolishness and did something she shouldn’t have, but both you and she are perfectly fine now."
"Since that’s the case, I’ll make the final decision. We’ll leave it at that. Everyone, come home with me!"
Su Xiyang paid Su Ke no mind. This enraged him like never before. He pointed a finger at her, scolding her furiously and demanding that she see the error of her ways and stop this instant.
"Grandpa," Su Ziye pleaded. She knew things had gotten out of hand. Her only hope now was to appeal to Su Ke for help.
Su Ke habitually asserted his authority, putting pressure on Su Xiyang. "Su Xiyang, if you dare defy my orders today, I will expel you from the Su Family!"
"From this day forward, you will never set foot in the Su Family home again! I, your elder, mean what I say!"
Su Xiyang gave a bleak smile. That place holds no warmth for me. Can it even be called my home? If it can’t, then being expelled or not doesn’t matter at all.
