After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 133: Has the Hong Family Reached Their End?!
Hong Tianzhao was eager for a fight, his expression showing little concern.
If Shen Fanyun really couldn’t withstand a single blow, wouldn’t it have been a waste for him, Hong Tianzhao, to have personally rushed back from the Capital City?
"Well, that’s good then." Hong Danggui felt a great sense of relief. With her uncle’s assurance, Shen Fanyun was surely doomed tonight.
COUGH! COUGH!
After getting back on his feet, Chen Lie coughed up another mouthful of crimson blood, presenting a terrifying sight.
He looked around. Perhaps feeling this pathetic state was unbecoming of his status as a big shot from the Capital City, he composed himself and spoke with feigned casualness. "Boy, I took pity on your youth and couldn’t bear to kill you."
"Therefore, I held back. Who would have thought a little beast like you would be so ruthless!"
"Rest assured, this time, we won’t give you any opportunity to exploit an opening!"
Another sore loser?
"It seems my assessment of you, the so-called big shot from the Capital City, was skewed. Not only are you all bark and no bite, but you’re a sore loser too."
Shen Fanyun took another step forward, closing the distance to the crowd.
His gaze swept over the only two remaining powerhouses, Xu Tai and Hong Tianzhao.
"Let’s not waste any more time, shall we?"
"How about you two come at me together?"
The crowd was left speechless. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
How arrogant and conceited could he be? To think he intended to take on both Hong Tianzhao and Xu Tai by himself... wasn’t that a death wish?
Everyone knew that both Xu Tai and Hong Tianzhao were renowned experts in their own right. In Hangcheng City, either one of them could sweep through most opposition.
One against two?
"Kid, are you out of your mind?" Xu Tai said haughtily, his hands clasped behind his back. "If not for Mr. Chen cherishing your talent and giving you an opening..."
"You’d already be a corpse on the ground by now!"
Shen Fanyun remained unfazed. "Come at me together."
"It’ll save you from making excuses when you lose, like claiming you underestimated me, didn’t use your full strength, or accusing me of using underhanded schemes."
Xu Tai was rendered speechless.
Chen Lie had nothing to say.
While those words might not have elicited a strong reaction from Xu Tai or Hong Tianzhao, for Chen Lie, they were a stinging slap to the face.
In reality, Chen Lie knew better than anyone whether he had truly held back out of a desire to spare talent.
"Something is off with this kid. You need to be careful," Chen Lie warned Xu Tai, turning his head.
Xu Tai was a veteran. He could already tell that Shen Fanyun was no ordinary person. If he didn’t take this seriously, he would end up just like Chen Lie.
"Hmph, I’ll see what you’re made of!"
With a fierce shout, Xu Tai shot forward, leaping three meters into the air before diving straight toward his target. His astonishing agility made the audience gasp.
This was the extraordinary power of a martial artist, something beyond the comprehension of ordinary people.
Xu Tai descended on Shen Fanyun like a massive cannonball, unleashing his full speed, explosive power, and impact.
In that moment, the sheer force of the attack seemed to warp the very air, pulling at Shen Fanyun’s body until it distorted. His figure blurred, enveloped by Xu Tai’s terrifying fist as if trapped in a pocket dimension with no way out.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
These were true shockwaves. Xu Tai’s speed was so extreme that it seemed to etch sound into the void, creating visible white streaks that cut off all of Shen Fanyun’s escape routes.
There was no escape. He could only meet the attack head-on.
BOOM!
Shen Fanyun also threw a punch, unleashing a burst of golden light.
Suddenly, Xu Tai’s attack froze in place. He watched, wide-eyed, as a golden fist exploded against his cheekbone.
CRACKLE! CRACK!
In that instant, the seams on Xu Tai’s clothes burst open, and his skin became riddled with wounds. Like a kite with its string cut, he was sent flying.
The world fell silent as Xu Tai crashed to the ground.
Even Hong Tianzhao, who had been so eager to fight just moments before, stared with wide-eyed disbelief at the kneeling Xu Tai. All his previous composure was gone.
This... He’s been defeated too?
Xu Tai’s martial skill was a level higher than Chen Lie’s.
Yet, he still couldn’t withstand a single exchange with Shen Fanyun.
That’s right. Shen Fanyun had faced Chen Lie and then Xu Tai, and he had defeated them both with a single move each. One move was all it took.
A sharp gasp cut through the silence. It was followed by a wave of others, the sound rolling in like a tide.
"You!" Xu Tai had to remain kneeling to manage the excruciating pain racking his body. He couldn’t believe this young man possessed such monstrous combat strength. What’s more, he only used one move. If he were fighting at his peak, just what level of power would he be at? How could a master like this emerge from a place like Hangcheng City?
Shen Fanyun lit another cigarette. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he walked leisurely to the center of the grounds, where the crowd had gathered.
Hong Tianzhao’s face was cold. "Are you determined to make an enemy of my Hong Family tonight?"
Shen Fanyun nodded. "Yes."
Hong Tianzhao was at a loss for words.
This kid is being utterly disrespectful.
Hong Tianzhao’s hands clenched into fists. Despite the towering rage inside him, he didn’t dare to strike. He was worried that he, too, wasn’t Shen Fanyun’s match.
Standing behind Hong Tianzhao, Hong Danggui couldn’t help but gasp.
Even with Hong Tianzhao there, Hong Danggui couldn’t stop shivering, especially when Shen Fanyun’s gaze swept over her.
She immediately hung her head, avoiding his eyes.
"Now, are you going to bring out the person I’m looking for?" Shen Fanyun asked, exhaling a cloud of smoke in Hong Tianzhao’s direction.
"The person you’re looking for isn’t here!" Hong Tianzhao declared righteously. "And I have no idea what you’re talking about."
Shen Fanyun’s gaze passed over Hong Tianzhao and settled on Hong Danggui. "It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand, Hong Tianzhao. All that matters is that your dear niece does."
At being singled out so directly, Hong Danggui was so frightened she stumbled back several steps, putting distance between herself and Shen Fanyun.
Even though she was surrounded by people from her Hong Family, with her own uncle present, Hong Danggui was still terrified. She was afraid of Shen Fanyun’s gaze, afraid of his attention!
Only then did Hong Tianzhao recall Hong Danggui mentioning she had arranged for some local beauties to keep Chen Lie and Xu Tai company tonight.
Could one of them be Shen Fanyun’s friend?
"Danggui!" Hong Tianzhao commanded.
Seeing now that Shen Fanyun was not someone to be trifled with, Hong Tianzhao decided the best course of action was to give him whatever he wanted. As for what came next, their top priority was getting this scourge to leave.
Furthermore, Shen Fanyun had proven he was no nobody. From now on, the Hong Family would have to steer clear of him to avoid any more trouble.
"I don’t know which one he’s looking for, but... it’s fine. I’ll bring them all out."
