Chapter 1893: He Will Be Dealt With Our Way

Grey, the reason Elder Pondwyn was unable to escape, was currently beside Sir Astarot. This was the only place he felt peace, not just that, but he was also injured from his exchange with Elder Pondwyn. Luckily Sir Astarot and the others arrived in time, else he would have not been able to keep Elder Pondwyn there any longer.

His battle with Elder Pondwyn reminded him of the gap between himself and a Peak Sovereign. A Ninth stage Sovereign was within his abilities, but a Peak Sovereign would be able to kill him if given sufficient time. It would not be easy, but they would definitely be able to.

The Toad Clan Leader looked at Elder Pondwyn with cold eyes as he asked, “How could you betray the Clan?”

“I did not betray our Clan, I was barely buying us a way out of this. Do you think the humans would win?” Elder Pondwyn scoffed, “They are weak, not decisive enough. The humans will eventually fall to them, and our stance in this war will determine our outcome.”

Elder Pondwyn’s words only further infuriated the Toad Clan Leader, “You are nothing but a disgrace.”

Magical Beasts are straightforward creatures and they do not usually stoop to cunning means to survive. Most Magical Beasts would rather fight someone head on than use cunning means to defeat them.

“I did it for our Clan.” Elder Pondwyn did not change his stance even when seeing that his Clan Leader was enraged.

Still irate, the Toad Clan Leader said, “From the way I see it, you are only doing this for yourself.”

Elder Pondwyn wanted to continue speaking when one of the Toads with the Toad Clan Leader pointed at him saying, “You deserve to be tortured for all eternity for desecrating the remains of the former Clan Leader.”

Elder Pondwyn did not even spare the Toad a glance, but he answered either way, “The old Clan Leader is a friend of mine, he would prefer to contribute to our Clan even while dead than to stay buried.”

The Toad Clan Leader could not believe his ears as he looked at Elder Pondwyn as if he was staring good at a stranger. He had known Elder Pondwyn since he was a child, yet this was the first time he was seeing this side of him.

“What happened to you?” He asked, his voice filled with disappointment. He could not even bring himself to be angry at the moment, Elder Pondwyn’s actions disappointed him greatly.

Elder Pondwyn shook his head and said, “You will not understand now, my only hope is that it will not be too late before you do.”

After this statement, everyone sensed a powerful aura brewing in Elder Pondwyn’s body.

“Don’t even dare.” The Toad Clan Leader’s expression drastically as he tried to stop whatever Elder Pondwyn was planning to do. He opened his mouth and a brownish substance shot straight at Elder Pondwyn.

Grey, sensing what Elder Pondwyn was about to do, wanted to retreat, but he noticed Sir Astarot did not panic. Looking forward, in the short time he used to take a peek at Sir Astarot, the brownish substance wrapped around the body of Elder Pondwyn, and the fierce energy that he had built up within the short time was contained.

As soon as Elder Pondwyn was covered by the substance, the substance solidified, keeping Elder Pondwyn sealed inside, unable to move. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Grey did not expect the Toad Clan Leader would be able to incapacitate Elder Pondwyn with just a casual move. Elder Pondwyn did not even have the chance to self-destruct. The simple from the Toad Clan Leader showed Grey the gulf between a Peak Sovereign and a Half God Plane expert.

Elder Pondwyn was in a state where his strength was equal to that of a human Peak Sovereign, yet he still could not fight back against a Half God powerhouse.

The Toad Clan Leader landed beside Elder Pondwyn who was sealed in the solidified substance. Tapping it, the solidified substance shrank, along with the body of Elder Pondwyn.

Grey’s eyes nearly popped out when he saw this. He was well aware of Magical Beasts being able to manipulate their sizes, however, this was the first time he was seeing another Magical Beast manipulating the size of another one.

‘So strong.’ He looked at the Toad Clan Leader in shock. His first impression of the Toad Clan Leader was not the best, but he could not deny the fact that he was a top expert. Now he understood that if Sir Astarot were not there and he was found by the Toad Clan Leader alone, he would have not been able to escape being eaten. At the thought of this, he could gulped down his saliva before moving closer to Sir Astarot.

Elder Pondwyn, who was trapped inside the substance could only watch helplessly as his figure shrank to only a few inches. Opening his mouth, the Toad Clan Leader swallowed the shrunk Elder Pondwyn.

Two mists flew out of Sir Astarot’s nostrils as he looked at the Toad Clan Leader, “Punishment must be served to the betrayer.”

“I’ve told you before, this is an internal matter and we will deal with it the same way we’ve dealt with it over the years, by ourselves.” The Toad Clan Leader snorted coldly.

Grey’s expression changed at the sight of this and he could not help but think of the possibility that the Toad Clan Leader might be in on this too. The Toad Clan Leader can easily get someone of Elder Pondwyn’s strength and make them do their bidding so in case things go sideways, they would have someone to take the blame for them.

Grey was not the only one who had this thought in mind, Sir Astarot and the Clan Leaders of the Phoenix and Snake Clans respectively, felt the same. The Toad Clan Leader wanting to take Elder Pondwyn away only made him look suspicious.
