Adventurer's Guild Café: I Was Wrongfully Exiled by the Saint, So I Will Enjoy My Second Life with My Fluffy Friends-Chapter 4.5 - Silver Wolf King Part 1
(Author’s Note: Today’s Chapter is a bit shorter.)
While eating the dishes laid out before us, I watched the adventurers as they drank and danced.
Everyone seemed to have completely forgotten it was still daytime.
“Hey, Kuna-chan. Are you eating properly?”
The female swordswoman peered into my face.
Her cheeks were flushed as well.
“Yes, it’s delicious.”
The steak Yan-san prepared was incredibly flavorful, with rich juices oozing out with each bite.
Apparently, it’s made from a rare monster’s meat, something you don’t get to eat often.
“That’s good to hear. You’re so thin, Kuna-chan. By the way, you guys… Wait, you’re eating even more heartily than Kuna-chan!”
The swordswoman looked at Lulu and the others, then gave a wry smile.
Each of them was enthusiastically munching on their favorite dishes.
Once again, their mouths were smeared with sauce.
But then, I noticed something unusual—Lala (the light blue one) had stuck her head into a tankard.
Her tiny feet were desperately kicking against the tankard.
Lala loves sweet drinks.
She must have mistaken it for soda or something similar.
“Hey, stop that!”
I hurried to intervene, but it was already too late.
“Piyo~!”
After flailing around, Lala toppled over, tankard and all, onto the table.
Luckily, there wasn’t much alcohol inside, so the table only got a little wet.
“Pii!?”
“Haha, silly little thing, aren’t you?”
The swordswoman laughed as she scooped up the wet little chick.
Lala shook herself vigorously.
She seemed a bit tipsy.
Apologizing, I hastily wiped down the table.
And then, I spotted something concerning.
“Ah!”
Someone’s guild membership card had gotten soaked with alcohol.
It was a silver medal engraved with a shield and the profile of a wolf.
“Oh, it’s fine. Just wipe it off, and it’ll be good as new.”
It seems the medal belonged to the female swordswoman.
“I-I’m really sorry!”
“What are you apologizing for? This medal has even been swallowed by a troll before, so it’s fine. Something like this won’t cause it any damage at all.”
She said this with a laugh.
“Our guild members get medals, but the guild staff use brooches, right?”
Now that she mentioned it, I remembered that all the staff wore brooches engraved with the same pattern on their chests.
“Kuna-chan, don’t you have a brooch?”
“Ah… I’m just a café worker, so I don’t have one.”
“Really? They should give you one. Maybe Simon’s just been too busy and forgot.”
No way, I’m not even a guild staff member—it’d be presumptuous of me.
But then, some adventurers sitting nearby, who had been listening to the conversation, spoke up.
“Considering it’s engraved with the same ‘wolf tribe’ pattern as Kuna-chan’s, there’s no one it would suit better.”
“I mean, the Silver Wolf King is said to be a white wolf tribe man with silver fur.”
“Huh?”
I was startled.

“Really?”
“Yeah, didn’t you know?”
“N-no, I didn’t…”
Now that I think about it, the name is Silver Wolf King so that makes sense.
The symbol of this guild is a beastkin.
“Young lady, that’s not something you can just brush off!”
A dwarf, who had been standing on his chair and downing his drink, spoke with his face flushed red.
“Not knowing the story of the great king of Grantania is a disgrace!”
“I-I’m sorry.”
“I’ll tell you about it now, so listen closely and remember it well!”
What the dwarf went on to share was an ancient legend, one tied to the very founding of this country.
