Adored by Him: My Blissful Days as the Girl Next Door-Chapter 421 - 420 Arranging Work
Shi Yang made a round and by the time he drove to the company, it was already close to closing time.
Xu Hongbin’s office is right next to Qu Chaozong’s, and when Shi Yang knocked and entered the room, he was busy checking the detailed list of goods submitted by the store yesterday.
Upon hearing the noise, Xu Hongbin looked up, "Mr. Shi?"
Shi Yang walked to the guest chair in front of the desk and sat down, "Busy?"
Xu Hongbin asked, "Is there something you need from me?"
Shi Yang nodded, "There’s something I’d like to hear your opinion on."
Xu Hongbin put down his work and stood up from his chair.
Shi Yang also followed suit, and the two walked over to the guest sofa and sat down facing each other.
Apart from the matter with Zhang Jiahui, Xu Hongbin genuinely admired Shi Yang from the bottom of his heart. Previously, it was just superficial contact, and he thought Shi Yang was reliable and broad-minded. Now, having worked under him for a longer time, he’s become increasingly inclined to look up to Shi Yang.
Xu Hongbin proactively asked, "Mr. Shi, what’s the matter?"
Shi Yang said, "Here’s the thing, as you know, I’m currently focusing on running the early childhood education sector. In our company, Chaozi is in charge of managing the maternity and infant specialty store, and Wenda handles training of service attendants and managing store inventory movements. So, I’m considering entrusting the early childhood education sector to you. I want to hear your thoughts."
Upon hearing this, Xu Hongbin was first taken aback, his brows furrowing slightly.
Seeing his reaction, Shi Yang didn’t speak further, giving Xu Hongbin ample time to think.
Xu Hongbin is quite capable, meticulous, responsible, and quick-witted, especially smooth in interpersonal communications. This is precisely why Shi Yang agreed to let him work under him initially.
But likewise, he has a fatal flaw—no decisiveness. Xu Hongbin isn’t someone who can handle things independently; he needs someone to guide and give him orders to then follow through.
And because of this, Shi Yang didn’t immediately give an answer when Zhao Wendada suggested it.
Upon hearing Shi Yang’s intention for him to take charge of the early childhood education sector, Xu Hongbin was pleased, feeling recognized for his work ability, but also somewhat worried about not being able to handle it.
After struggling and deliberating repeatedly, Xu Hongbin honestly said, "Mr. Shi, thank you for your cultivation, but I’m still new to early childhood matters. I’m afraid I may not do well."
Shi Yang was waiting for this remark and comforted, "I understand your concerns, but what I value is your capability. No one can easily excel at a new project right from the start; everything requires gradual exploration. Not even me, I’ve been exploring this area bit by bit."
"The focus of early childhood education lies primarily in the teacher’s teaching level and our communication with the parents. For the teachers, personnel will be sent from headquarters for selection and training, while we need to manage the parent side."
Upon hearing this, Xu Hongbin understood. In the company, employee training is typically managed by Zhao Wendada. If he’s in charge of early childhood education, he can focus solely on communicating with parents, which is his forte. He can certainly handle this, and with Zhao Wendada assisting, he can consult if necessary.
Having sorted this out, Xu Hongbin nodded decisively, "Alright, Mr. Shi, you can trust me with this. I’ll definitely do well."
Shi Yang quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Xu Hongbin may appear gentle and agreeable, yet he’s actually quite stubborn. To get him to work, one needs to follow his lead and assign tasks, otherwise, he won’t willingly commit wholeheartedly to his role.
Accomplishing his goal, Shi Yang reached out to pat Xu Hongbin’s shoulder, "I trust you with this responsibility. Go ahead, continue with your work."
Xu Hongbin escorted Shi Yang to the office door and turned back to work only after he left. Shi Yang, halfway down the hall, turned to glance back at the tightly closed office door, then took out his phone, found Zhao Wendada’s number, and dialed it. As he walked into his own office, closing the door casually, the call connected.
Noise from Zhao Wendada’s end, "Mr. Shi, hold on a moment!"
After a dozen seconds, the phone went quiet, Zhao Wendada asked, "Hey, Mr. Shi."
Shi Yang spoke quietly, even through the office door, "I’ve already discussed what you mentioned with Xiao Xu. Call him and communicate well."
It only took Zhao Wendada two seconds to catch on. Since he was outside, he wasn’t worried about being overheard, and immediately lamented, "Mr. Shi, you can’t just cast me aside! I brought up that suggestion for the company’s benefit, how can you pair me with Xiao Xu like that?"
Shi Yang laughed, "What are you saying? I originally planned this sector for you, but considering your workload, I can’t let Xiao Xu assist you. Having him around eases your burden, so don’t be ungrateful!"
With a bitter smile, Zhao Wendada said, "Mr. Shi, do you actually think I have three heads and six arms? We can’t just corner the capable ones and crush them completely!"
Shi Yang chuckled, "If you want to lighten your load, it’s actually simple, just get Xiao Xu up to speed quickly."
Zhao Wendada replied, "I get it, you just want me to bring Xiao Xu up so you can have another person to exploit."
Shi Yang burst into laughter, praising, "No wonder you’re sharp; you catch onto things instantly. But seriously, if you want to attend the autumn product order conference at headquarters, you need to get Xiao Xu ready in advance. We can’t rely on Chaozi short-term, and if there’s no one managing things, don’t say I won’t let you go!"
Though Zhao Wendada complained verbally, he was secretly pleased. Shi Yang’s remarks directly highlighted his importance in the company, essentially acknowledging his routine work.
Zhao Wendada agreed, "Don’t worry, I’ll give Xiao Xu a call soon and invite him out for a meal, to have a proper talk."
Shi Yang said, "Tonight’s dinner is on the company. I approve a big meal."
Laughing, Zhao Wendada hung up, turned around, and went to call Xu Hongbin to arrange a dinner.
Having handled his affairs, Shi Yang checked the time and sent Zhao Meimei a message, asking when she’d be home.
When Zhao Meimei received the text, she was sitting with Peng Hui in Zhang Xin’s grandfather’s hospital room, accompanying the elderly gentleman in conversation.
When they arrived, Qu Chaozong and Zhang Xin were there, and they weren’t particularly surprised by their visit, warmly welcoming them into the room.
