Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 259: Your Boss Fell in Love with Me at First Sight
After learning how Zane Thorne agreed to Shannon Rhodes in the first place, that small stone in Natalie Vaughn’s heart finally settled down.
Now, she truly doesn’t mind at all. Not only doesn’t she mind, but she even feels a bit sorry for Shannon at the time. Having been lectured by Zane Thorne, who knows if she lost hope in love.
It seems like it, otherwise why would she still be single after so long? But why haven’t she and Quentin Donovan come back yet?
"What do you think those two are up to?"
Zane Thorne wasn’t curious at all about what those two were doing.
"Hungry?"
"Hungry."
She hadn’t eaten yet to prepare this surprise for Zane Thorne, and she was starving.
"Then let’s go back and eat something."
On the way back, it was Zane Thorne leading Natalie Vaughn. Natalie sat at the back, hugging the man’s waist tightly, her head resting on his back.
There was another important reason she learned to ride a motorcycle: she wanted to know how Zane Thorne felt when he raced.
Probably quite different, but the thrill of speed was just like when she sat in Zane Thorne’s race car as a co-driver that time.
She really loved Zane when he was behind the wheel and also loved him when he was on a motorcycle. At these moments, Zane was different.
After returning to the villa, Zane personally grilled meat for Natalie, a scene that company employees had never seen. Yet, they were even more curious about how Natalie managed to win over Zane, so many people surrounded Natalie, almost forming a circle.
"Ma’am, how did you win over the boss?"
Natalie was unaware of their previous conversations and raised her eyebrows in surprise upon hearing this.
"Who told you I was the one who won him over?"
"The boss!"
Natalie propped her chin and looked at the man grilling meat beside her, squinting her eyes with satisfaction. Indeed, if she had to describe her relationship with Zane to outsiders, she preferred to say she was the proactive one, making the move and winning over Zane.
How does her husband understand her so well?
The crowd saw Natalie’s reaction and exchanged glances, unsure of what to say. Why does it seem like the ma’am is quite infatuated with the boss too? Who exactly won whom in this relationship?
"Ma’am, please tell us, don’t keep us in suspense."
Natalie straightened up, cleared her throat, and began to recount her ’glorious achievements.’
"When I found out I was going on a blind date with your boss, I directly went to his bar. I wanted to see what the person I was going to date looked like."
"And then? And then?"
Natalie rolled her eyes.
"He wasn’t at the bar at the time, but later when I was heading back, I ran into three drunks. I left-hooked one, right-hooked another, and took down three grown men."
"Wow, ma’am, that’s amazing! And then what happened?"
"Then your boss was smoking in that alley and happened to see me beat three men so coolly. He was impressed and fell in love with me at first sight."
"Wow!"
Zane, who was grilling the meat, lifted his eyelids and glanced at Natalie when he heard this. Natalie showed no signs of nervousness or guilt, even without preparation when she lied.
"But your boss was shy at the time and didn’t dare to come out and meet me."
The crowd: ...What? The boss shy? Is this really possible? Unsure, they continued to listen.
"Later, I found out your boss’s club was participating in a rally, so I went with my friend. That time, I was determined to meet your boss. Guess what happened?"
"Your boss wasn’t paying attention while walking, tripped over a stone, and fell down, scraping his knee."
The crowd was shocked, some finding it hard to believe as they looked at their boss. Is this real? Could their super cool boss really trip while walking without looking? Hard to believe, but what about the boss’s expression?
Zane couldn’t help but laugh after hearing this twisted narrative. He allowed the grilled meat to cool down, then offered it directly to Natalie’s mouth.
"Eat some before you continue."
Lying takes a lot of effort, especially when telling a story with such deliberation.
Natalie blinked as she noticed Zane didn’t expose her, feeling even more brazen.
After finishing one skewer, she hurriedly added the follow-up.
"When I saw it, I was amused. I thought, how can such a grown man trip while walking? Isn’t he silly?"
The crowd was apprehensive inside, not daring to speak. Who would dare call the boss silly? They wouldn’t, not to mention laughing; they didn’t even dare laugh, having to hold it in, truly uncomfortable!
Zane agreed.
"He is quite silly." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Natalie was just about to continue speaking when she suddenly realized that the one who fell was actually her. Others didn’t know, but Zane did.
So was Zane implying she was silly? Thinking this, Natalie looked up at Zane with a glare, only to see the man smile.
"I’m saying I’m silly, why are you glaring at me?"
He handed over another skewer as he spoke.
Natalie accepted it, eating somewhat aggressively, almost as if she were eating Zane himself. The man’s smile only grew more pronounced watching her.
The crowd was in the dark, only knowing it was uncomfortable to be interrupted halfway through the gossip.
"And then, ma’am?"
"Then I went over to help him up. Who knew he fell so hard that your boss couldn’t walk, and I ended up carrying him to the tent."
The crowd:... Even though the ma’am said it confidently, the story is too far-fetched to believe. The boss, such a tall man, could the ma’am really carry him even if she could take down three men? Also...is the boss really someone who can’t walk after a fall?
Natalie didn’t care whether they believed her or not.
"His phone broke into pieces too, and I secretly took it. Then the next time we met, I returned it to him."
"What was the occasion for the next meeting?"
"A blind date, your boss had something to attend to that day, so I went to the club to pick him up."
Hearing this, Zane couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Everyone looked at him, Natalie frowned unhappily.
Zane placed the remaining skewers into the bowl in front of Natalie, then sat calmly beside her, adding slowly.
"I was the one who suggested she come to pick me up."
It was a bit strange, but it didn’t hinder the story’s fun.
"Wow, so it was mutual love at first sight?"
Zane didn’t answer but looked at Natalie.
After finishing the skewer, Natalie clapped her hands and shook her head.
"Your boss fell in love with me at first sight. I just thought he was quite handsome and wanted to play with him a little."
Hearing this, the crowd became excited.
Play a little? That sounded exciting and saying it directly in front of the person involved was even more thrilling.
Zane leaned back in his chair, one arm resting on Natalie’s chair, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh? How did you plan to play?"
