Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 245: Nina in Danger
Natalie Vaughn is tall and rarely wears high heels. Even when she does, the height is never more than five centimeters. Today, she made an exception and wore a taller pair to match her dress.
She wasn’t very adept at walking in them, but she wasn’t in a hurry, moving slowly with an air of laziness, swaying gracefully as she went.
However, something that unsettled Natalie was how dark the corridor leading to the restroom was, especially the section near the door.
Natalie furrowed her brows and glanced towards the door, vaguely perceiving some obstruction. Though puzzled, she didn’t dwell on it. Zane Thorne would arrive soon, and she needed to quickly tidy up before meeting him.
As she entered the restroom, Natalie instinctively frowned. Something wasn’t right.
Given the importance of this occasion and the guests in attendance, the corridor was unnecessarily dim, and the restroom, meant for guests to freshen up, was even darker.
Natalie’s face turned cold, and she stepped back, quickly placing her hand on the doorframe to prevent it from closing. Within those brief seconds, numerous possibilities raced through her mind, Serena Blackwood’s image appearing vividly.
What on earth is she up to?
Pressing her lips together, Natalie turned to leave. The movement revealed the weakness in her legs, causing her to frown deeply and hold her breath instinctively.
Her focus had been entirely on the lighting in the bathroom, causing her to overlook the strange scent in the restroom.
Looking down, Natalie was about to retrieve her phone from her bag when a man’s voice cut through the air.
"Miss Blackwood, why did you arrange to meet here? Your sister has already secured a room inside for us. Tonight, the three of us will have a good time."
Natalie turned to face the man who had suddenly appeared behind her. Illuminated by the emergency exit lights, his entire face was bathed in green, clearly drunk, his eyes hazy, appearing neither human nor ghostly.
The sight disgusted Natalie, as she couldn’t fathom how Serena Blackwood had chosen such an individual to scheme against.
"Sister? I don’t have a sister."
As she spoke, Natalie’s hands moved behind her back, rapidly tapping on her phone.
"Your sister said you had a little argument. A spat between sisters shouldn’t last too long."
Natalie knew arguing with a drunk was foolish, and she had to hold her breath, rendering her speech limited.
"Then take me to my sister."
Having said that, she bent down to remove her high heels, pretending to lean on the man’s shoulder while actually pushing him out of the restroom.
To deceive President Archer, Serena Blackwood wouldn’t disclose her identity or Natalie’s demeanor, clearly underestimating Natalie’s ability to suppress her noble demeanor and adapt to emergencies upon realizing something was wrong.
"Alright, Miss Blackwood always listens to her sister. Let’s go over now."
As President Archer reached for Natalie’s waist, Natalie pushed him away with a stern expression.
Yet, during their conversation, Natalie had inhaled quite a bit of the restroom’s air, her limbs growing increasingly weak. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Her voice turned cold as she spoke.
"No rush. I need to have a few words with my dear sister."
President Archer, faced with Natalie’s appearance, was willing to tolerate her temper. Moreover, the drunken man was eager for the forthcoming beauty and the company of Serena Blackwood, who he had once pursued fervently.
Despite the heated environment, walking barefoot on the cold ground offered clarity, thanks to the chill.
Where Serena Blackwood obtained such drugs was unknown. They rendered Natalie weak, and now her head began to spin.
While fending off President Archer, she discreetly opened the chat window with Seraphina Sutton, tapping into the real-time location sharing option Seraphina had sent earlier.
Natalie had barely walked a few steps before collapsing on the ground, weak and limp.
President Archer immediately squatted beside her.
"Miss Blackwood, are you alright? Legs gave out? Let me lift you."
He extended his hands toward Natalie.
Feeling dizzier by the moment, Natalie understood she needed to activate the real-time location sharing with her final effort. She raised her trembling hand, biting down hard on the webbing between her thumb and forefinger.
And then she roared.
"Don’t touch me."
Natalie struggled to retreat, but President Archer interpreted her efforts as a small feigned resistance.
"Your sister said you appear pure but are deeply wanton. Don’t worry. It’s just us here. You can’t stand? I’ll hold you."
Natalie’s arms hung limply, and to maintain clarity, she dug her finger into the wound.
"Do you know who I am?"
"I know, you’re Serena’s sister."
President Archer’s hand gripped Natalie’s waist, drawn in by her intoxicating aroma—a mix of milk, perfume, and alcohol.
Unable to resist, President Archer leaned closer, sniffing like a dog starved for days.
Natalie felt nauseous and spat blood at him.
Anyone considering a threesome likely had peculiar inclinations. Natalie gambled that this man enjoyed rough play. If he initiated it, she’d have half a chance at escape.
President Archer wiped his face in shock.
"Did you just spit at me?"
Natalie sneered coldly.
"Do you believe I’ll kill you?"
Predictably, she provoked the drunk man, who yanked Natalie’s hair.
"Little bitch, just like your sister, trying to play with me?"
He slammed her head against the wall. Gritting her teeth in pain, Natalie stayed calm and pressed the phone screen with trembling fingers.
She was entirely at the man’s mercy now, every move watched.
President Archer reached for Natalie’s phone, only to find it locked.
"What did you do?"
Natalie remained silent, simply glaring at him with a cold smile.
...
Meanwhile, as soon as the car stopped, Seraphina Sutton grabbed her phone, ready to message Natalie. Seeing that Natalie had accepted the location sharing, Seraphina’s smile vanished.
With years of experience, her instincts told her something was off.
"President Thorne, look at this."
Seraphina handed the phone to Zane Thorne, who immediately started calling Natalie upon a quick glance.
"The number you have dialed is switched off."
Zane’s face tightened, and he quickly started calling Felix Langdon while striding forward. Seraphina jogged to press the elevator button.
Ten seconds later, the call connected.
"Finally, you’re coming..."
"Where’s Natalie?"
Felix paused briefly.
"What’s the matter?"
Felix interrupted the conversation around him, getting up to find Natalie. He located the spot where Natalie had been mixing drinks; Theodore Langdon was half-passed out, while Quentin Donovan flirted with a woman nearby.
"Where’s Natalie?"
Quentin froze at Felix’s knitted brow, immediately standing up. He had noticed Natalie’s departure moments before.
As they circled the champagne tower, only Phoebe Quinn was there.
"Where’s Nina?"
Quentin’s grave expression startled Phoebe, causing her to lower her head and glance at the documents on her phone.
"I just got here; Nina should be in the restroom. Why?"
