Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 646 - 656: Without Your Favoritism, I Only Have Obsession 6
After parting ways with Jacob Lee, Chloe Grant walked alone on the street for a long time.
Even though people bustled through the street, she was in her own world, walking alone.
She paid no mind to the surrounding noise.
She kept recalling that sentence Matthew Morgan said when he held her hand.
She kept feeling the power in her palm from when Matthew grasped it, each second tugging at her heart, causing unbearable pain.
She just...
Kept asking herself, "Could I really have been wrong?"
In the end, Chloe didn’t know how she made it home.
The moment she stood at her doorstep, she was stunned, before suddenly coming to her senses.
Earlier, after having dinner with Jacob Lee, he offered to take her home, but Chloe had refused, choosing to walk alone.
As she walked, she somehow ended up back home.
Shaking her head, Chloe felt her starting-to-ache legs and the darkening sky, realizing how far she’d walked.
She sighed, shook her head with her eyes closed, and then sighed several more times before stepping inside.
As she pushed open the door, she heard the formulaic voice of a sports commentator coming from the TV.
Chloe walked in and saw Benjamin Grant sitting on the sofa watching a match.
On the coffee table were some snacks and some Japanese sake.
By now, Benjamin and Jodie Cooper had been back for a while.
Benjamin’s lifestyle was particularly simple; he would go out to play cards or games with friends.
Otherwise, he’d go on short trips for a few days.
Most of the time, he would just be at home, watching TV, playing games, or drinking a bit.
He was quite a homebody.
Sometimes, Chloe would think that Benjamin is quite like her; both are homebodies.
"You’re back?"
Chloe was still lost in thought, but Benjamin had noticed her and waved, "Come over, have a drink."
"Alright."
Chloe’s response surprised Benjamin.
He often asked Chloe to drink with him, but she always refused, and now she agreed so readily.
Chloe had already sat on the sofa to his right, taken another small cup, and filled it with sake.
"Why did you suddenly decide to drink sake?" Chloe asked as she tipped her head back and drank it all in one go.
Sake cups are usually little, so finishing it all at once is a normal amount.
But it has a considerable kick.
"I always drink it; you just didn’t know," Benjamin muttered.
He quite liked drinking.
However, he wasn’t an alcoholic; he would only drink some when the mood struck.
He was aware of his limits, so he would stop when he needed to.
Benjamin still had quite a bit of self-control.
"This wine is good," Chloe said as she poured herself another cup and immediately downed it again.
Benjamin frowned, about to stop her as she was about to refill her third cup, but... his hand paused mid-motion.
He watched as Chloe finished her third cup.
Finally, Benjamin lowered his hand.
Oh well, he thought, better to let her drink her fill than keep it bottled up inside.
The hard-won ease in her depression had faced a sudden heavy blow again.
"Have you really decided to marry someone else?" Benjamin asked.
Chloe put down her empty cup.
She had drunk too quickly, causing her to sway a bit, but her rationality was still intact.
She knew what she was doing, just couldn’t control herself...
