Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 607 - 617: Insomnia 7
When Matthew Morgan’s hand grasped Chloe Grant’s wrist, Chloe’s entire body trembled.
That familiar touch made her heartbeat go wild in an instant.
"Don’t wander off, there are few people living here, even fewer coming and going, you are not sensitive to directions, it’s easy to get lost."
He earnestly reminded her, his voice completely different from his usual coldness.
She didn’t know when it started, but whenever he spoke to her, it was always so gentle, gentle to the point that it made Chloe tremble inside every time.
And afterwards, she couldn’t calm down for a long time.
"Can’t I just walk straight?" Chloe forcefully pulled away his words.
Anger in her heart.
Angry at him, but even angrier at herself.
Angry at herself for never being able to control her own emotions each time.
With just a slight gesture or a gentle word from him, it would stir up a storm in her heart that she tried so hard to keep calm, and she couldn’t settle for a long time afterwards.
Chloe sped up her pace and walked forward.
She really wanted to cry.
Yet she felt utterly useless, tearing up at the slightest provocation, crying at the drop of a hat.
Chloe kept walking forward, the more secluded the path, the deeper she went.
Only when she turned back and couldn’t see him, did she dare to wipe away her tears.
But the more she wiped, the more tears fell.
In the end, she simply squatted down, covered her face, and had a good cry.
It was too sorrowful.
And too torturous.
Even though she liked him so much, she saw him every day, yet she couldn’t have him.
Chloe suddenly regretted, had she given up too easily before?
She thought she could endure the days without him, could be strong enough to draw a clear line with him.
But, then what?
With just a slight move from him, her world turned upside down.
Chloe cried so heartbreakingly, but she didn’t dare to cry out loud, afraid Matthew Morgan on the other side would hear her.
But...
She didn’t know.
Matthew Morgan was afraid she’d get lost, afraid she wouldn’t find her way back.
When she stormed off, he had already quietly followed her.
When she turned back in the alley, he quickly turned around, pressing his body against the wall.
He saw her tears.
He heard her sobbing.
...
Chloe cried for a good while before finally calming herself.
"No, you can’t cry. Calm down!" Chloe wiped her tears clean, stood up, and took several deep breaths.
She sniffed her nose and pinched it gently.
On the other side of the wall, Matthew Morgan quietly listened for a while, then finally stepped away, walking into the distance.
He waited for about twenty minutes before returning to the place.
"Lost again?" He stood nonchalantly at the mouth of the alley, just in time to catch Chloe’s panicked expression.
Before he came, Chloe had just circled the area unsure of the way back, only to find herself returning and running into Matthew Morgan.
Seeing him, Chloe breathed a sigh of relief.
But her face still pretended, "No, I was just about to come back and bumped into you. I’m not a fool."
Chloe muttered, walking towards Matthew Morgan’s direction.
Just as she passed by him...
"Chloe, wait a moment."
Chloe suddenly stopped in her tracks. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
After standing still for a few seconds, Chloe neither turned around nor spoke, acting as if she hadn’t heard anything, and continued to walk forward.
When she returned to the tent’s position, Ralph Koch had already changed his clothes.
He was only wearing beach shorts, too lazy even to put on a shirt.
Seeing Chloe and Matthew Morgan return one after the other was quite surprising.
