Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 548: Uncle Morgan, You Owe Me an Explanation 8
Benjamin looked at Chloe Grant, completely unable to understand, "So, youβre going to keep being everyoneβs punching bag? Even if youβre beaten, youβre just going to tolerate it?"
"Iβve said it, this matter ends here!" Chloe Grant said. π³ππ²ππ πππ»πΌπ§π²π₯.πππ¦
"You might be able to endure it, but I canβt!" Benjamin insisted, glaring at Thea Yates, about to speak...
"I said, let this matter rest! This is my issue!" Chloe Grant held onto him tightly.
Benjamin lowered his head, shock and disbelief in his eyes.
After a moment, he suddenly let out a cold laugh, "Right, and who am I to you? What right do I have to meddle in your affairs? I donβt have the time to care either!"
With his final words, Benjaminβs expression darkened, then he forcefully shook off Chloe Grantβs hand and turned to leave.
"Benjamin..." Jodie Cooper called out to him, but Benjamin didnβt respond, walking past both Jodie Cooper and Michael Taylor directly towards the exit.
Jodie Cooper turned back to look at Chloe Grant, feeling that Chloe shouldnβt have said such words to Benjamin.
But, now was not the time for Jodie to address this.
She stepped forward to stand in front of Thea Yates, and when no one was paying attention, Jodie took a glass of cold water from the table and threw it directly at Thea Yates!
Thea Yates screamed in surprise, "What are you doing?"
"Because you talked about my brother, so Iβm really pissed off right now! My brother canβt take any insincere comments, everyone knows that!"
Jodie Cooper spoke with neither subservience nor arrogance, giving Thea a taste of her own medicine.
She glanced at Isabella Gray and Mr. Morgan, bowed her head, and said, "Sorry, Grandma Gray, Grandpa Morgan, for letting you witness such a scene. But... Chloe is my best friend, and I wonβt allow her to suffer any grievance. Not even a little!"
Jodie Cooper looked at Chloe Grant, but said nothing more, then turned and left.
Chloe Grant stood where she was.
The look in Jodie Cooperβs eyes as she left burned into her.
As Jodie Cooper exited, Chloe Grant bowed to Isabella Gray and Mr. Morgan, then quickly followed after her.
With Chloe Grant and Jodie Cooper both gone, Michael Taylor felt it was inappropriate to stay, so he said his goodbyes and followed as well.
Isabella Gray and Mr. Morgan exchanged glances.
Mr. Morgan looked at the thoroughly soaked Thea Yates and merely said plainly, "Chloe has been cherished by the Morgan family for ten years, and until now, no one in the family has hit her, nor does anyone dare to!
Because she is the apple of my eye and that of the old lady."
Though earlier when people were present, Mr. Morgan and Isabella Gray seemed to be protecting Thea Yates, they were naturally displeased with Thea for hitting Chloe Grant.
However, Thea Yates was arranged by Matthew Morgan before his business trip, and he repeatedly instructed them to take good care of her.
...
After Jodie Cooper left the old mansion, Chloe Grant and Michael Taylor caught up, and the three of them shared a car ride back.
In the car, no one spoke.
Back at the villa, Benjamin was naturally nowhere to be found.
"Where did Benjamin go... should we go find him?" Michael Taylor softly inquired, breaking the awkward silence among the three.
Jodie Cooper, sitting on the sofa, picked up a pillow and said dismissively, "Thereβs no need to look. When heβs upset, he doesnβt see anyone. Heβll only come out once his anger subsides."
"Iβm quite surprised, that Benjamin actually stood up for Chloe like that." Michael Taylor was merely trying to find something to talk about but inadvertently touched on the wrong subject, so he quickly shifted, "I think this matter should wait for Grandpa Morgan to return and then settle it once and for all."
