Accidentally invincible!-Chapter 150: Fellow Daoist, They Are Demons!
Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Fellow Daoist, They Are Demons!
Lin Fan was still within the boundaries of Kunyu Mountain.
He wasn’t sure where exactly he was anymore.
The surrounding environment was entirely unfamiliar; he could only take things one step at a time.
He glanced back at the entrance of the path.
The demons here were particularly vicious. Other than him, who could jump and run out alive, anyone else venturing inside would definitely meet their end. As someone who enjoyed meddling in others’ affairs and fancied himself a good-hearted busybody, Lin Fan naturally couldn’t allow others to throw their lives away so recklessly.
Afterwards, he found a stone stele at the entrance.
’Dangerous, extremely dangerous, extraordinarily dangerous.’
’Nine deaths and one chance at survival.’
Every word was filled with malice, designed to strike fear. If someone still chose to go in despite this blunt warning, that would have nothing to do with him. He had spelled it out as clearly as possible—who could they blame if they insisted on inviting death?
Soon, Lin Fan left the area and set off once again on his journey to grow stronger.
Several days later.
"This place really isn’t great for cultivation,"
Lin Fan muttered as he trekked through Kunyu Mountain. He had been walking for quite some time but hadn’t encountered a single demon wreaking havoc. An empty mountain range devoid of demons? Who could believe such a thing?
"Demons! Where are you all? Get out here!"
He let out a furious roar, unleashing a surge of mana that reverberated through the forest. With a loud flutter, countless startled birds took to the skies, most likely cursing in their hearts at this rude individual yelling in the wilderness, utterly lacking in decorum.
His voice echoed through the mountains.
"Looks like yelling was a waste of time again,"
Lin Fan said helplessly. No demons appeared, leaving him directionless in his quest to improve himself. The demon he encountered at the cemetery had been quite interesting, but neither of them could do anything to the other; they had only stared at each other in frustration.
Lingering there any longer would simply waste time.
He didn’t want to go back inside, and the Demon King of Ten Thousand Saints didn’t dare leave. If the demon revealed itself, its overwhelming demonic power would certainly be impossible to conceal. In the territory of cultivators, it would only take a few brief moments before a True Immortal arrived to obliterate it entirely.
That night.
Lin Fan felt an intense urge to laugh awkwardly and admit that he had gotten lost in Kunyu Mountain. He couldn’t even figure out the way out. If he had known it would turn out like this, he would have left with Wu Ji from the start.
At least he wouldn’t be in this humiliating predicament now.
Just then,
he spotted a distant light. Excitement surged through him as if he had stumbled upon something thrilling. He immediately approached the light. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be an old house.
"Who came up with this kind of cliché setup?"
Lin Fan could tell at a glance that something was fishy about this place—very fishy.
His gaze swept over the house.
Above the old house, the air was surprisingly clear, with no trace of demonic energy. According to common sense, even if a demon had transformed to appear human, it would still be hard for it to completely conceal its demonic aura.
Yet this old house had no demonic energy at all.
Someone with less vigilance might let down their guard and fall right into the trap, only to die tragically at the hands of a cunning demon.
Before long,
Lin Fan arrived at the old house. He raised his hand and knocked on the door. "Is anyone there? I happened to be passing by. Could I trouble you to let me stay for the night?"
Knock knock!
He knocked softly, exuding a sense of politeness.
Creak!
The old wooden door slowly swung open.
An old woman with a head full of white hair, holding a lantern, appeared behind the door. In a raspy voice, she said, "Young man, are you asking to stay the night?"
Lin Fan looked at her with a smile on his face. "Yes, would that be all right?"
"It’s already so late, and the deep mountains are filled with wild beasts. It’s dangerous for someone traveling alone. If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to come in," the old woman replied slowly.
Lin Fan chuckled. "How could I possibly mind? If you’re willing to let me stay, I’m endlessly grateful."
The old woman led the way, her kind expression providing a sense of comfort. Yet the occasional smiles she flashed were unsettlingly eerie. Lin Fan, however, failed to notice the peculiarity of those smiles.
If he had noticed, he probably would’ve shouted, "Grandma, that grin of yours is downright creepy!"
In the main hall.
"Please, take a seat," the old woman said.
Just then,
a melodious voice drifted from behind a curtain to the side. The voice was soft, as if two people were engaged in a quiet discussion.
Lin Fan looked intrigued; he hadn’t expected to find others here.
The old woman said, "Chun Mei, Qiu Dong, why are you hiding back there? Come out and greet our guest."
Soon, two gorgeously beautiful girls stepped out, their long hair cascading over their shoulders. One was mature and alluring, while the other was pure and demure. Dressed in flowing white dresses, they exuded two completely different styles—surely, at least one would align with your tastes.
"And who are these two young ladies?" Lin Fan feigned curiosity as he asked. Truthfully, he was quite bored and always enjoyed putting on a show, especially at the expense of others for his own amusement.
The old woman replied, "Young man, these are my daughters—Chun Mei and Qiu Dong. Why don’t you two quickly come greet our guest?"
"Good evening, sir,"
said one.
"Good evening, sir,"
said the other.
Their voices, though different, carried an irresistible charm that could make anyone feel a touch of happiness.
If an average person encountered such a scene, could they possibly remain calm?
More than likely, they’d be... thrilled to the core, expressing admiration in the politest way possible.
Lin Fan commented with a smirk, "Madam, judging by how young your two daughters look, they can’t be all that old. But you seem to be at least seventy or eighty. Having two daughters so late in life, and having them turn out so stunningly beautiful? That’s extraordinary."
A peculiar thought crossed his mind.
In horror movies with setups like this, why do the mothers always look ancient—practically halfway into the grave—yet have two drop-dead gorgeous daughters?
And they never seem to have fathers. The dads always seem to have passed away long ago.
Anyone with half a functioning brain would find this suspicious, right? Yet somehow, people keep falling for it.
After some initial contemplation, he concluded it must be that so-called "lust clouding judgment," causing intellectual capability to plummet into the negatives. Besides this, there simply was no reasonable explanation.
The old woman stood stunned, clearly unprepared for such a question. Those who had passed by in the past had never brought this up before.
