Academic gathering with a lich-Chapter 657 - 608 Each Their Own Path
In the following time, the young dragons grew at an unimaginable speed, and Lyle became their playmate. What started with Nia chasing and hitting them turned into a collective pursuit of Lyle and eventually to a one-on-one dragon chase with Lyle. It seemed to become a rite of passage among the young dragons. In just two short weeks, five young dragons, who had only been as tall as Lyle’s knees, had grown to be larger than Lyle, and Nia was no longer able to simply overpower them in a test of strength.
During the brief childhood of the young dragons, Lyle, as the spokesperson for the father of dragons, issued many absurd orders that the Giant Dragon couple conveyed just for fun, and all these tasks were chalked up to Lyle. Additionally, the occasional appearance of ominous signs when subduing the dragon whelps meant that apart from the Emerald Dragon Claudia, the first word they learned was "Lyle".
The Dragon Priest would occasionally accompany the young dragons, as they also needed to give thought to the upbringing plans for these few children with boundless potential. A new bond tightly linked Lyle and these young dragons.
The Black Dragon Alcalon had finished warming up for his challenge against his own father and, dragging his battered body, accepted the healing flame from the Red Dragon Imelt. He lifted his head and watched his sister, the Emerald Dragon Claudia, who was chasing after Lyle down the hillside, feeling somewhat displeased with her.
"Is it taking you this long even to make Lyle admit defeat, Claudia? Have you grown weak?"
A blast of dragon breath hit the Black Dragon’s face, and the corrosive acid that burns the air hissed on Alcalon’s face, but the well-prepared Black Dragon closed his eyes and nostrils tight, the acid doing minimal damage to his tough skin.
The Emerald Dragon complained discontentedly about the brainless Black Dragon, "You all defeated Lyle by relying on your strength whereas mine is magic. Don’t you know what kind of monsters live in this little necromancer’s dreams? Dear Alcalon, would you like to arm-wrestle with the embodiment of the omen in a nightmare? I hope your brutish body will be useful."
Wiping the acid off his face, the Black Dragon did not refute the Green Dragon’s words, for all the Giant Dragons knew that the so-called pursuit of Lyle was tempered, and that restraint was also the reason he could be their friend. The somewhat bored Black Dragon whipped the spine of the nearby Crystal Blue Dragon with the tip of his tail, the strike as quick as thunder. However, it was empty, as the Black Dragon only shattered the Blue Dragon’s illusion.
"Kristo, can’t you fight me like a warrior? You’ve become sneakier as you’ve grown," complained the Black Dragon.
The beautiful body of the Crystal Dragon materialized nearby, his claws playing with a Mana Model, and he sat languidly on the ground. "I can’t, I’m a spellcaster. Who would go head-to-head with you, you muscle-headed fool? I knew you’d want to fight dragons, and only Imelt can tolerate someone as impolite as you." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"At least Alcalon has the decency not to beat up his own healer," said the Red Dragon with a somber expression, "Fleisheimer told me that I need to leave the Dragon’s Nest for the Great Crucible to further my training, my clan and my mission await me, and I’m afraid it will be difficult to be together like this in the future. I’m a bit sad, a bit nervous."
The Blue Dragon shattered the Mana Model in his hands into fireworks, "Bordelis left the Dragon’s Nest for the deep sea before us, there’s nothing to feel sad about. We all have our own futures, and separation is for a better reunion. I, too, will head to the City of Wandering to study magic and finally enjoy some peace and quiet."
Alcalon laughed heartily, "Ohmhead will take me to his tribe, endless battles and hunts await me, I’m really looking forward to it!"
The optimistic nature of the two brothers dissolved Imelt’s melancholy, and not far away, the Emerald Dragon finally caught Lyle, ending the joke-like test of physical stamina.
"I won, Lyle."
His upper body was held in Claudia’s mouth, his arms and tentacles prying open her upper and lower jaws from the inside.
"Well done, Claudia, but next time please don’t talk with your mouth full."
"Do you even count as something, Lyle?"
"Alright, I regret teaching you all how to joke."
Having gotten the better of him, the Emerald Dragon released Lyle, exhaling a vanilla-scented breeze to dry the saliva off him. Lyle expressed his gratitude for the Emerald Dragon’s cleanliness.
"Although I can understand why you would want to swallow me whole, you’re the gentlest one among them."
"My godmother told me not to bare my fangs at poison until I’m sure it’s harmless to me."
"Your godmother? Irason?"
"No, it’s Susanna, the Governor who’s always been helping Irason. Actually, she’s quite interested in you, Lyle, and hopes you can find some time to visit the Dream Forest."
"Send my regards to your godmother, I’m grateful for her kindness, and I’ll visit when I have time," Lyle said with a smile, walking shoulder to shoulder with Claudia toward the dragons, "I’m also planning to see you. As you enter your juvenile phase, my dragon-rearing stage comes to an end. Although it was quite a brief period, I feel like we’ve become long-time friends."
"This friendship will last until one of us grows old."
"Oh, that will be quite a long time."
The arrival of Lyle brought an end to the lethargic state of the four dragons, who formed a semicircle around him, standing tall and proud, their haughty heads looking down on this human.
"I guess he’s about to give a blood-pumping speech next," Alcalon laughed.
"He didn’t bring a speech, I bet he won’t say more than ten sentences," Kristo said with a smile, bowing slightly to the Dragon King Priest.
The Red Dragon and Emerald Dragon were a bit more reserved and expressed speechlessness to their brothers.
Lyle clapped his hands to attract the attention of the four dragons.
"Those present are all dragon babies who I’ve bashed and who have bashed me, and I’m very glad you’ve entered the next stage of your lives. It’s too bad Bordelis has left, but it’s alright, I conveyed my blessings to him when he departed."
"You are the generation of hope, the future of the Giant Dragons. This era is the era of the Holy Light, but it’s also your era. Fly, Giant Dragons, and display your magnificent stature in this era. Make your race rise, and let the followers of dragons return from history!"
Lyle coughed twice, "The above are the lines your old father asked me to say. Next are my personal words to you."
"Alcalon, Imelt, Kristo, Claudia, and Bordelis who isn’t here..."
"Don’t you ever loaf around, just hang on. There are too many strong beings in this era. If you one day come across someone in shining armor with light for wings, don’t think, just flee. If it really comes down to it, just mention my name... I have a slight relationship with the Head of the Holy Light."
The seriousness in Lyle’s voice made the young dragons uneasy.
Kristo stopped fiddling with his Spell Model.
"So, he will spare us because of your connection, Lyle?"
"I’m not sure, but that way, I would be informed if one of you died, so your parents could have another one."
