Chapter 654: Chapter 605: Incubation

Giant Dragons are magical creatures, inheriting the lofty positions of the ancient gods Yemotar. These huge reptilian creatures can actually create formlessly, requiring only a compatible force. With the help of a Giant Dragon’s maternal body, new dragon eggs can be laid.

Lyle listened to the Dragon Priest’s explanation, gazing up at his towering teacher.

"So these five dragon eggs were guided by the five Dragon Priests from within you, teacher, harnessing the power of various tribes, using the body of the Twilight Dragon Mother to produce them."

The Giant Dragon nodded satisfactorily, "Exactly, the tribal power of the Dragon Priests sustains my body, and the chaotic power within me is actually a fusion of the five tribal forces..."

Lyle continued, "That means, these dragon eggs are actually imbued with power bestowed by the Dragon Priests, and Silvette gave them form..." Lyle cocked his head, eyeing the towering father of dragons askance.

"So... Giant Dragon teacher, what role did you play in the process of procreating these children?"

If power is inherited from the Dragon Priest’s tribal forces and the body is given by the Twilight Dragon, then what is the father of dragons for?

The Giant Dragon grinned, his sharp fangs gleaming from the corners of his mouth, causing Lyle’s heart to quiver. Yet, this was merely an indulgent father of dragons wishing to tease his own impetuous Dragon Priest with a little joke.

"My children inherit my bloodline, and I will grant them their true names and blessings, making them into true Giant Dragons."

[Alcalon, Obsidian and War Dragon, my eldest son, you shall be invincible.]

[Imelt, Ruby and Life Dragon, my eldest daughter, you will be adored by all.]

[Kristo, Crystal and Magic Dragon, my second son, I have beheld your brilliant future.]

[Claudia, Emerald and Dream Dragon, my second daughter, living creatures shall slumber in your dreams.]

[Bordelis, Pearl and Ocean Dragon, my youngest, churn the tides.]

The father of dragons chanted their names in an ancient, high-pitched tone, as swirling clouds formed vortexes in the sky, and the sun shone like a gem, casting an epic, magnificent hue upon the heavens. The five dragon eggs trembled slightly to receive the blessings of their leader.

It took a long while for the generated images to subside under nature’s equilibrium, and the shape of the Giant Dragon appeared somewhat wilted. He lay beside the Twilight Dragon, enjoying the tender care of the dragon mother, who rubbed her head against the slightly softer under-chin of the dragon father, both beasts exhaling contented breaths.

Lyle stood beside the scholar sir, not wanting to disturb the Giant Dragon’s private world, he quietly asked, "Scholar teacher, how does he discern the gender of the dragonets inside the eggs—some unique connection between Giant Dragons?"

The gaze of the Blue Dragon Priest concentrated on the glowing Crystal Dragon Egg, and the teacher’s instincts still made him divert his attention to answer Lyle’s query.

"He doesn’t need to know. At the point of laying the eggs, the Giant Dragon obtained bodies of differing dragon varieties from the maternal body, and the father’s blessings will endow them with their respective traits, including gender. Giant Dragon Yemotar doesn’t need to be aware of the gender of the eggs, as this is for him to determine. Just like humans, dear Lyle, your gender is determined by your parents’ genetic makeup. It’s just that the Giant Dragon’s method is more subjective."

The two Giant Dragon parents were very pleased with their children, and so were the Dragon Priests with these new lives.

"Roar, just look at Imelt, she’s bound to grow into a lively little one," the Red Dragon Priest laughed heartily, his rough hand yearning to touch her but enduringly stayed a meter away.

"So what, the White Dragon Egg is the largest; don’t compete with the Sea Dragon in vitality and size, Land Dragon Breed." The Merfolk Dragon Priest seemed to really enjoy this sort of comparative activity.

"Vitality and physique are not the standards for becoming an outstanding Giant Dragon, my new pupil will prove the nobility of magic to everyone," the scholar sir seemed full of confidence, his competitiveness ignited once again by the Crystal Dragon Egg.

The Dragon Priests were excited, the bond between the Giant Dragon and the Dragon Priests would reconnect, and this group of Giant Dragon apprentices, the benefactors of the Giant Dragon, would become nannies and mentors to the five young dragons, returning everything bestowed by the Giant Dragon to him.

"Alcalon will be the new generation Dragon King, mark my words," the Black Dragon Priest stated succinctly and resolutely, locking eyes with the scholar sir, sparking a new clash of power.

Isn’t there one missing?

"Ah!!!" The Elf Dragon Priest screamed, collapsing to the ground, her head spinning with stars, clutching her head as if in great pain.

"What’s the matter, my sister?" The other Dragon Priests were tolerant towards the mascot.

Irason rubbed her head, slightly embarrassed.

"I just dove deep into Claudia’s dreamscape, intending to communicate with her and help her consciousness form more quickly, but instead, she bit me! It hurts so much!"

The Dragon Priests fell silent, gazing at the Green Dragon Priest with an uncommon look.

The mascot actually ran off ahead of time!!! Using her own abilities and those of the Emerald Dragon to enter dreams, she even helped the still-forming dragonlings with prenatal education! Damn, such deception well hidden.

Could the Emerald Dragon become the most powerful of the five dragons! Absolutely not!

The five Dragon Priests, who used to be as close as siblings, now viewed each other as rivals, and not even Irason was an exception. Lyle watched silently as the Dragon Priests crafted various early education plans for the dragonlings and secretly worried for the little ones.

"Esteemed Dragon Priests, shouldn’t we be considering the hatching of the dragon eggs first rather than the education of the dragonlings? Hey! You misguided Green Dragon Priest, stop entering dreams already, your body is convulsing!"

Under Lyle’s logical explanation, the Dragon Priests stopped their squabbling.

"Hatching eggs? We don’t have knowledge of such techniques in our possession."

"That should be the instinct of the Giant Dragon, so, we need Miss Silvette’s incubation."

Upon hearing her name, the Twilight Dragon who was playing tug-of-war with Mister Giant Dragon lifted her head, nodded, and then shook her head.

"I certainly know how to hatch dragon eggs, but I can’t hatch them myself. The hatching of a dragon egg requires the breath of its parents to nurture it. But my shadow dragon breath is highly corrosive, and the Giant Dragon need not even consider it, as his chaotic dragon breath will only hatch a bunch of little crazies."

A new problem emerged, these dragon eggs might not be able to be hatched! Because their parents, in a strict sense, are not normal dragons.

"So, what should we do?"

Silvette scraped her chest scales with a front claw, "Let me think, that’s right, Lyle, how was Nia born?"

"Nia?" If he remembered correctly, Nia seemed to also have had a transition phase from egg to child of the Evil God, where she was a glob of water ball-like Slime.

"I remember..." Lyle closed his eyes, frowning in thought, "I cooked her in a pot? Mixed with ingredients and broth."

"...Such a Lich style."

Silvette laughed heartily, her punches raining down on the Dragon King’s back, "You’ve reminded me, Lyle, dragon egg hatching doesn’t only require dragon breath, they need to absorb energy, and as long as it’s a similar type of energy, it’ll work."

The Dragon Priests had a sudden realization.

"The flames of the Great Furnace can warm Imelt’s dragon eggs; I’ll discuss with the Baron of the Garden, fire elementals will make great nannies."

"The deep-sea currents and the temple’s radiance, the Pearl Dragon will be the first to grow."

"Magic Power, that’s something I’m not short of."

"The new generation of Dragon Kings will bathe in the warm blood of wild beasts, their corpses will be their warm bed."

"I can discuss with Susanna to see if she’s willing to help rear another child for me."

It seemed that the matter was perfectly resolved, and the five Dragon Priests, with permission, left with the dragon eggs. Lyle was about to say goodbye when the Giant Dragon grabbed him by the collar.

"My children also inherit some traits from the Evil God, and they will grow very quickly. Stay here for a few days, and it won’t be long before we can see them breaking out of their shells."

Lyle nodded his head.

"Will the Giant Dragon’s childhood be brief?"

"Yes, though the knowledge in their blood will mature their minds, joyful times are always short. They will quickly reach adolescence, then start enjoying the Giant Dragon’s long life. Their age will be similar to yours, Lyle, I hope you can become their playmate of the same age."

Lyle imagined a future where he would be looking after five dragonlings.

"Teacher, are you sure youngsters who don’t know better but are full of power won’t tear me apart?"

"What’s the matter, can’t you just piece yourself back together if you get torn apart?" Mister Giant Dragon said, revealing his genuine thoughts with a smile.
