Chapter 360: Chapter 351: Deep One

The mist surged.

Strange silhouettes silently rose from the surface of the lake, gathering like snakes crawling forward. Within a few minutes, a large shadow had appeared in front of the crowd.

More than two hundred Nagas appeared on the shore. These creatures, illegal immigrants through all special means, had already shown anger because of Chen Feng’s malice. They intended to demand an explanation for their dead kin through battle and to crush the human spirit.

After the Blood Sacrifice, Chen Feng’s body had transformed into a Demon, granting him an extraordinary vision. A mere mist could not obstruct his sight.

He saw the gathered Nagas, their numbers still increasing, like pythons crawling from the earth’s cracks. The Nagas gathered together, their tails began shaking at a high frequency, and the ground emitted some rustling sounds—this was the prelude to an attack.

This was a test of the morale of both sides.

Most Nagas held stones and cudgels, along with about fifty elites among them, bearing blades and longswords in their four arms, and some even wielding a broad shield.

"Hiss hiss..."

Just as their numbers were about to peak, a leading Naga let out a roar. This male Naga stood over three meters tall, practically a monster, and in terms of weaponry, he was elite—a longsword, a dagger, a shield, and a massive stone.

Melee, ranged, defense.

Inherent talent endowed the Nagas with the ability to wield more weapons. More terrifyingly, the opponent exuded an aura unique to the Silver Tier.

A turquoise mist spread above its head, surrounding Nagas began to roar under its imposing presence, seemingly provoked, they yelled and launched an attack toward the crowd.

Obviously, this Naga was a leader.

Chen Feng ignored the opponent, mere Silver Tier, he didn’t even feel the interest to make a move. He merely patted the Dark Elf on the shoulder.

The latter received the signal, drew an arrow, and aimed at the opponent’s body, slowly pulling the bowstring, then released her finger.

"Whoosh!"

A dark arrow pierced through the mist, arriving at the Naga warrior’s front in an instant. The opponent had powerful perception and raised his shield to his chest the moment the arrow was shot, intending to block the fierce strike.

But the Dark Elf had long stepped into the Silver Peak. Even if she had obtained the least power in the Blood Sacrifice, it was still a great benefit. Just like this arrow, it was imbued with some demonic energy. She was an elf adept at learning, a genius able to infer other things from one fact, be it in combat or matters of the bed.

The hard shield was utterly useless under the frenzy-piercing force, as if a sheet of paper was torn apart. The shield splintered instantly, not to mention the arrow pierced through it, nailing right into the Naga warrior’s chest. He widened his eyes—this was the final scene of his life.

Their leader died just like that?

A blazing fire ignited all over the sky.

Chen Feng watched as a gush of blood spilled onto the ground, his killing intent growing stronger. To conquer these Nagas, he must envelop them in fear. He stooped low, suddenly charging forward, leaving behind a trail of white afterimages. As a Golden Tier expert, these Nagas were mere child’s play to him.

The flame blade transformed into a sky full of firelight, and blood was splattered across the ground. In just a few minutes, over a dozen Nagas fell at Chen Feng’s hands.

No mercy.

These Nagas were not purely human. In reality, they were just a group of alien races from another Dimensional World. Showing mercy? That was utterly impossible.

The situation grew complicated. For the Nagas, they had never fought such a futile battle; they had no idea what was happening as casualties began to mount on their side, applying immense pressure on them.

"Roar..."

The Inferior Demon trotted along, like a young girl chasing butterflies in a field. It stood not far from the Nagas, inhaled into its chest, then exhaled a violent airstream. Instantly, a powerful aura, like Mount Tai, pressed upon all the Nagas.

—Dragon Aura!

The fierce aura weighed down on them, causing some Nagas already intimidated to collapse to the ground.

Ordinary people cannot withstand the Dragon Aura.

Fortunately, most of the pressure from the Inferior Demon was concentrated at the front, and although humans felt it too, it was far less terrifying than what the Naga experienced.

"Hiss, hiss..."

A bizarre cry rang out. Seeing that she was not a match for the people in front of her, the Naga Sea Witch unexpectedly turned and fled.

Initially, more than two hundred Naga charged forward, but because everything happened so suddenly, and despite being under orders not to fire, the mist from the water made the warriors tense, and they pulled the triggers on their weapons.

Everything happened too suddenly.

Bullets blazing with fire slammed into the Naga. These mighty warriors, not even aware of what was happening, only felt a sudden pain, then fell to the ground, wailing. The area that was hit immediately lost feeling, leaving them utterly clueless about what to do.

The Naga were unafraid of battle, but this bizarre defeat made them lose the courage to continue fighting.

A frenzy overcame some as they rushed toward the lake’s surface. With their exceptional swimming skills, if the Naga managed to reach the water, capturing them would be virtually impossible.

Thankfully, Chen Feng was prepared; as the battle began, a group of warriors had already spread out a massive fishing net. Now, as the Naga frantically turned back, the warriors moved to intercept them, catching the Naga in the net.

There was still some resistance, but the surrounding warriors held tightly to the net, giving no chance for the Naga to escape. Thus, even though a few Naga managed to flee, it no longer mattered; nearly eighty percent of the Naga were captured, effectively fulfilling Chen Feng’s initial goal.

Clearly, victory was achieved, yet Chen Feng’s brow furrowed slightly. Everything went too smoothly—yes, everything from the outset went too smoothly.

So far, the strongest of these Nagas was merely a Silver Tier warrior, but the recent water gun attack was not something an ordinary Silver Tier could wield.

What does this signify?

Below this lake, some fearsome presence was concealed.

Chen Feng’s eyes turned blood-red, gazing through the water towards the depths. As layers of water were penetrated, Chen Feng sensed something amiss.

It was an indescribable feeling.

It was as though his breathing involuntarily became heavy, his heartbeat quickened, as if frightened; his hair stood on end, and a strange sense of powerlessness and exhaustion overwhelmed him, akin to being sleep-deprived for three days, rendering his body weak.

He saw a monster.

Its belly was white. Most of its body was shiny and slippery, but its back had a prominent, scaled ridge. The figure had vague humanoid features but a fish-like head with large, bulging eyes that never closed. On both sides of its neck, gills quivered constantly. Long limbs had webbing between the fingers. Underwater, it lurched forwards erratically, sometimes using just its hind legs, other times moving on all fours...

At that moment, it seemed to notice Chen Feng simultaneously, opening its mouth to emit a hoarse, sharp sound conveying a sense of belonging to darkness.

Deep One.

This was a Dimensional Creature, older and far more terrifying than the Naga.

Its appearance was that of a fish-headed human, gray-green with a white belly, webbed fingers on its limbs, scales on its body, protruding fish-like eyes that never closed, with gills on its neck. It moved on land using a frog-like leap on two or four legs, described in related texts as a fishlike frog or froglike fish, exuding a strong fishy odor with many abandoning human form altogether. Despite its seemingly simple appearance, the Deep One is a highly intelligent race capable of living up to three hundred years unless killed prematurely.

Deep Ones can produce hybrid offspring with humans, and those born with Deep One blood may initially look normal but can rapidly transform into a grotesque appearance due to contact with their kin or extreme stress.

First, the eyes protrude, the eyelids unable to close; the skin gradually turns gray-green, becoming wet and cold, with scales forming on the surface; webbing appears between the fingers, and gills form behind the neck. The transformation into an amphibious form doesn’t take long.

Apart from humans, these powerful beings also favor hybrids with the Naga; compared to humans, who are unskilled in aquatic environments, the Naga are born adept divers, making their abilities much more appealing to the Deep Ones.

The "Deep Ones" dwell in the deep sea, where time is meaningless. Their arrogant lives are filled with icy beauty, their cruelty beyond belief, living nearly three hundred years, with the potential to extend even further.

Unlike humans, they lack the desire for physical contact. Enslaving humans to mate with Nagas is not for pleasure but rather for reproductive purposes.

On this land, not only are there Nagas but also their ruler, a mighty being nearly at Silver Peak, just shy of advancing to Golden Tier, similar to Hong Jiuling’s power level in the past.

Chen Feng took a deep breath.

Clearly, to truly control the Nagas, the most critical task now is to find a way to take down the Deep One. Only then can he have a chance to make the Nagas completely submit!
