Chapter 334: Conquering A Realm - 3

"What? Who is coming?" Kaelion asked, half expecting Leo to be trying to distract him, as he couldn’t sense anything.

In response, Leo closed his eyes and tried to sense something.

In the shadows, Katherine raised a brow—surprised.

He can sense things that far? Is it a skill from the Colossus?

But what Leo was using was not any skill, but a Trait.

Cragviel Colossus (Low 3-star) [Howl]

- Mortal Bloodline (46%)

- Blood Bond - 53%

Traits:

1. Endless Growth - Locked

2. Controlled Weight Flow - Locked

3. Natural Habitat Harmonisation - Locked

4. Titanic Endurance - Locked

5. Geo-Resonance Sense - Partially Unlocked (30%)

- It detects vibrations, movement, and mana flow through the earth over vast distances, allowing navigation and avoiding life beneath its feet.

Howl’s bond percentage had reached a critical point to unlock a trait, and it happened to be [Geo Resonance Sense].

Somehow, Howl’s favorability for Leo was skyrocketing after he started to slowly build his territory on his back. Most of the reason was because of the druid, because that beast would take care of his back as if it were the most sacred place on earth.

Combined with the ever-growing Titanbreath Lotus on his back and the mana-enriching Fluxsoil heart that boosted all the energy-giving plants on his back, Howl had never felt so cared for, and he just needed to sit while all his work got done by itself.

A Cragveil Colossus’ most difficult plight is to always keep his energy reserves filled sufficiently so that it doesn’t die of hunger—which most do, as they cannot defend the vegetation on their back properly, as observed in the case of Leo’s and Brant’s fight.

Brant’s single attack took away all the vegetation from the other Cragviel Colossus’s back in the trial city. And Leo was not only giving Howl energy but even protecting all the vegetation just for existing. Of course, it would be happy.

"They are a bit far... but are closing in very quickly," Leo said, sensing things vaguely.

"Who are they?" Kaelion asked.

"I don’t know that, but they are large in number."

Kaelion nodded; it seemed Leo wasn’t joking.

He took out Grivak too, since he would not fight unless compelled.

Just 10 minutes passed before they heard their first rustle, which was followed by more rustle.

"Woof!"

A bark echoed as a wolf appeared.

Ashmane Wolf (Low 2-star) - Mortal Bloodline

It was a lean beast with thick dark fur and glowing amber eyes. Its long fangs curved slightly outward, and its paws moved silently across the ground as it came to a sudden halt upon spotting Leo’s group.

As if the bark was the signal, all the rustling around them stopped, and they felt tons of hungry eyes on them from the surrounding shadows.

But Leo observed that all the wolves were in the range of peak 1-star to High 2-star—scrawny, their skin giving away the bones beneath, thin and frail, as if they had been starved intentionally.

At a glance, they could tell there were at least 20 to 30 of them, all with that same gaunt look. And Leo could tell they were actually backing away after seeing their beasts. Especially Nyxa—though she was in her smallest 3-meter form, she was still a similar size to the highest-ranked High 2-star beast among them, and unlike it, she looked far stronger.

Singham’s appearance was another deterrent. As a Lion, he naturally filled their hearts with terror, not to mention a far stronger Lion. But the hunger in their eyes didn’t dim. It was obvious they would either die at the hands of the beings in front of them or by hunger.

They charged.

"Kill them," Leo said calmly.

All of a sudden, the biggest wolf among them found its head bitten off by a strange 9-meter-tall feline creature. But even before the rest could react, countless vines erupted from the ground and lifted all the wolves into the air. The next moment, Lily released a volley of wind blades that split the wolves’ bodies into two.

Ding!

Ashmane Wolf (High 2-star) Killed - Not enough existential value to gain experience

Leo raised his brow; it seemed the bar had once again risen.

Since he was now a Low 4-star being, he needed to kill at least a Low 3-star being to gain experience points to level up.

Within 10 seconds, all the threats were eliminated with ease as Shyra, Singham, Grivak, and Nyxa started to munch on an unexpected free meal.

A kilometre away, an elf suddenly opened her eyes.

"They were killed..." she said, narrowing her eyes.

"The wolves?" another asked.

"I mean, they were weak and disposable to reveal their location, but why do you look so worried?" the elf asked.

The first elf looked at her.

"Because they were all killed within 10 seconds."

Hearing that, the other elf’s eyes widened.

"This strong...?"

"Let’s go! We cannot remain in their range!" the girl said. Both of them had travelled closer with the wolves so that they could sense the wolves’ lifesigns and get a rough idea of where the intruders were.

But while running away, they made the mistake of setting foot on the ground.

Leo suddenly snapped his head toward their direction as he sensed an unusually strong step creating distance from them with nimble movement. It was very different from the normal Low or mid 1-star beasts he had been sensing.

"Found them! Lily!" he said urgently. Lily immediately understood and quickly spirit integrated with Lunaria to lift them up through the wind. Leo and Kaelion unsummoned their beasts and started to fly toward the direction Leo signalled.

Swooossshhh! 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Lily focused and increased their speed as they flew through the air.

Soon, they arrived nearly 1 kilometre away and landed at the place where Leo had roughly sensed the movements. He tried concentrating more, and they were already 500 meters away. Lily once again resumed her pursuit.

Leo realised he could sense a distance of roughly 1800 meters, which meant 1 intelligence stat equalled 1 meter. So for his 1832 points in intelligence, he could sense 1832 meters.
