Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 713 - 362: Xu Nuo (Part 1)
The place Shi Dadan picked was a dessert shop located in the amusement park, where there were fewer people. The dessert shop was decently decorated and mainly sold ice desserts like shaved ice and slushy ice, with very high prices.
To put it into perspective, a pure meat grilled sausage in this amusement park costs only 8 yuan, but the cheapest slushy ice in this dessert shop is priced at 68 yuan.
It’s only April now, and the weather is not particularly hot—nowhere near the season where one would need icy drinks to survive an amusement park visit. Therefore, this dessert shop’s business was quite bleak. When Qin Huai and Shi Dadan walked in, there was only a young couple in the shop who shared one slushy ice.
Both Qin Huai and Shi Dadan ordered a slushy ice each. Shi Dadan noticed that this dessert shop also sold hot glutinous rice balls and hand-grabbed pancakes, which piqued his curiosity enough for him to spend a significant amount to purchase the 39-yuan rice balls and the 25-yuan hand-caught pancake. This price made Qin Huai sigh inwardly, feeling that the snacks at his Yunzhong Restaurant were indeed way too cheap.
The two found a corner seat and sat down.
Shi Dadan was still holding a grilled sausage, which he had deliberately bought from a nearby sausage stand.
Once seated, Shi Dadan took out some fresh meat mooncakes made by Zheng Siyuan from his bag and placed them on the table, along with a bag of Little Boss Mantou that he had gotten from Qin Luo, and began eating.
Qin Huai realized that Shi Dadan might really not be all that interested in amusement parks, but he was quite interested in eating something in the amusement park.
"Xiao Qin, do you want to eat something?" Shi Dadan invited, cheerfully saying, "Are you going to watch my memory in front of me now? I asked Old Luo last night, and he said when you watch memories, the person appears dazed and unresponsive, and you go through them very fast. No matter how long the memory is, even if it’s ten days or half a month, you finish it in a few minutes."
"Is that so?" Shi Dadan stared at Qin Huai.
Under Shi Dadan’s curious gaze, Qin Huai nodded. He had already realized that Shi Dadan definitely hadn’t told the whole truth, and was certainly hiding something.
But he was genuinely puzzled about what exactly Shi Dadan wanted to hide. If there was a memory he didn’t want Qin Huai to see, Shi Dadan definitely wouldn’t be this animated.
He seemed like he really wanted Qin Huai to see his memories.
Qin Huai felt like scratching his head, then saying something like "You auspicious beasts really are bewildering."
Qin Huai nodded, simply explaining the previous memory-viewing process. As he spoke, the slushy ice and the food Shi Dadan ordered arrived. Shi Dadan naturally told the store owner that they wanted to discuss something and asked not to be disturbed for a while.
The store owner was puzzled as to why anyone would discuss matters in an amusement park dessert shop, but since there were no other customers, he nodded and moved far away, finding a table as far from Qin Huai and Shi Dadan as possible to sit and play with his phone.
Qin Huai had explained enough, so without further ado, he directly opened the game panel to find [A Segment of Shi Dadan’s Memory].

"Xiao Xu, you’re back from delivering? How does it feel to drive alone for the first time, were you scared? There were no problems on the road, right? All the trucks in your fleet are like patchwork, assembled from parts of scrap cars. Aside from the engine and the chassis, everything else is mixed and matched, aren’t they? They usually need repairs after every trip; Old Xu always complains to me after deliveries."
"You have to be careful when driving. I heard that Xiao Xia from the meat processing plant flipped the truck, and not only was the cargo damaged, but he also ended up in the hospital. You need to be careful."
At the textile factory’s gate, the security guard jokingly spoke to Xiao Xu in the truck, opening the gate to let the vehicle in as he spoke.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, Xiao Xu gave the security guard a silly smile but didn’t respond, slowly driving the truck inside.
The security guard could only helplessly shake his head at Xiao Xu’s taciturn nature, muttering to himself, "What a taciturn guy."
Qin Huai stood at the gate of the textile factory, glanced at the security guard, then at the slowly moving truck, and without hesitation, jogged to keep up.
At this time of day, the textile factory workers hadn’t finished their shifts yet. The entrance was desolate, save for the stationed security guard and Xiao Xu, who had just arrived by truck.
It was obvious that Xiao Xu was Shi Dadan in his first incarnation, and it was Qin Huai’s second time seeing a spirit in memory that didn’t match the appearance he knew. The first one was An Youyou, but An Youyou appeared in the form of a beggar with distinctive makeup that was captivating enough that appearance mattered less.
Shi Dadan was different. His first life form looked more like a Dang Kang, fitting more closely with Qin Huai’s stereotypical image of one.
Round face, buzz cut, relatively dark skin, looking dull. He wore a dull-colored work uniform. His features were ordinary without any noticeable characteristics, appearing very honest and simple, slightly chubby, though by the standards of that era, he would probably be considered quite overweight, resembling an unsophisticated honest man.
The truck moved through the factory at a very slow pace, and Qin Huai was able to keep up by jogging, watching as the truck stopped, and Shi Dadan cautiously turned off the ignition and got out.
His first action after getting out was to check the rear tires.
"Xiao Xu, what’s the matter? Did you get a flat tire?" Hearing the noise outside, Shi Dadan’s colleague came out of the truck fleet area and asked, "How come you’re back so early? Didn’t the clothing factory keep you for a meal?"
Shi Dadan, still looking down at the tires and pressing on them uneasily, eventually said, "They did, but it’s against the rules. I just took a couple of buns to eat on the road."
