"Why are you so angry? Is it really that hard to accept that Henry has feelings for you? You shot him so many times at Sant Angelo and he didn’t hold it against you. After coming to the island, he couldn’t bear to see you suffer the slightest hardship. I heard that when Lillian’s people took you away, he rushed to rescue you without a second thought. Yesterday, he was so anxious he almost killed all the Medical Practitioners in the entire hospital! If that’s not liking someone, then what is?"
"Henry is such a vengeful person, yet he’s done all this for you, and it’s not just liking anymore, he..."
’Bang!’
The only glass vase in the hospital room shattered against the wall behind Levi, who turned sideways with an amused look as he flicked the water off himself and turned back to look at me.
I lowered my hand that had thrown the vase, and my gaze was chilling as I watched him—if looks could kill, he would have died a hundred times over!
"Talking to you is getting more and more interesting. If we weren’t short on time, I’d really love to spend a few more days with you, smashing things or hitting people—I wouldn’t mind."
I really did want to hit someone, especially the lunatic in front of me.
My stomach started to ache faintly again, and I took a deep breath, pretended to press my hand against my abdomen, and said coldly, "Scram!"
Seeing this, Levi’s mocking look in his eyes somewhat faded as he smirked, "Are you hurting again? It couldn’t be that my words upset you, right? The Medical Practitioner didn’t mention anything about getting stomach aches from being upset, did he?"
I closed my eyes, utterly speechless, and realized that Levi was quite annoying—the more you react to his words, the more excited he gets! Ignoring him seemed like a better option.
I turned my head away and stopped talking, but the knocking at the door caught my attention.
"Master Levi! Are you alright? I heard the sound of something breaking in the room. Do you need someone to come in and clean it up? Glass shards are bad news for everyone on the island!"
This voice sounded somewhat familiar. I stood still, my ears perked up.
Levi glanced behind him as if he thought of something and stood up.
"You can come in and clean this up! I’m worried that a certain lady might lose her temper and harm herself or others," he joked, as if he and I were old friends rather than enemies.
I sneered coldly and ignored his teasing.
Simo entered from outside with a nurse fully covered in protective gear, including a face mask. I glanced at them out of the corner of my eye, a glint flashing in my eyes.
Simo and the nurse started cleaning up the mess in the sofa area. I walked over, a pair of scissors glowing with a silver sheen sliding out from the long sleeves of my hospital gown, and in one swift movement, I lunged at the slightly distracted Levi!
Levi was highly skilled and reacted quickly. He first dodged the sharp scissors then tried to grab my wrist to disarm my ’weapon.’ I withdrew my hand and drove my knee toward him; the movement was clean and nimble, but Levi’s combat experience was clearly richer. He deflected the impact from my knee with his other hand and said coldly, "So fierce? You really want to kill me, huh?"
I ignored his nonsense and stabbed with the scissors again, this time aiming for his stomach!
Levi frowned and snorted, a fight igniting in his eyes. His elbow suddenly shot out, striking my hand holding the scissors. My entire arm went numb, and pain shot through my palm—a sensation of flesh and blood being forcibly sliced open!
I let out a muffled grunt and evaded Levi’s next elbow strike. The injured hand trembled slightly, and bright, vivid blood dripped onto the floor like strings of red pearls, strikingly conspicuous!
"Ah! She’s hurt!" Simo was the first to notice and exclaimed in alarm.
Levi snapped back to reality, his fighting spirit fading as he looked coldly at the palm of my hand hanging by my side. His expression softened slightly, and he blurted out, "You... are you an idiot? Hurting yourself while fighting? Come here and let me have a look!"
I looked at him coldly and ignored his reproach. The pain and blood loss from the wound in my palm made my face turn pale.
Levi seemed extremely exasperated, took a deep breath, and said sternly, "Do you even want to keep your hand? Let the doctor treat it!"
"Your body is already in poor condition, you can’t afford to lose more blood! Stop being angry, let’s go to the pharmacy and stitch it up," Simo timely added, his tone filled with fearful trepidation but his concern was genuine.
In the tense minutes following Levi’s reaction, Simo’s accompanying nurse had already stepped forward to support me, leading me straight to the pharmacy at the other end of the hospital ward!
