A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 554: The Awakening of Leviathan [II]
The matter of Leviathan’s awakening was something that Elaina have already forgotten especially since she was only indirectly involved and not actively participating on the upcoming raid preparation that was meant to be done to deal with the humongous beast the moment it awakens.
She only have the credits for the underwater breathing potion and after she supplied her grandparents with it, she have been helping out with the potion production though she have passed it over Julia and Yona as a way for practice with Alchemy.
It has been a while since the last time the Leviathan has made any traction so now that it is happening and someone from the children is suffering because of the big snake, it came as a surprise for everyone including Elaina.
"Is there a way we can completely remove this thing, Yona?" Elaina is also a bit worried, seeing Mier is screaming in pain.
"Unfortunately, this matter is beyond my capabilities and it isn’t part of what I can remove with my concoctions. If even regular purification have barely no effect, what’s a concoction that barely qualifies as medicine?" Yona shook her head.
"So, all we can do is wait until that thing devours my daughter? Isn’t that just the same thing as sacrificing her to the Leviathan then?!" Alessa is frustrated, especially with Mier still suffering and she can’t even do anything about it.
That’s when the Harvest Goddess appearred and she scoop up Mier who has calmed down for a bit after Yona wrapped the cursed parts of her arm with mana bubble.
"We can only wait this out and hope for Leviathan to go back to sleep...or be slained by the adventurers."
"All we can do is wait? But what if that curse continues?" Alessa is worried.
"I wi bring her to my chamber and put her on my Sleeping Pod where I usually sleep and help with recovering my energy everyday. This should help out with keeping Mier alive and have her arms remain untouched as long as the bubble in her arm stays. Since it is mana, it will help keep the curse at bay."
"But that is not a solution..." Elaina frowned.
"Because it wasn’t meant to be a solution. It is meant as a way to minimize the damage of the curse and prolong Mier’s survivability as much as we can. The more stuff we can use that halts or stops a curse would tremendously help."
The Grand Sage seems to have remembered something and summoned his pocket dimension and pulls out a necklace where he let Mier wear.
"This is an old artifact that can remove curses and destroys any upcoming curses with great capability. But considering that the curse cannot be destroyed unless the Leviathan sleeps or killed, then this might be able to help out further delay the curse."
Thanks to the relic, the curse have visibly stopped spreading and with the bubble temporarily encasing her arm, it further enforces the effect.
After securing Mier and halting the spread, the only thing that is needed to be done is to remove the curse completely.
"Just how did Mier got this curse? We have not seen any telltale signs that she was cursed these past few days and I doubt you kids even went to the sea and returned to the Merfolk kingdom right?" Elaina turn to look at the others.
"No way. You know that we are mostly staying on our usual hunting grounds and we have no way of going to the Merfolk Kingdom with only two in our group capable of breathing underwater!" Arthur explained.
"What my twin said is correct, Mom. And besides, if we have noticed the cursed before, we would have already told someone as soon as we can so that we can remove it. Curses are not to be trifled with and even us knows that," Adelaide backed Arthur’s explanation.
The Grand Sage intervenes this time around and shared his information as well. "Don’t blame the kids, Miss Elaina. It seems they are indeed telling the truth. As for why little Mier has the curse, it seems to be something that is currently present with Mier from the very beginning."
Alessa frowned. "From the very beginning?"
"This is just a speculation and considering that I only learned that Mier was supposed to be a sacrifice for Leviathan before you two managed to escape, the curse that is currently consuming her slowly is the ’mark’ that Leviathan gives to the sacrifices or people that he views as his property. Since he woke up just now, Mier was supposed to be offered by now, but since she is here, she is now instead being consumed by the curse instead as a way to fully ’eat’ her.
"Is that why even purification magic is not working? Because she is dealing against a curse from that monster?!" Alessa is not holding her anger.
"Possible. The moment she has been marked as sacrifice, it seems her fate is already decided and all that was left is the beast’s awakening. And based on the earthquake that is still happening, it seems that was indeed the main case this time around," The Grand Sage explained.
"Do we have no other ways to deal with this curse? Aren’t you the Grand Sage? Perhaps you have a way to help remove the curse!"
The Grand Sage can only frown at Alessa and shake his head. "Even though I am the Grand Sage, I am not an all-knowing individual and this experience is the first time I have experienced in my life as well. I am at a loss as well."
It seems all hope is lost when the Harvest Goddess returned and this time, she is carrying a packet of seed and hand it over to Elaina.
"Farmer, please plant this seed and cultivate it. I will help you accelerate the growth of this plant as much as I can."
Elaina opens the pouch, revealing the lone seed sitting inside. It looks like a marble due to how it looks clear and she can see the seed’s interior.
"What seed is this?" Elaina asked.
"Something that will help Mier. I don’t know if this will actuallt help at all, but Mier won’t be able to last long and if we delay the removal of the curse, we might risk losing Mier’s arms in the process.
Hearing the risks, Elaina nods and pull out her tools for farming to begin the cultivation process.
She follows the instructions of the Harvest Goddess and the goddess also continue working with her magic to accelerate the growth of the plant. Elaina can tell that the Harvest Goddess is straining herself as her hands is showing bulges of veins as she forcefully releass magic power to inject over on the seed.
"Aren’t you straining yourself a little bit too much, Harvest Goddess?!" Elaina is starting to get worried.
"Don’t worry about me and just continue minding the plant. Looks like it is working."
Elaina turn to look at the patch of land that she put the seed in and on that patch is a green stem, slowly rising from the soil.
"I don’t think we can just sit here and watch. Let us help as well," Yona said as she started casting the same spell that the Harvest Goddess is using.
"Indeed! It would be a shame to my title as the Grand Sage and I just watch over things happening. Have a go with mine as well!"
Julia wanted to also join but the Grand Sage stops her and he shook his head, signing that instead of helping with the plant’s growth, she focus on monitoring Mier’s condition.
The kids can only watch as the situation continues to happen. As for Elaina and the others, she has no idea how long can Mier hold on for long. The only thing she can do is to help out on the process of the seed’s growth and ensure it grows properly before it can even offer the help.

On the other hand, while Elaina and the others are already dealing with a matter regarding the Leviathan, the Adventurers are also trying their best to hold Leviathan as much as they can.
"Cast a barrier on the side magicians! Those who can still move, help those who are wounded and bring them to safety! The rest continue to fight!" Rakkan shouts his order as he pummels the fins of the Leviathan as it started to attack them the moment it has awakened.
"Back of Rakkan! The Magic Cannon is fully operational!" Liliana shouted as she helps maintain the magic circle that is acting as the "Magic Cannon".
"Good! Fire!"
The mages who is currently fueling the huge magic circle unleash the mana stored on it and release it straight to Leviathan’s head.
FWOOOOMM!
The scale of the attack is strong, to the point that majority of the Magicians who unleashed the magic cannon has exhausted their mana reserves with only Liliana still able to load more mana.
But even with that strong firepower, it looks like it is isn’t enough to make a wound on the huge serpent. Rakkan grinned and grip his fist tight.
"It seems we arw about to step out of retirement, dear," Rakkan stand side by side with Liliana.
"Isn’t that what you want after all, hon?" Liliana smiled as she tap her staff to the floor.
The two former heroes alongside the other adventurers against the towering serpent known as Leviathan. The battle will rage on.
