A second chance with my billionaire husband-Chapter 1662 - 348: Repeated Mistakes, Helian Family Head (Part 1)
Yun Ya walked past the person without glancing sideways.
The paint on the wooden door was peeling, and the copper ring had rusted, giving it a very worn-out look.
Yun Ya reached out and knocked on the copper ring.
With a creak, the door opened a crack, and a ten-year-old boy peeked out, his face full of naivety and innocence.
He looked at Yun Ya in confusion and gestured in sign language.
So he was mute.
Yun Ya understood immediately, smiled, and gestured back in sign language.
The boy was surprised that Yun Ya understood sign language, then nodded at her and closed the door, running off.
Yun Ya patiently waited.
Soon the door opened again, the boy gestured to let her in, Yun Ya smiled at him and stepped inside.
Completely blocking the person’s prying eyes.
The wooden door closed again, and the man frowned and instructed the person next to him, "Go check this person’s identity."
The yard was small, with herbs drying everywhere on racks, leaving hardly any space to step, and in the main hall, Doctor Hua was engrossed in his medical books, occasionally picking up herbs to sniff at his nose, extremely focused.
"No, no... I’m still missing one herb, what could it be?" he mumbled, frowning.
Yun Ya walked up to him, seeing him preparing medicine, she scanned the room and grabbed a bit from the cabinet to sprinkle in.
"What are you doing?" Doctor Hua suddenly roared.
Seeing it was Yun Ya, he snapped back to his senses and coughed, "Why are you here?"
"What? Doesn’t Uncle like to see me?" Yun Ya asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You come here just to cause trouble," Doctor Hua feigned helplessness.
"Oh, does Uncle think I’m causing trouble? Then I’ll leave right now," she said, getting up to leave.
Doctor Hua looked at the herbs in the pan, his eyes suddenly lit up, "What did you add?" he picked up and sniffed.
"Angelica."
"Right, how did I not think of that, it’s perfect for balancing yin and yang, Angelica benefits qi and blood, reinforcing the righteous and eliminating the evil."
He then looked at Yun Ya with appreciation, "Well done."
Yun Ya raised her eyebrows, "Of course, I am his apprentice after all."
Doctor Hua shook his head with a smile and tossed the herbs to her, "Help me grind these."
Yun Ya pulled a face, "Really?"
"Stop complaining, hurry up, I need it soon."
Yun Ya pursed her lips and rolled up her sleeves obediently to grind the herbs.
"Who is that outside?" Yun Ya asked.
"An annoying person, don’t worry about them."
"San Qi," Doctor Hua suddenly called.
Yun Ya thought he needed the herb San Qi, about to get up to find it, but then saw the boy running over to Doctor Hua, taking the herbs he handed over and placing them to dry on the rack.
So the boy’s name was San Qi.
"Are you done yet?" Doctor Hua asked, glancing up. Yun Ya handed him the ground medicine, and Doctor Hua poured it into a bowl to start refining it.
Yun Ya watched from the side as Doctor Hua fanned the furnace and turned to ask, "How is your great-grandfather lately?"
"He’s okay. The old man is getting on in years, and his health is inevitably declining."
"With you around, I’m more at ease. Lately, there have been too many things happening in the Yan Family, take good care of yourself." His serious tone carried a hint of concern.
Yun Ya nodded with a smile.
Yun Ya stayed until noon, and when she left, the man was still standing at the door, raising his eyes when he saw Yun Ya coming out.
Yun Ya left as if nothing had happened.
"Miss, there’s someone following behind," the driver said.
"Ignore it," Yun Ya replied blandly.
The car drove into the Yan Family, and the man rolled down the window, looking at the grand entrance of the Yan Family, his brows furrowing deeper.
"Yan Nanmo’s daughter-in-law?"
This made things a bit tricky.
Three days later.
The first thing Yun Ya did when she opened her eyes in the morning was whisper in her heart: The day has finally come!
"Mingyue," she couldn’t wait to get out of bed and called out.
Ah Yun came in, "Miss, I haven’t seen Sister Mingyue these past two days. Did you send her on a task again?"
Mingyue is not here?
Yun Ya thought carefully and realized she hadn’t seen Mingyue these past few days either.
Yun Ya felt a bit uneasy, hoping nothing had happened.
That day, Yun Ya was restless, unable to concentrate on anything, even directly refusing an invitation to speak at a seminar from the hospital.
She spent the whole day looking at Miaomiao’s photograph.
As dusk fell, the world was gradually engulfed in darkness.
Just when Yun Ya was anxiously waiting, Mingyue finally arrived, albeit late.
"Where have you been?"
Yun Ya asked anxiously.
"Forgive me, Miss, some preparations needed to be done."
"What preparations?"
Mingyue glanced at Yun Ya, "The formation requires the blood of a close relative to activate, the closer the blood relation, the higher the accuracy."
Yun Ya hurriedly rolled up her sleeve, "Of course, use mine. I am a monozygotic twin with Miaomiao, no one in this world is closer to him than I am."
Mingyue nodded, "It will hurt a bit, Miss, please endure it."
Yun Ya laughed unconcernedly, "What’s pain? As long as I can find Miaomiao, no amount of pain scares me."
Mingyue looked at the bright smile of the girl and suddenly smiled.
"Let’s start now," Yun Ya said impatiently.
Mingyue looked at the courtyard shrouded in twilight outside the window, "We have to wait until midnight, that’s when the Yin energy is the strongest, best for helping me set up the formation."
Midnight, still have to wait until midnight.
Yun Ya checked the time, barely six o’clock.
"Miss, don’t be impatient, the young master will be fine," Mingyue comforted.
Having endured for so long, couldn’t endure a little longer? Yun Ya took a deep breath, sat down at her desk, and picked up a brush to write.
Before long, she calmed down completely.
"Miss, would you like to nap for a bit? I’ll wake you when it’s time?"
It was past ten, despite her anxiety all day, Yun Ya stayed energetic, as time drew closer, she became calmer.
Waving her hand, "I’m fine."
Mingyue didn’t say more seeing this.
At eleven thirty, Mingyue draped a coat over Yun Ya, wrapping her snugly from head to toe, then carried her out of the Yan Family.
The car sped along, reaching a clearing in the west outskirts, illuminated by charcoal fire all around.
Yun Ya stepped out of the car, the minute hand pointed to fifty.
A figure entirely cloaked in a black mantle suddenly appeared, emerging from the darkness, eerie and mysterious.
The figure bowed respectfully to Mingyue, the deep voice resonant and ancient, "Miss, you’re here."
Yun Ya glanced at Mingyue.
Mingyue pursed her lips and introduced them, "Uncle Lau."
Yun Ya smiled and nodded.
Uncle Lau looked up, revealing a somewhat aged face beneath the mantle, giving Yun Ya a gentle smile.
Yun Ya’s curiosity about Mingyue’s identity grew stronger.
Truly mysterious indeed.
"Is everything ready?" Mingyue asked as they walked.
"As reported to the Family Head, everything is prepared."
Mingyue hesitated, looking sideways at him, "How many times have I told you, do not call me Family Head in front of Miss."
Uncle Lau quickly corrected himself, "Yes, Miss."
"In front of Miss, I am not a Family Head," Mingyue murmured to herself.
Uncle Lau hesitated for a moment, saying, "Miss’s cultivation energy hasn’t fully recovered, activating the formation will consume most of it, a mishap could rebound and harm herself, it’s very dangerous, let me do it instead."
