A second chance with my billionaire husband-Chapter 1661 - 348: One Mistake After Another—Helian Family Head (Part 1)
Yun Ya emerged from the hospital room and saw Yan Xing leading a man, who was vigilantly scanning his surroundings.
Yun Ya smiled and said, "Auntie has taken Xuanxuan back home."
Yan Xing immediately said, "Sister Yun Ya, you’re amazing."
Yun Ya glanced at the man, who gave her a polite smile and looked anxiously into the room.
"Who is this?"
Yan Xing quickly introduced, "This is Mr. Du, who I’ve mentioned to you. He’s here to see my elder sister."
Then Yan Xing pointed to Yun Ya and introduced, "She is Yun Ya, my brother’s fiancée."
Du Ai was naturally quite familiar with her renowned name, the famous Dr. Nyx, on whom Yan Jin’s recovery completely depended. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
He looked at Yun Ya gratefully and said, "Miss Ji, thank you."
Yun Ya smiled and said, "It’s nothing, please go in. Watch the time, Auntie should be back soon."
Du Ai nodded and eagerly pushed the door open to enter.
Yun Ya gave Yan Xing a look, and Yan Xing followed him inside.
Yun Ya stood at the door, looking inside through the glass window.
Du Ai stepped towards the bed, each step seemingly a great effort for him.
She was sleeping peacefully, but there was a terrifying scar on her face, bandages encircled her head, her complexion was paper-white, and her breathing was faintly audible.
Yan Xing glanced at him, not missing the shock and anguish in the man’s eyes, as his heart was suddenly stung sharply with pain.
The eyes don’t deceive.
Elder sister, what kind of romance have you missed out on?
She couldn’t help but feel regret and pity for her elder sister.
"Jinjin." He suddenly held her hand, tears falling, revealing the saying, "Men don’t easily cry, unless they reach a point of sadness."
Yan Xing sighed quietly and stepped back.
"After all these years apart, it’s unexpected to meet again under such circumstances. How much hardship have you endured over the years?"
He suddenly slapped his own forehead hard, "It’s all my fault, I was too cowardly back then, lacking the courage. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have..." His voice filled with regret and self-blame.
He suddenly smiled, rubbing her hand against his cheek, "Do you remember the first time we met? You called me a bookworm, afraid to resist the arranged marriage. You were so confident and dazzling then, and I felt unworthy, making mistakes repeatedly, ultimately missing you."
"What you didn’t know was, that wasn’t the first time we met, a long time ago when you were still in high school..."
The man’s incessant words slowly echoed throughout the hospital room, bringing one’s thoughts back to many years ago, when they were young and vibrant, in the prime of youth...
Yan Xing wiped away tears, sniffling, "Turns out he liked my elder sister all along. If she had married him back then, she would be living happily now."
Though she didn’t like Grandma, she had to admit that her eye for people was indeed astute; elder sister trusted the wrong person while resisting against arranged marriage, he has held on for her all this time.
Yun Ya approached the window, gazing at the vast sky outside.
The night will inevitably pass, the dawn will arrive; no matter how much suffering, when fate closes one door, it opens another window.
Returning from the hospital, Yun Ya thought of Doctor Hua, who had gone on a herb-gathering trip for more than half a month now, unsure if he was back. She instructed the driver to head to East Alley.
Doctor Hua’s yard was at the deepest part of the alley, a small courtyard with a couple of shabby lanterns hanging at the entrance, creaking in the wind, as if they might drop off any moment.
The alley was too narrow for the car, so Yun Ya asked the driver to park at the alley entrance, preparing to walk inside.
Yun Ya noticed a black sedan parked nearby, giving off a low-key yet mysterious vibe.
Yun Ya took a glance and then stepped towards the alley.
A man in his thirties stood at the entrance, with a black-suited bodyguard holding an umbrella behind him, displaying much swagger.
Upon hearing footsteps, the man turned his head to look, and upon seeing Yun Ya, his eyes squinted slightly, with a sudden flash of light passing through them.
