Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Since He’s Already There, Let Him Be of More Use

Seth Quinn raised an eyebrow. ’Sis seems to have gotten smarter, figuring it out so quickly!’

"Spill it. What were you just laughing about?"

Seeing that he wasn’t talking, Jenna Quinn pressed him again.

"Sis, your eyes must be going bad. When was I laughing?"

Seeing he was determined to deny it no matter what, Jenna Quinn decided to try another approach.

"Have you met anyone recently? Say, a girl who left a deep impression on you, or one you found particularly special?"

She even put heavy emphasis on the word "girl."

Seth Quinn looked over at her. "What are you getting at?"

"Nothing! I’m just concerned about your personal life, that’s all. If you’ve met a girl you like, your big sis can help you out."

Seth Quinn’s expression was nonchalant as he uttered two words, "How so?"

"So it’s true? There really is someone? What’s her name? Which family is she from? How old is she?" Jenna Quinn’s eyes instantly lit up.

Seth Quinn watched her, mulling it over for a moment before saying, "I wouldn’t go so far as to say I like her. I’m just a little interested."

He was going to marry Clara Grant anyway. If he didn’t say it now, she’d find out later, so he had no intention of hiding it.

"Really? Is it Clara Grant?" In her excitement, the words tumbled out of Jenna Quinn’s mouth. Only after she said it did she realize she’d let it slip.

She looked at the murderous glare Seth Quinn shot her way, and a wave of despair washed over her. ’Is it too late to take it back?’

"How do you know Clara Grant?" Seth Quinn was stunned for a second before firing back the question.

’His sister and Clara Grant weren’t classmates or friends; they shouldn’t have had any contact. So how could they know each other?’

Unless...

A thought flashed through Seth Quinn’s mind.

"I... I... I..."

Jenna Quinn stuttered, unable to come up with a good excuse, when Seth Quinn spoke again. "That child... Was it you who had her sent to me?"

Jenna Quinn deflated. She had only mentioned Clara Grant’s name, and Seth had already figured this much out.

’Seth is so smart. It looks like no matter what excuse I come up with, I’ll never be able to fool him!’

"...Yes." It was a reluctant admission, but she had no choice.

"Look, I sacrificed Cherie just so you could find a girl you like and who likes you back. I did it all for your own good, so don’t blame your big sis, okay...?"

"By making her think I’m an irresponsible scumbag who sleeps around, are you sure she’d even give me the time of day?"

Seth Quinn’s tone was light and breezy, but Jenna Quinn could sense the danger lurking beneath it.

"Heh heh heh, I didn’t think it through, I didn’t think it through... But who is our Seth? With your charm, getting her wrapped around your finger will be a piece of cake."

She quickly seized the opportunity to lay on the flattery!

Fortunately, Seth Quinn just shot her a sidelong glance before changing the subject. "So, Sis thought I was the one in the marriage alliance with the Grant family, and since you don’t like Chloe Grant, you decided to pull a switch?"

"Seth, you’re a genius!"

She doubled down on the flattery!

Only after she said it did she realize something. "So you also know that Clara Grant is Cedric Grant’s daughter?"

"I just found out, too."

Seth Quinn’s left index finger tapped lightly on the armrest of the sofa a few times. Then he asked, "Is Cherie still with Clara Grant?"

"Mhm," Jenna Quinn nodded. "But I’m going to pick him up right away."

"Why bring him back?"

"...Huh?" ’Since Seth already said he’s interested in Clara Grant, he’ll naturally find a way to pursue her on his own from now on.’

’Cherie’s mission is complete, so why should he stay there? Besides, the folks at home have already given her an ultimatum to bring Cherie home soon.’

"Since he’s already there, let him be a little more useful."
