A Night of Desire-Chapter 138: Another Actor?

Miles Quinn didn’t know about Cherie’s "mission." He simply thought his older sister was afraid their father would get angry at the sight of her and take it out on Cherie. That’s why she had kept him away for a few days, only daring to bring him back now that their father had calmed down.

"My sister is my uncle’s happiness!" Cherie replied, his eyes sparkling and his voice bright.

Miles grew even more confused. "Who’s your sister?"

"Clara Grant."

Miles froze, his gaze turning to Seth, full of questions. ’Clara Grant? My brother’s happiness?’

’What’s the connection between them?’

Meanwhile, Seth was staring right back at him, unblinking, as if trying to see right through him.

Miles found his brother’s gaze strange, and a little cold. He even forgot why he had looked at him in the first place and subconsciously averted his eyes.

But to Seth, this unconscious movement looked a lot like evasion.

Seth’s gaze grew colder. ’Could it be that Miles likes Clara Grant, too?’

"Cherie, my sweet boy, you even know how to make sacrifices for your uncle’s happiness? How can you be so adorable?"

Sienna Hale was amused by Cherie’s grown-up tone. She reached over, scooped him out of Theodore Quinn’s arms, and held him close, planting a kiss on his soft, pale cheek.

’The little one had been nestled in the old man’s arms ever since he walked in. It was her turn to hold him for a while.’

Cherie smiled and kissed his grandmother back. "Of course!"

"So, how did your mission go, Cherie? Are your sister and uncle now..."

Jenna was impatient and had been dying to ask what was going on between Clara Grant and Seth. She quickly chimed in, but she was only halfway through her sentence when Seth cut her off.

"We—Clara Grant and I—already registered our marriage this morning."

Seth’s calm, unhurried, and nonchalant words landed like a bombshell, leaving everyone stunned.

"What did you say? You and Clara... Clara Grant registered your marriage? You’re married?"

The first to react was Miles. He wasn’t just shocked; he was utterly floored.

’When did my brother even meet Clara? And they got married so suddenly? How come I never heard him or Clara mention anything about it?’

"What? Is there a problem?" Seth raised a handsome eyebrow as he looked at his younger brother.

Miles seemed to sense the hostility from his brother. After a moment of shock, he quickly waved his hands. "Of course it’s okay. I was just curious when you and Clara got together."

"Miles, you know Clara Grant?" Sienna’s sharp ears had caught Miles calling her ’Clara.’

"Mom, I forgot to tell you, Clara Grant goes to the same school as Miles. She’s also in the acting program, just a year behind him," Jenna explained quickly, realizing she hadn’t given her parents many details about Clara before.

’Though, she hadn’t known that Miles actually knew Clara Grant. She just guessed they knew each other because they were schoolmates.’

"Oh..." Sienna drew out the word, then seemed to let out a sigh. "Another actress, huh?"

She seemed somewhat displeased. Having Miles as an actor in the family was already tiring enough in her opinion, and Clara Grant was a girl.

’A young woman, always away filming... it just wasn’t ideal.’

’Besides, Seth’s wife wouldn’t just be a daughter-in-law of the Quinn family; she would be its future matriarch.’

’She wasn’t comfortable with an actress taking on that role.’
