A Night of Desire-Chapter 124: Because She’s Already Married to Me
"Miss..."
Clara Grant looked up and saw a waiter standing in front of her. She quickly raised a finger to her lips, signaling for him to be quiet.
Then, before Seth Quinn and Faye Jennings could turn around, she quickly stood up and, feigning as if she had just arrived, calmly walked over and sat down in the seat opposite them.
Although Seth Quinn hadn’t explicitly accepted her feelings, he hadn’t rejected them either. Besides, some things didn’t need to be spelled out.
So, Faye Jennings automatically assumed he had accepted her.
Therefore, she was still lost in her own joy at that moment and didn’t seem to notice that Clara Grant had returned.
As for Seth Quinn, Clara Grant glanced at him. He was elegantly eating his steak with a fork, showing no intention of acknowledging her at all.
Originally, she had already made up her mind. ’Since I don’t like Seth Quinn, I can tolerate it even if he has an affair.’
But for some reason, watching him nonchalantly eat the steak she had personally cut for him, she felt a growing bitterness.
So, she couldn’t hold back.
After glancing at Seth Quinn, she looked at Faye Jennings and asked, "Faye, where is Seth Quinn?"
Hearing her words, Seth Quinn’s hand paused slightly before he resumed his movements as if nothing had happened.
Faye Jennings, on the other hand, finally tore her gaze away from Seth Quinn. Looking at Clara Grant with a mix of confusion and bewilderment, she replied, "Seth Quinn... isn’t he right here?"
Clara Grant glanced at Seth Quinn again, raising an eyebrow with a mocking glint in her eyes. "Oh, is he? I thought a ghost was sitting next to you."
Faye Jennings didn’t get it at first, but Seth Quinn immediately understood the meaning behind her words.
’Is she mocking me for being full of lies? I just said I wasn’t used to other women sitting next to me, and now Faye Jennings is sitting right beside me.’
In response to her sarcasm, not only did Seth Quinn not get angry, but the corners of his lips curled up slightly, as if he were in a good mood.
In fact, he had seen Clara Grant out of the corner of his eye the moment she sat down behind them.
For some reason, he’d suddenly wanted to know how she would react if another woman confessed to him, or if he acted ambiguously with another woman.
’Would she care? Would she get jealous? Or would she be indifferent, not caring at all?’
That was why he hadn’t immediately pulled his hand away when Faye Jennings grabbed it, why he’d said what he did afterward, and why he hadn’t driven Faye away even after Clara Grant had come over and sat down.
’Since her tone is resentful and displeased, doesn’t that mean she’s unhappy? She does care if I’m with another woman.’
And so, of course, he was happy.
However, he had to know when to stop. ’It wouldn’t be good to let the misunderstanding go too deep, really piss her off, and make her want to run away.’
Seth Quinn put down his fork. Just as he was about to say something to Clara Grant, she ignored him completely and turned to Faye Jennings. "So, like I was saying, Faye, you can’t believe a man’s lies. In the end, you’ll be the one who gets hurt." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
There were some things she couldn’t say, but she felt she should at least give Faye Jennings a warning so she wouldn’t be fooled by this beast.
"What lies? Clara, don’t tell me you’ve been deceived by a man before, and that’s why you think you can’t trust anything they say?"
Faye Jennings finally noticed the strange tone in her voice. She assumed Clara Grant had overheard her conversation with Seth Quinn and was now jealous, which was why she was saying such things to warn her off.
Clara Grant moved her lips, about to speak, but Seth Quinn cut in first. "It’s impossible for her to be deceived by a man. No other man has the chance."
Then, while both women were completely unprepared, he unhurriedly dropped a bombshell.
"Because she’s already married to me."
