A Luna for Alpha Kieran-Chapter 47: Churn
Chapter 47: Churn
Autumn hadn’t even waited a full second after the door clicked shut behind Kieran.
She tossed the sheets back like they were on fire and flung her legs over the edge of the bed.
Big mistake.
The second her bare feet hit the floor, her knees buckled. Vision blurred, room tilting like a drunk carousel.
She let out a quiet curse and nearly face planted...until Mango’s arms caught her.
"Now, where do you think you are going?" Mango asked, half amused, half exasperated, as she steadied her.
"Getting out of here, of course..." Autumn muttered, trying to sound nonchalant as she gripped Mango’s sleeve for support. Her heart thudded too fast, and tiny white spots danced at the edges of her vision. "I am done...I need to get out."
"Out of where, exactly?" Mango guided her back towards the chair, dragging it forward and lowering her into it. "Sit your ass down before you hit the floor again and I have to stitch you back up."
Autumn sighed as she sagged into the chair, her fingers curling weakly around the armrest. "Out of this goddamn pack..." she muttered with a tired edge to her voice. "This land. For good." A pause. " But after I meet my sister, of course."
The sass in her tone faded mid sentence. Her voice grew smaller. "I really never thought I would ever get to see her again in this lifetime..."
She paused. Her fingers rubbed the edge of her sleeve.
"I guess I should be grateful," she added, then rolled her eyes. "Thanks to Kieran...Bastard."
She spat the name like it tasted foul, but there was no venom behind it. Only exhaustion. And something that sounded dangerously like longing.
Mango did not interrupt. She just crossed her arms and leaned against the edge of the table, watching her carefully.
Autumn gave her head a tiny shake.
Another mistake. The motion made her flinch, her stomach churned and she immediately felt like throwing up.Damn! What was wrong with her body!
"I can’t even ask him how he got her back," she murmured, mostly to herself. "I mean, what would I even say?..."
She looked up at Mango then, her expression unreadable. "I guess I should get used to my life flipping upside down overnight. Again. And again. It’s not the first time."
She shrugged, her voice was hollow, but a flicker of strength sparked beneath it. "Anyways," she said, rising slowly and using the chair for balance this time, "life goes on."
She walked around it and wrapped her arms tightly around Mango, resting her chin on the woman’s shoulder. "Out of everything that happened to me in my short time here," she said quietly, "you were the best. Thank you, Mango. For everything."
Mango’s arms circled her instantly, tighter than expected. Her cheek pressed to Autumn’s temple.
Neither of them said anything for a long moment. The room was quiet except for their breathing.
Who knows if they wept or not, but when they finally pulled apart, both wiped their cheeks.
"I will get going then," Autumn said, straightening her spine as best as she could.
Mango did not try to stop her.
She just gave a short nod and muttered, "Don’t forget to punch him one more time for me."
Autumn smirked. "Only if he shows his stupid face again...I hope he doesn’t."
Then she stepped out the door.
The hallway was quiet. Cold.
Autumn braced a hand against the wall as she made her way down the corridor.
Her head still throbbed, her side still ached, but there was something fierce in her walk.
Like a woman who had already survived the fire. And wasn’t afraid to burn again.
Kieran still leaned against the wall, listening. but as soon as he heard the stumble he moved... out on sight quickly.
She didn’t seem to see him at first...too focused on putting one foot in front of the other. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
But then she froze. Kieran had forgotten she could sense him just fine, smell him... it was he who couldn’t.
Their eyes met.
For a heartbeat, neither spoke.
Then Autumn’s lip curled. "You are still here?"
Kieran pushed off the wall, blood still smeared under his nose. "Yeah," he said simply.
She scoffed, turning away. "Pathetic." Like she wanted to but had no energy left in her to fight.
He did not argue.
Just watched as she limped down the hall.
Mango appeared in the doorway, arms crossed. "You gonna let her go just like that?"
Kieran’s fingers flexed at his sides. "No."

Autumn’s steps were slow.
The corridor seemed to stretch endlessly ahead of her...her movements were visibly troubled.
She hugged the wall for balance, pausing at one of the tall windows and turning her head slightly to glance outside.
The courtyard still pulsed with music and laughter. The feast hadn’t yet ended. Though some guests were already leaving. Others danced, drank, and clinked goblets in merriment.
But her sister...Lyla...she wasn’t there.
Autumn squinted, searching the crowd for even a glimpse of her. A flicker of her dark hair.
Nothing!
She searched once more...very careful...so as not to catch a glimpse of her father... she knew he was there... but she prayed with her body and soul that she didn’t have to face him... ever.
Then she turned back to the hallway when she found no trace of Lyla, continuing forward, only for her eyes to catch something that made her freeze.
Her breath hitched!
The corridor just ahead was extensively adorned. Flowers curled up the pillars. Twinkling candles lined the walls, soft petals scattered in delicate trails across the floor like a path laid for a queen.
It was the hallway leading to Kieran’s room.
Autumn stopped walking. Her heart stuttered, once, twice, before pounding so hard it made her ears ring.
Her gaze traced the blooming roses, the golden ribbons, the gentle, intimate glow.
Of course. It was his wedding night.
A jagged breath left her.
It all hit her again...once more.
Her sister was the bride. Kieran’s bride.
That room... That bed... That night...
Autumn swayed.
A sharp, electric pain jolted through her abdomen. She gasped and reached for the wall, her palm slapping against the stone as her knees buckled.
Her stomach churned violently, bile rising in her throat with terrifying speed.
The thought of Kieran with her sister...touching her...kissing her...NO....NO...nooooo...It sent a dizzying, sickening wave through Autumn’s entire body. She shook her head violently.
Her throat burned.
Her mouth opened, but only a cracked sound came...and then....She threw up.
Violently.Messy.Right there in the decorated hallway.
Her chest heaved as she gripped the wall harder, staring down at the mess on the polished floor, breath shallow and horrified.
The bitter taste burned her tongue. Her cheeks flushed with shame.Panic set in.
Her lungs couldn’t catch air fast enough. She staggered back a step and nearly fell again.
Footsteps hurried towards her.
Two maids appeared from around the corner. They halted in shock, staring at the scene before them...the hallway of the Alpha’s wedding night, covered in vomit!!It was like a horror story!
One immediately dropped to her knees, mumbling a prayer under her breath as she started scrubbing. Her hands trembled.
The second maid did not move.
Instead, she narrowed her eyes at Autumn and accused straight and square. "Did you do this on purpose?"
Autumn blinked at her, dazed, lips parted but no words forming.
"You disgust me," the maid snapped, stepping forward. "Ruining your own sister’s night like this? What is wrong with you? No wonder your father hates you! "
Autumn flinched.
Another voice joined from behind. A third maid, older, arms crossed and expression tight with disdain.Autumn perhaps remembered her. She was one of the maids who had scrubbed Autumn’s flesh away, the night they had ’prepared’ her for Kieran, the first time.
"Jealousy will rot you from the inside out," she hissed. "You couldn’t stand to see your sister happy, so you tried to ruin it...hoping Alpha would come running back to you?Seriously?"
"No," Autumn croaked, but it was too soft. Too fragile.
" Didn’t I tell you. Our Alpha isn’t easily satisfied. At least not in bed. He needs something new all the time. Just because he touched you a couple of times more than us... Doesn’t make you special. Yes the Goddess played a joke pairing you up with him. But wake up. Your days are over. You are not the only whore Alpha ever took to bed! No point being jealous of his Luna! You understand? "
Before Autumn could actually understand...another wave of nausea surged. She turned away, clutching her stomach...and vomited again.
The maids stepped back in utter disgust.
Autumn wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, breathing hard.
The maids were still muttering, still glaring as she heaved. And one of them shoved a damp cloth at her.
"Here!Clean it up yourself, you wretched..."
"Enough."
A voice cut through the corridor like a blade.
Alpha Kieran!!!
He stood there, his expression unreadable, his gaze fixed on Autumn. The maids froze, then immediately bowed their heads, backing away not even trying to explain.Too scared.
Autumn didn’t look at him. Couldn’t.
Her hands trembled.
She felt weak.Shit! Why did she feel so weak? It definitely had to do with the fortress and what they did to her there... it seemed like they didn’t just take her blood... They left her body in a wrecking mess!
And she hated it...hated being weak.
Kieran stepped forward, his boots silent against the floor.
" All three of you, get out of here! "
They looked terrified before scurrying away like mice.
He didn’t speak to Autumn. Just bent down, took the cloth the maid had dropped, and... Cleaned the mess himself.
Autumn’s breath paused...she let out a gasp.
But Kieran didn’t care. He wiped the floor slow, his jaw tight. When he was done, he stood up, tossing the soiled cloth aside.
Then, without a word, he reached for Autumn.
She flinched.
His hand paused midair.
For a heartbeat, neither moved.
Then he came closer to her ears and whispered.
"You look like a mess, Autumn. You need to lie down," he said, voice low.
Autumn laughed...a broken, hollow sound. "Where? Your room?" Her voice cracked. "I think that’s kinda occupied."
Kieran’s expression darkened. "Autumn... "
" What?!! "
Without another word, Kieran scooped her up and flung her over his shoulder.
