A Hospital in Another World?-Chapter 831: Teacher, Save Me! I Don’t Want to be Taken to the Red-light District
Garrett thought that the so-called review meeting, with legendary mages attending, would take place in a large conference room. The legendary mages would be seated at the head, with the review committee members discussing, debating, and reporting to the legendary mages.
As for these legendary disciples, of course, they would sit obediently below, listening to the committee members chatting. Oh no, the so-called “sitting obediently below” might just be his illusion. Several of his teacher’s disciples, in terms of age and level, were all higher than the committee members.
After waiting and waiting, even after lunch and tea, his teacher hadn’t moved an inch. He sat behind that giant mahogany desk, leisurely brewing coffee, pouring cup after cup. It seemed like he was playing with coffee art?
Several senior brothers and sisters were also busy with their own tasks, either reading journals, grading student papers, or closing their eyes slightly. It was unclear whether they were meditating or thinking about spell configurations.
Garrett looked around, clueless. He wanted to ask, “Aren’t we going to the meeting room?” but didn’t dare to, so he tried to find something to pass the time. When two o’clock arrived, everything suddenly changed, like the world had shifted.
The sky was no longer the office ceiling but a dark, seemingly infinite expanse.
The ground was no longer the office’s wooden floor but a soft cloud that felt normal to walk on.
In the not-too-distant distance, electric birds, electric snakes, and electric fish swam joyfully~~~
His teacher’s demi-plane?!
His teacher’s, connected from the meditation world to reality, materialized demi-plane?!
Why did he pull me in now without any prior notice! If I had known, I would have worn a shielding suit today!
Help!
Garrett silently shrank. Then, he noticed his senior brothers and sisters sitting around him, smiling, relaxed, without any tension of being electrocuted.
His teacher sat comfortably in front of him, in a semi-circular rocking chair, swaying slightly back and forth.
Looking further, it was like looking through a transparent glass wall, directly into the review committee’s meeting room. From the angle, it seemed to be in the ceiling corner, looking down at a 45-degree angle?
In the center was an oval conference table with eight people seated, each in a high-backed chair;behind them, a row of chairs against the wall was filled with people who appeared to be participants providing information.
As the “camera” panned around, Garrett first saw Mrs. Alva and the necromancer Archmage Edgar. Soon, the review committee members slightly raised their heads, nodded in greeting, and one of them raised his voice:
“Let’s report the situation first. Recently, the King of the Brolin Kingdom, together with the Radiant Church, issued a decree to the Nederland region.”
As he spoke, he thoughtfully projected a map of the continent, quickly zooming in on the Brolin Kingdom’s regional map, and projected the various decrees on the wall. Soon, an old, feeble female voice interjected, trembling in surprise: 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
“Has the church gone mad? Following such nonsense? What good does this do them?”
Who was this?
Garrett looked inquisitively at Archmage Carlisle beside him. His senior brother stared at the screen, seemingly engrossed, while a line of text lit up in front of Garrett:
Lady Endorf.
Oh, it was the legendary astrologer, Lady Endorf... So, this meeting was offline for the review committee members and relevant archmages, with the legends observing online?
And these disciples watched online through the connections established by the legends but couldn’t speak?
“The church shouldn’t be crazy.” A review committee member Garrett didn’t recognize slightly bowed:
“After the destruction of the treasure fleet, the church suffered heavy losses. To gather strength and reorganize their offensive, they also want to amass wealth... And the relatively prosperous Nederland region, far from the church’s core ruling area and closely connected to us, has become a target.”
Lady Endorf “oh-ed” and fell silent. In front of his teacher, an oval light spot suddenly lit up on the light screen, a handsome face appeared in the center, with slightly smiling peach blossom eyes:
“Can’t figure this out... Lady Endorf really only focuses on the stars above, never caring about human morals!” Who was this?
How did he get in?
Garrett quickly glanced at the screen. The review committee members had already started discussing, going back and forth, spitting everywhere. It seemed that no one heard this comment, and no one reacted.
So, this unknown commenter was also a legend? Besides online observation, legends had encrypted channels for private commentary?
It must have been a private connection, at least Lady Endorf didn’t react. The Lord of Thunder, however, seemed very familiar with the person, slowly retorting:
“What about you? You don’t care about the stars above, and I haven’t seen you care about human morals either!”
“Who said! On Fortley Street, Ellang Street, Monson Street in Nevis, countless broken hearts have been comforted by me!”
Garrett quickly looked straight ahead, pretending he heard nothing. These streets, he had seen on death records, were famous red-light districts in Nevis... Comforting people’s hearts in such areas?
Esteemed legendary mage, why do you talk about this so proudly!
He clearly wasn’t good at pretending. The legend on the screen turned his gaze and immediately stared at him:
“Hey, there’s a new kid here? Christine, is this your... youngest student? Named Garrett Nordmark? The rubber bag invention is yours? Nice, nice, let’s hang out sometime.”
Garrett wished he could bury his head in the clouds.
You’re a legend! Could you be any more shameless! Teacher, save me, I don’t want to be dragged away by him!
“Do you think he’s you?” The Lord of Thunder finally couldn’t stand it:
“Little Garrett has never been to such places! He invented that thing to prevent disease transmission, not to provide convenience for you. Don’t think about taking him to weird places! Believe it or not, I’ll hit you!”
After saying that, the oval light screen flickered, sizzled, and disappeared, obviously disrupted by the Lord of Thunder. He turned to Garrett and said:
“That guy is the conjuration specialist, [Time Walker] Legendary McDowell, the council’s famous playboy, always wandering in different planes, spending thirteen months a year away from Nevis. He won’t force you, just don’t fall for his tricks.”
“Thank you, teacher!”
Garrett let out a big sigh of relief. The Lord of Thunder smiled faintly: “But if I find out you wanted to go yourself...”
“Then it must be for medical purposes!”
