A Farmer's Journey To Immortality-Chapter 469: Humeyin’s Breakthrough
The Blackblood Lord looked back at Aksai and smiled before speaking further.
"Boy, I've seen you operate the Heretic Dao formation in Holy Land Torel," he said.
"Even though you are only in the Foundation Building stage, your Mudra weaving is precise. It;s like watching someone performing an art.
Your hands move like those of someone far beyond your age and realm. Your Mantra skills aren't normal either, boy, no matter how you try to hide them.
I could have tried operating on this formation on my own if I was in good health. But in my current state, it is impossible.
But… if we work together, we can bring out the full potential of the Spirit Nirvana Pill."
He stepped closer, holding out the vial toward Aksai.
"So how about it?" he asked. "Will you help this old man?"
There was a pause before he added, "Of course, in return, I'll grant you one reasonable wish. Something within my reach."
Aksai looked at the pill, then at the formation, and then finally at Humeyin, who was quietly watching them from the side.
Now it made sense—why the Blackblood Lord was willing to bring him here, why he had revealed his daughter's hidden existence even though many elders of the sect probably didn't know about her.
This wasn't just about trust. It was about need. The Blackblood Lord needed his skills.
Aksai gave a small nod. Although he had kept most of his cards hidden when it came to his Mudra-weaving skills, hiding things from a Core Formation Lord was indeed difficult.
Since his skills had been somewhat exposed anyway, he might as well go with the flow and take advantage of them. As such, Aksai replied quickly.
"I'll help." Then after a moment of thought, he added, "But I have two conditions."
The Blackblood Lord raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.
"First," Aksai said, "I'd like a small residue of the pill. Just enough to study its makeup. I want to understand its effects properly."
Aksai had Heretic Dao inheritance related to alchemy. There were so many methods in the Heretic Dao to reverse engineer and extract a recipe from an alchemy item if he were to possess a sample.
Aksai could always rely on strange techniques and cultivation methods otherworlds to improve his Spirit Root Aptitude. But that didn't mean he would not make use of Dadangar's methods if they were available to him.
Earlier, Aksai had no right to ask for the sample from the Spirit Nirvana Pill. However, the Blackblood Lord had provided him with an opportunity himself.
Even if Aksai fails to decipher the pill recipe completely or creates a shoddy product in the end, it would be worth the trouble.
Even a tiny improvement in the SPirit Root Aptitude could give him unimaginable benefits. He could then rely on the resources from the Everwood Farm as well as the otherworlds to compensate for the lack of quality with quantity.
In short, even if he failed to get the Spirit Nirvana Pill himself, he would gain a lot in the future.
Aksai waited for the Blackblood Lord's decision. The latter didn't keep him waiting for long.
"That's reasonable. I agree," the Blackblood Lord said with a nod.
"Alright," Aksai nodded before speaking further. "My second request is also very simple." Aksai continued, "I'd like a copy of your Spirit formation. The one that enhances pill effects."
The Blackblood Lord looked at him for a moment. Then he gave a short laugh.
"You have guts, boy," he said. "Asking for one of my sect's crucial 3rd Order formations as if you are asking for candy. But…. since I have accepted you as my disciple, it's fine."
The Blackblood Lord then laughed again, more heartily this time.
"Very well. You'll get both of your requests. Just don't mess up tonight."
Aksai bowed his head lightly. "I won't."
***
After some time.
The night had deepened, and a cool stillness hung over the chamber.
Aksai stood quietly inside one of the support-type Array Eyes of the Spirit formation. Faint lines of glowing runes circled around his feet, pulsing slowly like a heartbeat.
The floor beneath him shimmered with carefully drawn spiritual symbols, arranged with exact precision. His hands were raised slightly in front of his chest, fingers ready to weave the first Mudra.
Across from him, the Blackblood Lord stood inside another Array Eye—the control-type one. His tall frame was relaxed but focused. Power flickered around him in waves, like heat rising from a fire.
In the very center of the formation sat Humeyin. She was cross-legged on a low platform, her posture straight and her eyes closed.
Her breathing was slow, steady, and deep—following the rhythm of her Tantra, the strange and powerful Spirit cultivation method tied to her special Physique.
Her body glowed faintly. It was hard to tell where her skin ended and light began.
Then, without a word, both Aksai and the Blackblood Lord began moving their hands.
One Mudra after another, their fingers twisted and shaped the air in practiced patterns. They moved together, almost as if performing some kind of ritual in sync.
Their Mudras looked nearly identical—but in the air around them, the Essence Equations that formed were completely different.
Soft glowing runes appeared in front of Aksai, thin and sharp, glowing a deep blue. Meanwhile, the runes around the Blackblood Lord pulsed a deep red and gold, heavier in shape and force.
This difference came from the Mantras they each chanted under their breath.
The two Mantras were silent to others, but Aksai could feel the sound of his own voice echoing inwardly, stirring the Spirit energy within and around him. The formation responded slowly at first, then faster as it came to life.
Lines of light traced themselves across the chamber floor. Faint hums rose as the 3rd Order Spirit formation locked into place. Its structure stabilized, with three rings of energy gently spinning around Humeyin's position.
The Blackblood Lord looked up, his voice calm but filled with emotion.
"Little Humeyin," he said, "you can consume the pill now."
At the center, Humeyin opened her eyes. They glowed faintly with silver and violet reflections, like two pools of moonlight.
Father, please be well. I don't want to lose you tonight. I… I am not ready.
She looked at her father for a long moment and sighed before nodding. She raised her hand and a small glass vial appeared in her palm. A thin sealing talisman was wrapped around the stopper.
She peeled the talisman off with care. A soft crackling sound filled the air as the seal dissolved. Then she uncorked the vial.
A faint shimmer filled the space around her as a dark golden pill slowly floated out from the vial. The pill gave off a gentle glow, almost like a miniature sun wrapped in shadows.
Humeyin took a deep breath and leaned forward slightly. She opened her mouth, and the pill floated in, resting on her tongue for just a moment before she swallowed it.
At once, she closed her eyes again and began to cultivate.
Aksai and the Blackblood Lord didn't stop.
Their Mudras continued, their Mantras deepened. The Essence Equations floating in front of them began to move—slowly drifting toward the center of the formation.
Each glowing rune approached Humeyin like a firefly drawn to starlight. One by one, they touched her glass-like body and sank into her skin, vanishing within her.
There was no flash, no burst, no sound. Just quiet absorption.
Her body trembled slightly as the pill's energy began to mix with her Spirit essence. And the formation held, steady and strong, guided by the two cultivators who now worked in perfect sync.
The chamber remained quiet, filled only with the faint hum of the formation and the soft breathing of the three figures within it. A few hours passed just like that.
Then, something began to change. At the center of the formation, Humeyin's body started glowing more brightly.
At first, it was soft and steady—like moonlight caught in still water. But soon, small points of light began to appear across her skin.
They flickered gently, like stars twinkling in the night sky. It was as if someone had scattered stardust across her body, and each speck had come alive.
Aksai narrowed his eyes, focusing his senses.
He could see the light patterns shift with her breath. The glow wasn't just for show—each flicker and pulse carried deep meaning. It was as if they were a form of Essence Equations themselves. Ones that he couldn't understand yet.
The stars on her skin weren't random. They followed the movement of the Spirit essence inside her body. It was a sign of rapid inner transformation.
He paid close attention to her aura. There was something different now.
It hadn't been this deep before. Her presence had turned even more mysterious and layered. It wrapped around her like a veil. If he hadn't known her aura already, he wouldn't have recognized it.
And though he couldn't sense the improvement of her Spirit Root directly—its depth still hidden from him—he could see the signs.
The Spirit essence around her had begun to move unnaturally fast. It twisted, coiled, and surged into her body, as if being pulled by a great force.
'Damn… this pill is awesome. She… she is experiencing a stage breakthrough in her realm. What would it do to a Foundation Building Expert like me?'
Aksai's eyes flickered with expectations and a bit of greed as he looked at the glass-like beauty.
