A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 159 - 151: Dragon Valley
Dusk gradually turned into night.
The light from the twin moons was sprinkled in the valley, as if draping a layer of silver veil over the rugged cliffs. The valley was filled with the acrid scent of dragon blood.
Galos slowly withdrew his claw tips from Tasha’s neck.
The sturdy, scar-faced dragon descended to the ground, and immediately, the dragon group, including it, collectively lowered their bodies, their wing membranes pressed against the ground, emitting a submissive low hum.
"From today on, you are responsible for guarding the valley’s airspace."
Galos’s voice echoed in the valley, saying: "Anyone who trespasses, tear their bodies to pieces."
With the presence of this dragon group, along with a few Kola Giant Eagles, the aerial vigilance didn’t always have to be his concern.
After all, they are creatures with dragon lineage.
The two-legged dragons are powerful enough, ranking just below true dragons.
Despite how quickly they submitted to Galos with reverence and awe, in the eyes of most intelligent beings, the two-legged dragons are incredibly fearsome predators.
The claws can shred steel, the wings can break rocks, and the sharp tail spikes are laced with deadly poison, making them undoubtedly monsters.
The female dragon raised her head first, letting out a shrill cry.
"As you wish, the two-legged dragons will tear apart all your enemies."
She spoke.
The dragons also raised their heads, their voices boosted by a deep roar, intertwining under the night sky.
At the same time, two other dragon shadows spiraled down from the sky.
The scales of Red Dragon Samantha burned like fiery flames under the moonlight, while Iron Dragon Solrog’s body gleamed with a metallic sheen.
Their arrival caused a brief commotion among the dragon group, most instinctively shrank their necks.
This was the awe that sub-dragons couldn’t help but feel in front of true dragons.
Except for Tasha, the other dragons struggled to resist the bloodline suppression.
Only Flying Dragon Tasha, who submitted to Galos, dared to show an unruly side when facing the red and iron dragons, raising her head high and defiantly staring at the two young dragons.
Just as she declared to Galos.
She respects strength, not bloodlines.
Although the red and iron dragons were upper-rank dragons, as young dragons, they weren’t enough to make Tasha feel awe and respect. Galos was an exception; his strength had conquered the fierce dragon leader.
"Oh, my dear brother."
Samantha lifted her chin slightly, her eyes narrowed, and said, "Among your newly acquired group of sub-species, there seems to be one who lacks reverence for true dragons."
After speaking, her gaze was sharp like a branding iron, staring straight at Tasha, and she said, "Inferior breed! Who allowed you to look directly at me?!"
The dragon leader spread her massive wings, growling fiercely, "You have no right to challenge me; you should be grateful you’re not facing me alone."
With the red dragon’s irritable nature, she found the sub-species’ provocation unbearable.
Bang!
Samantha’s foot shattered the ground, her dragon wings flapping, accelerating as she charged at Tasha like a molten projectile.
Caught off guard.
The dragon leader was knocked away by the ’dragon chariot.’
Despite being smaller than the dragon, younger, and ranked lower in life level, the naturally strong body of the red dragon, when charged at full speed, still had an unstoppable force.
Flapping her wings.
The dragon leader steadied herself in the air.
She bared her teeth and roared, prepared to counterattack Samantha, who continued her charge.
"Enough."
Galos intervened at the right moment.
The young red dragon was likely not a match for the dragon.
With the dragon leader now at level 10, her life level was the same as Galos, two levels higher than Samantha, and unlike typical dragons, her well-trained body was exceptionally robust, an anomaly.
The attack just now had vented some of Samantha’s discontent, and the dragon paid a slight price for her arrogant attitude.
Now was the time to stop.
Galos’s voice, though not loud, was like a bucket of ice water dousing the brewing conflict.
Even the enraged red dragon recoiled and regained her clarity, halting her charge.
Tasha also quickly withdrew her attack stance, turning her fury into submission.
The newly collected dragon leader deeply bowed her head, using the gesture to express submission to the Iron Dragon, showing awe for strength and compliance to the Judge.
"You are one of Galos’s followers; rejoice in this."
"Otherwise, I would have twisted your neck by now."
Samantha said, with flames spewing from her mouth.
The dragon leader remained silent, no longer provocative. Two hundred years of tempering endowed her with intelligence beyond ordinary monsters; she understood the need to yield appropriately.
The power contained within the young red dragon’s earlier collision also surprised Tasha, calming her down.
Dragons grow stronger far faster than she does.
Before long, she would be completely surpassed by the red dragon.
After pondering for a moment for the betterment of the group, the dragon leader suppressed her defiance, taking a deep breath, lowering her head to the red dragon as well, saying, "I apologize for my offense; please forgive me."
Upon hearing this, Samantha was slightly surprised, then lifting her head high like a proud, victorious swan.
"Fool, I disdain to concern myself with sub-species."
She stated, unable to conceal the joy on her face.
Conquering powerful and defiant creatures was far more satisfying than intimidating the cowardly, making Samantha very happy, dispelling her earlier displeasure, even finding the dragon leader much more agreeable.
"Tasha, go count your kin’s numbers, ages, and report back to me."
Galos said.
The dragon leader nodded, then looked towards the western cliff, letting out a sharp whistle.
Soon, several juvenile two-legged dragons poked their heads out, hesitantly descending.
Previously, the main combatants against the Giant Wolf Knights were young and adult dragons.
The younger dragonlings had remained inside the cave.
Including Tasha, there were ten young and strong dragons in the group, and there were many more dragons overall, with a rough estimate exceeding forty in total, making for a sizeable dragon group, a pleasantly surprising encounter and conquest.
While the dragons were assessing the group situation.
Iron Dragon Solrog scanned the valley before coming over, saying, "This will be our new beginning; I suggest we name the new territory."
Galos nodded: "Sure, what ideas do you have?"
He asked the three dragons.
Elf Dragon Vera was the first with a suggestion: "Fairy Spirit Valley!"
She spun lightly, sprinkling light powder that shimmered in the night, "It’s so beautiful; just hearing it lifts one’s mood!"
Samantha glanced at the Elf Dragon and said, "A weak name, with no deterrent effect."
The Elf Dragon retorted defiantly, "It’s beautiful and sounds like a fun, carefree place."
The Red Dragon ignored the Elf Dragon’s words.
She preferred exaggerated and grandiose names, snorting sparks from her nostrils: "Ashen Domain is befitting of our renown! It would make enemies tremble!"
It’s a name well-suited to the Red Dragon’s tastes.
Galos looked at Iron Dragon.
Iron Dragon pondered briefly, saying, "A place forged of steel and ice should be named for power—I propose, Black Iron Domain."
Sounds like a place for smithing.
Not good.
Galos shook his head slightly and asked the dragon leader, "Tasha, what was this place originally called?"
The dragon leader turned back and replied, "Our kin called this place Broken Claw Cliff."
She pointed with her tail tip to the eastern cliff: "Through the years, many young dragons proved their courage here, allowing themselves to fall towards the ground, competing to see who could take flight at the last second. During this, many dragons broke their claws."
Named Broken Claw Cliff due to broken claws.
Such a simple naming method.
Finally, Iron Red Dragon’s gaze swept over the disputing companions and then across the entire valley.
The rugged cliffs undulated like dragon spines, the ice lake reflecting the twin moons, beast herds hidden in the night, dragon nests dotting the cliffs.
"This will become the domain of the Dragon Race, perhaps welcoming more dragons in the future."
His voice echoed through the valley, the dragon’s prestige halting all arguments, concluding with: "Let’s name it—Dragon Valley."
