The Primeval Era-Chapter 149: Garden I
The night passed as one of immense progress and wonder.
Rain had fallen throughout the darkness onto a surrounding landscape of more than twenty miles across, the region centered on the Purple Stone Tribe receiving blessings from clouds that refused to dissipate. Hour after hour, those radiant droplets descended onto stone and soil and flesh, transforming everything they touched with Mana so pure it seemed to glow.
And the changes were unfathomably grand.
At this point in time, as the rays of the morning sun landed on his shoulders, the cloud far above radiated a faint blue light across a span of more than twenty miles. It remained suspended in the skies without dispersing, connected to his consciousness through pathways of blood and essence that had only grown stronger throughout the night. The cloud was part of him now, as permanent as his beast form resting on the peak above.
Damian was looking up at it when Uncle Adam approached.
The old warrior’s eyes seemed to shine even brighter than the stars had the night before, that weathered face carrying emotions too complex to name!
He had witnessed impossible things. He had felt the rain transform his own cultivation, pushing him through barriers that should have taken years to overcome. He had watched the young man he had protected for eight years become something out of legends.
He didn’t even know what was going on in his own mind at this moment.
"The...Emperor and Empress would be so proud."
His voice emerged rough with feeling.
"You are gradually becoming more and more like the figures we would only hear about in legends. Because even I have no idea how to understand you transforming part of yourself into a beast and then ushering rain that transforms an entire tribe into Warriors in a single night."
He shook his head slowly.
"Even now, all those in the tribe wish to meet you and give their thanks to you, but Grandmother Essun has kept them at bay. They also want to see. They want to see..."
The old warrior paused.
"Young Lugal, will you ever truly tell me what happened to you?"
The person who had escaped with him and lived with him for years of his life asked such a question with eyes that deserved an answer. This man had sacrificed everything for him. Had given up any chance at a normal existence to protect a prince without power. Had watched over him through eight years of pretending to be something less than what they both were.
Damian nodded while patting the shoulders of this old warrior.
"Soon enough, old man."
Yes, a lot of things had changed. What did not change was the obscure gaze he continued to receive from a different direction as the Holy Daughter sat far ahead of him on the mountain he had raised. Her entire body was surrounded by arcs of white-gold Mana, luminous threads of power circling her form as she meditated. She had made tremendous progress the night before, her cultivation within Vessel Completion solidifying and deepening in ways the rain had facilitated.
She wasn’t looking at him right now, but he could feel her attention nonetheless.
Damian put aside all of this as he closed his eyes and spoke in his mind.
’What are the full changes for the night that passed?’
He was asking the surrounding Mana permeating across his body, his beast body, his cloud body, and everything else nearby for information. The connection he had established through his Second Doctrine responded immediately, feedback transforming into his mind as a flow of information that also formed into white words descending in front of his eyes.
Regional Assessment: Completed.
Timeframe: Approximately 8 hours of sustained Mana rainfall.
Coverage: 23.4 miles radius centered on Purple Stone Tribe.
Previous Classification: Barren Threshold Lands. Stone and dry earth with minimal vegetation. Mana density below habitable standards.
Current Classification: The Cradle of First Flames.
Status: Primordial paradise domain. Self-sustaining Mana ecosystem established.
...!
The Cradle of First Flames. He had apparently created something significant enough to earn a classification. And a paradise domain at that! He had no idea what even such a thing truly meant.
More information flowed.
Terrain Transformation: Complete.
Previous State: Rocky plains, depleted soil, scattered dead vegetation.
Current State: Vibrant multicolored landscape of sustained growth.
Vegetation Composition:
Primary Flora: Crimson-leafed Acacia variants covering 31% of terrain. Leaves produce ambient Mana that feeds surrounding plant life.
Secondary Flora: Golden Baobab clusters covering 18% of terrain. Trunks store purified water that can sustain travelers for weeks.
Tertiary Flora: Blue-stemmed grasslands covering 24% of terrain. Grass filters toxins from soil and air, maintaining environmental purity.
Fruit-Bearing Trees: 12% of terrain. Species include Mana-enhanced varieties of fig, marula, and custard apple. Consumption accelerates minor cultivation.
Agricultural Vegetation: 8% of terrain. Enhanced wheat fields, potato clusters, sorghum patches, and yam groves. Growth cycle reduced to half a day. Yield per harvest increased by factor of seven.
Remaining: Rocky formations, waterways, and open clearings comprising 7% of terrain.
Damian read through this information as his mind struggled to process everything. Over twenty miles of barren wasteland had transformed into farmland and forest and orchards overnight. Enhanced crops with growth cycles and seven times normal yield meant this region could feed tens of thousands.
But the notifications weren’t finished.
Major Features Formed:
Ancient Pillars: 7 massive trees have risen across the domain. Height ranges from 1.2 to 2.1 miles. Trunk diameter ranges from 200 to 400 meters. Classification: Land Trees. Each serves as Mana collection point, drawing energy from atmosphere and distributing to surrounding vegetation. Presence stabilizes entire ecosystem.
Spring of First Waters: Located 3.2 miles northeast of Purple Stone Tribe. Clean water emerging from underground reservoir created by Mana saturation of stone. Water contains trace Primordial Mana. Consumption provides minor healing and cultivation benefits. Flow rate sufficient to support population of 50,000.
Luminous Groves: 4 concentrated areas where vegetation produces natural light during darkness. No external illumination required for nighttime activities within these zones.
Beast Sanctuaries: 3 regions where transformed Primal Beasts have naturally congregated. Beasts within sanctuaries display reduced aggression toward humanoids. Potential for domestication or alliance significantly elevated.
Stone Gardens: 2 areas where Mana crystallization has created formations of solidified energy. Crystals can be harvested for use in cultivation, healing, Salves, or crafting. Regeneration rate: approximately 10% daily.
The Cradle of First Flames is now a self-sustaining paradise domain capable of supporting large-scale civilization. All features will persist as long as source connection remains active.
