A Crazy Love Proposal-Chapter 85 - 61 long enough
Chapter 85: Chapter 61 long enough
Chapter 85 -61 long enough
She took it out; the ring box was a small, square leather case with the lustrous and eerie pattern of snake skin. Gently opening it, inside were two yellow diamond rings.
She suddenly realized why Wen Yangzhi had abruptly asked her to come up to get the cigarettes earlier.
He wanted her to see these couple’s rings.
One ring was larger than the other, obviously meant for a couple.
The two dazzling rings, with the man’s ring slightly wider and inlaid with two rows of orange-yellow small diamonds, weren’t particularly eye-catching but were supremely luxurious and exquisite, like the Chengjiang River reflecting the sunset sky’s myriad colors, resplendent and sparkling.
The ring’s vine-like design, interspersed with yellow diamonds, made it resemble a gingko tree.
Perhaps, this color was more reminiscent of the Maple they had seen when they first met.
The woman’s ring had a distinct maple leaf shape, with the band a twining branch leading to a leaf on the ring face, and a yellow diamond set upon the gingko leaf, equally intense and lustrous.
Yun Yuwan stood still, gazing at the two rings. She felt a numbing sensation that crept from the soles of her feet to the top of her head. She covered her lips, unsure of how to react, as her swelling eyes responded before her consciousness did.
The two rings were stunningly beautiful.
Because yellow diamonds are rare and known as “gold diamonds,” they symbolize a rare and precious love, with warm colors not signifying the passionate feelings of first acquaintance but the affectionate and long-standing warmth of love.
The way he let her find the rings was so calm that it seemed as if it wouldn’t have mattered if she hadn’t come up. Wen Yangzhi simply patted her and asked her to come get the cigarettes.
His demeanor was nonchalant, showing no sign that he intended for her to find the rings.
She picked up the woman’s ring and tentatively slid it onto her finger; it fit perfectly.
On her hand, it couldn’t have been more suitable.
The ardor to cry flooded over her overwhelmingly.
After a moment,
Wen Yangzhi heard the sound of the door opening, but he didn’t look up.
Yun Yuwan, moved and content, joyfully extended her hand in front of Wen Yangzhi:
“Brother, does it look nice?”
The hand with the yellow diamond fell into his line of sight. Wen Yangzhi, who had been focused on bank affairs, slightly lifted his clear and sharp eyes, lids lifting a bit but still serene, simply looking on.
Yun Yuwan, half aggrieved and half delighted, said, “You told me to get the cigarettes, but you actually wanted to give me a ring.”
He glanced at the yellow diamond ring on her ring finger, his gaze lingered for a moment, nonchalantly saying,
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
“And the cigarettes?”
Yun Yuwan suppressed the smile tugging at the corners of her lips and handed them to him from behind.
Wen Yangzhi took them, walked to the balcony, opened the door, and lit a cigarette. Yun Yuwan followed him outside.
She admired the ring on her own against the backdrop of the night sky and moonlight, while Wen Yangzhi reached out, grabbing her fingertips, examining the sparkling diamond ring on her pale, slender hand under the light.
His eyelids drooped, and his face, amidst the clash of light and darkness, appeared even more sharply contoured.
He spoke ambiguously, “It fits perfectly.”
She felt shy, “Yes, it fits perfectly.”
How could it be so perfect; could brother have estimated it just by sight?
He didn’t let go of her hand, fingering her knuckles, intently observing her hand wearing the diamond ring.
He looked so serious, as if reviewing a reference document; she didn’t know if, seeing her with the ring at that moment, he thought of doves in a church or how the ring size was precisely right.
She felt so embarrassed that she couldn’t help biting her lip, resisting the urge to withdraw her hand.
Yet, Wen Yangzhi showed no sign of letting go, still looking down, his eyes noble and upright, with strong brows and starry eyes, though his thick eyelashes lent a slightly bewitching and wicked air, shading his eye corners like a grove’s shadows.
She asked, feeling shy, “Brother, have you seen enough?”
He inhales deeply from his cigarette, the index finger of his other hand tapped the cigarette holder to flick the ash before finally releasing her hand.
He remained silent, simply facing the scenery outside the balcony, standing alone as the wind fluttered his pajama hem, standing steadfast in the wind like a mountain.
His gaze flickering with the light of his cigarette end – the incandescent reflection in his eyes and the extinguishing signifying his inherently aloof and distant nature.
Yun Yuwan hugged his waist from behind; he was too tall, her head couldn’t reach his shoulder, so she pressed against the firm muscles of his back. Their slightly curved and upright posture gave an incomparable sense of security,
“Are these couple’s rings?”
Wen Yangzhi didn’t respond, just lowering his head to take a puff of his cigarette. Amid the wisp of smoke as thin as mountain mist, the night became even more tranquil.
At last, he spoke, “What’s missing from the trust?”
Speaking of this, she indeed had something to say to him, “Actually, there isn’t anything missing. Plus, I’ve been thinking.”
“Speak,” he said concisely.
She moved in front of him to face him, “I don’t want this trust. It’s too much, and holding it makes me feel uneasy. In fact, just knowing uncle’s intention is enough for me.”
