My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon

Chapter 241: Counter

Most men often dreamed of fighting in gigantic battles of valor and glory. It was the male equivalent of girls wishing to fall in love and meet dashing princes on white horses.

It was a universal dream and feeling across all eras and cultures. Something every man could connect with. And right now Elian's blood burned so hot it would consume an entire forest.

Why?

Elian and the Weapons were about to embark on a suicide mission. One in which they were not sure if they could ever come back from.

He was to kill a world ending evil that butchered not one but several galaxies. A being so powerful he couldn't even comprehend.

Yet, he felt no fear.

No.

Despite the odds stacked against him, all he felt was an electrifying excitement that could not be put into words.

It may have been because of the mood or just shock from his latest transformation.

But Elian knew deep down in his bones, if there was one moment in which he would never forget in his entire life not related to Bianca, it would be this.

[Incoming enemies from the upper atmosphere…]

This is…

"2ND LEGION DO NOT WASTE TIME ON THE SMALL FRY! FOCUS ON OUR OBJECTIVE!"

Earlier, Elian and Bianca saw how valiantly, Ned and the 4th legion defended the city. It was like something out a painting. Yet as they ascended, a grim picture started to form.

Woody and the rest of the Weapon's words were correct they had no time to spare.

Rising to the skies, Elian and Bianca saw the true scale they were facing. The 4th Legion was not defending just against one direction. But all of them. Black portals appeared in so many places the land look liked it was breaking apart.

There are too many…

Out of each hole waves of darkness poured out. With their superior senses, the Tyrant and Anchor could see them even from afar. The army that threatened to end all life.

The Weapons of the End.

Many died. Unlike Crestfall city, the other cities around the continent did not have the mighty 2nd legion. And in the short time since the Army of the End arrived, thousands perished in the opening moments.

However, all was not lost, in many parts of the land, patches of white stopped and even consumed the swatches of black.

Elian focused his eyes and saw various armies of the Weapons of Valestra clashing with the invaders. Even up in the Stratosphere, their battle cries reached his ears.

"FOR THE VILLAINESS! FOR THE LIVING WEAPON! FOR OUR HAPPY ENDING!"

Every corner of Earth was the same story, and vast darkness swept across the land only to be nailed in place by small groups of white. Humanoids, animals, golems, they came in all sort of shapes and sizes but they all fought with the same intensity.

Elian seared the sight in his eyes. This was the army he gave birth too. The one that carried out his will millennia even after he left them.

The Weapons of white and gold fought courageously but they also did so much more. They protected the humans, even at the expense of their own wellbeing.

A group of Fralhame wolves running with elderly and children on their backs.

Flame swallows that destroyed a bridge with their own bodies to keep the monsters at bay.

Vast numbers of Naga and Virexans diving into fallen cities all to save the people trying to get away.

They might have come from different worlds yet here they were united in purpose. Under the banner of the Weapons of Valestra they acted in one will.

Kill those you wish to kill but save a hundred times that number.

It was one thing to hear about it but another to see it with ones own eyes. The Heroism Elian saw made his heart want to burst. Bianca who noticed the same thing sobbed while covering her mouth.

However, no amount of courage could overcome swords and claws made of metal.

"Elian!"

Bianca franticly gripped Elian's arm. Unlike Ned's forces which were able to hold, the rest of the locations were not doing so well. Despite the dauntless defense of the other Weapons of Valestra, many of them were taken down.

Even with Bianca's Immortal blessing, the white army was being dismantled.

Though they didn't die outright, the Weapons of Valestra were ravaged and dismembered.

The temperature around Bianca plummeted, 20-meter-long icicles made of Ice VII suddenly formed along the atmosphere. But before she could sent them to reinforce the overwhelmed areas, Elian stretched his arm out in front of her.

His sudden movement caused the Villainess to pause.

"Don't."

"But!"

"I know."

They will die.

The words got caught in Bianca's throat. Though they were not Weapon's Bianca personally created or have even meant, they were her children.

Intelligent beings who chose to follow their way of live. They sacrificed so much only to be given such a miserable end. Bianca turned and looked at the army surrounding her. The 2nd legion with them was uncountable, yet none of them turned back to help.

"…"

Like the shadow cast by the night the enemy covered the entirety of Earth in what seemed like a few minutes. Screams and sounds of battle echoed all around yet their escorts the 2nd legion did nothing but ascend with them.

Elian couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration. He had an inkling. Through memories of metal he saw that what they were seeing was happening not just here but all across the galaxy.

The reason the 4th legion said nothing was because they knew.

If Elian stopped to help each and every one, they could never win this war.

"…"

In order to save the most, they needed to leave Earth. To defend the many, they needed the few to be sacrificed. When reality came at odds with ideals, no ideal comes out unscathed.

Even as Elian and his escort raised their altitude they were attacked by the forces of black. Yet his escorts did not eradicate them all, the 2nd Legion did the bare minimum and moved in lockstep with the Tyrant of Will.

But then when thing seemed bleakest a window pop-up suddenly appeared in front of Elian and Bianca.

[First phase completed. Weapons of Valestra, prepare to begin the counter attack.]

"Counter?"

At exactly that moment, Elian then heard the sharp piercing sounds of something falling from the skies. Their source, large translucent platforms in space.

Like thunder bolts white stakes streaked towards the ground at speeds no living being should be able to withstand. Each seemingly simple object fell harmlessly amidst the sea of black, yet Elian felt incredible power in each of the numerous white meteors.

All of a sudden a sudden bright light erupted at their moment of impact that created catastrophic explosions.

High up in space, neither Elian and Bianca heard the deafening booms, yet they power each showed was like a hundred times more powerful that even nuclear explosions.

Unable to stare at the blinding light, the Tyrant and Anchor shielded their eyes for a moment. After the second past, the appearance of Earth transformed. From a blue planet teeming with life, it turned brown as if the very planet died.

However in exchange the vast armies of black vanished as if they were but a lie.

Frozen in shock at what just happened, Elian and Bianca were left at a lost. They understood what the Weapon's just did, they thought they knew the stakes of fighting with the universe at stake, but now did they only understand.

The Weapon's used Earth as a trap, as the enemy devoted its forces to invade they planet they destroyed it. Annihilating a large chuck of the Tyrant of the End's forces they wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

"…"

Yet it didn't feel like a victory. The cost to destroy Earth was heavy. Ned, Charlotte and the rest of humanity, Elian and Bianca were at a lost at the lengths their armies were willing to go.

[Don't go killing me off just yet.]

Elian grew emotional hearing the voice of friend he thought he had just lost. At that moment the origin of the white stakes became to distort. Like ripples on a quiet lake the objects he saw earlier began to quiver.

"Ned? Where are you?"

[Look up. I am sure you haven't seen anything like this.]

Like a chameleon loosing it's optical camouflage, the large floating structures were suddenly revealed. They were massive space stations that were comparable to the size of Earth's moons.

A video screen suddenly opened in front of Elian and Bianca that took them off guard. It featured Ned and Charlotte smiling in perfect health. Along with them were a pair of familiar faces.

[If you only saw the looks on your faces, it was priceless.]

"YOU SICK BASTARDS!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I FELT WHEN I THOUGH YOU BOTH PERISHED! HAVE SOME SHAME! ESPECIALLY YOU LOTTIE!" Bianca snarled in a tantrum.

One of them a woman deeply intertwined with Elian and Bianca even in other universes.

[That would be my fault lady Bianca, It was one of the plans we intended to use to fool the Tyrant of the End. Welcome back my Tyrant and my Anchor. Katri Valkama reporting for duty.]

"KATRI!" Bianca cheered in glee.

One of the Psychomancers they raised before leaving, she was once a human barely even able to fight monsters. Yet now the beauty and grace she exuded were enough to topple nations.

[More than 70% of humans have been evacuated to the Arks, as for the ones left behind, they chose to become bait to deceive the enemy. It is great to see you once more my Tyrant. Alpha vice commander of the 4th Legion greets the Tyrant of Will.]

Beside her was a handsome man who was in reptilian armor. Although he no longer looked the same Elian and Bianca remembered he had the same aura and calm demeanor they came to associate with the Naga Centaur from Ysh-Natul.

"I see. Thank you for telling us Alpha," Elian said brimming with pride, "and for staying alive till now."

Seeing the preparations the his faction made ahead of time, both Elian and Bianca felt relieved.

"Sigh, please do not do something like that again Katri, its bad for my heart," Bianca begged as she massaged her temples.

Elian couldn't help but glance at Earth. With the amount of destruction done on the planet it was a surprise the system did register it as a dead planet yet. As he looked on it, he noticed the gigantic storms of mana raging across the atmosphere.

Bright stars gathered in those spots them all began to fall like a rain shower back to earth. Focusing his senses Elian felt the birth of millions of new Weapons in Earth's direction. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Look's like Earth will be able to hold for the time being.

[I will try, my Anchor. Fight with ease, the 4th legion and I will ensure our home remains in one piece. My only regret is not seeing the final battle. My book would have benefited greatly from the outcome.]

Hearing the book, Bianca pouted as she chastised Katri.

"The details in the book are overly exaggerated, I still have a bone to pick with you over the contents. Why I could even sue you for libel."

[Fufu, once this is over, I welcome all your criticisms. Just know that my book has topped every romance chart for decades and is considered the greatest written fiction both on earth and in the Empire.]

"YOU TOOK TOO MANY CREATIVE LIBERTIES, YOU LECHEROUS TWAT!"

Elian couldn't help but shake his head. Ever since he came back from the battle with Origin, he was flipping between extreme sadness and relief. It was so like his faction that even as the world marched to it's end, Bianca and Katri bickered about literature.

With the situation on Earth somewhat under control. Elian looked towards towards the east where he felt an ominous feeling. He couldn't see it at the moment, but he knew that it was in this direction his opponent resided in.

The vast darkness of space and the silence it exuded felt suffocating. Yet this was a fight that could not be delayed, ignored not stopped.

I am coming for your head you sick bastard.
