Chapter 796
Chapter 796
Daniel and Ingrid told Anna that they were excited to be back inside a dungeon floor carrying the Insight Spear because it would allow them to increase the level of their classes faster.
“We would only delve into the 20th floor of a beginner dungeon, though, so I assume that it is way below the experience points you will need to level up,” Anna said.
“It doesn’t matter. More than likely, it will be equivalent to us delving into the upper floors of a high-level dungeon without the spear. Before your father left for New Drennor, we had only reached the 10th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon. It was true that we could earn a ton of experience points from that level, but the difficulty was extreme. Without your father’s healing powers, we would have succumbed to the monsters there,” Ingrid told Anna.
“I can’t imagine how Anton delved into such dangerous floors. Before he quit delving, he reached the 65th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon. He told Father and me that if he let us join him on such a floor, we wouldn’t have survived. He said that the monsters there are truly powerful, and he had to focus all of his attention on fighting and couldn’t afford to protect anyone. I’m actually kicking myself right now for not accepting Anton’s offer to bring me to the deeper floors of the Corridor of Amuneta to level up the class that he gave me.”
“May I ask what class your brother gave you? Your father’s Paladin class was the one Anton gave him,” Daniel asked.
“So you know about that, huh. He gave me several options, and I chose the Sorceress class, which was mostly the same as a wizard since it mainly focused on Elemental spells. It’s a little redundant, I know, but the main reason I chose it was not only because it would be easier for me to master such a class, since I’m already a wizard, but the Sorceress class has the Telekinesis spell, which was the spell Anton used to fly. My brother’s flying skills are on par with the Fly spell that Invincible Wizard and above could wield, and I want to have access to such a skill as soon as possible. The Sorceress class also had the Teleport skill, which I can use to fight or escape.”
“The Teleport skill is from the Sorceress class? Your father can teleport, though,” Ingrid asked.
“My father’s Teleport skill came from an item that Anton gave our father,” Anna replied.
“Your father’s core team had a few people, and he shared with us your brother’s ability to bestow extremely powerful classes. Unfortunately, your father told us that Anton could only do so once a year. Captain Anders establishes a merit system, and after a year, the one with the most merit could try to request a powerful class from Anton if it’s available. Your father did mention that we will have to wait if Anton has already given the slot to somebody else. Still, based on what we’ve seen, your brother’s classes are truly powerful and would be worth waiting for. If that chance is given to me, I’ll choose the same class as your father’s. The captain’s abilities are truly extremely powerful!” Daniel said excitedly.
“We asked your father what other classes Anton can bestow, and after he received permission from Anton, Captain Anders shared with the two of us the classes,” Ingrid said.
“Just with the two of you?” Anna asked, and both Daniel and Ingrid nodded.
“Anton said that such secrets weren’t too sensitive anyway, since anyone could get a unique class scrolls from dungeons or ruins out in the field, so Anton could just say that the classes were from scrolls that he received from delving into the really deep floors of the high-level dungeon. It was true anyway that powerful people can get class scrolls from the deep floors of the dungeon; it’s just that extremely powerful people rarely delved into dungeons anymore,” Daniel said.
“Your father’s first class was from a scroll that dropped from such a dungeon. It was the Arcane Warrior. The captain rarely wields the power of the class anymore, though, since his Paladin class is truly unmatched,” Ingrid said.
“Captain Anders gave us a list of seven classes that Anton could give. I’m highly interested in the Amazon and the Assassin classes. Still couldn’t choose between them,” Ingrid told Anna.
Anna was a little taken aback that Anders’s vice-captains knew about Anton’s classes. That meant that she could not willy-nilly request a class change if she got tired of the Sorceress Class, because if she did, she would be depriving them of receiving a class from her brother.
“My dorm mates agreed to let me kill the monsters inside the dungeon, though. That meant that most of the experience points would go to me,” Anna apologetically told Daniel and Ingrid.
“It doesn’t matter too much since we’ll all be inside a dungeon party system and even the party members that didn’t do anything will still receive experience points,” Daniel said.
Soon, they arrived at the Goblin’s Cave dungeon. The students were grouped with the adventurers who would be guarding them. Fifty-two students received approval to delve into the beginner dungeon, so there were thirteen groups all in all. Not all of them would be on the twentieth floor. Some would be on the upper floors, but there would be no one would go deeper than the twentieth floor.
Because the Goblin’s Cave dungeon was an instance dungeon, it did not actually matter if they all went to the twentieth floor. They would not see each other inside the dungeon. Based on the information brochure that the academy gave them, each group would be spending three to four days inside the dungeon floors.
Anna’s group did not waste any more time. After receiving the portal key from the Adventurer Guild, they immediately entered the dungeon. Anna and her three dorm mates had some experience delving into a dungeon, so they knew what to expect.
The 20th floor of the Goblin’s Cave was a huge maze-like cavern. According to the information that they had read, even though the floor looked like a maze, they just needed to move forward, and they would eventually reach the hall that housed the “boss” monsters, which were the elite monsters of the floor. The term “Boss” came from Anton. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
They already talked about how they would proceed. Since Anna had requested from her dorm mates that she wanted to kill the dungeon monster and that they agreed, Daniel and Ingrid would be at the front line and would block the dungeon monsters, and then Anna would kill them off using her spells.
Thankfully, Avina, Normumu, and Alethea’s guards were fine with that tactic. They actually favored it since that meant that they would not need to work too much.
The maze-like path was bright enough. It had the sourceless light common to most dungeons. Daniel and Ingrid were at the front while Anna was following just behind them. Avina, Normumu, and Alethea were behind Anna, and the other two adventurers were at the back, protecting everyone from monsters that could attack them from behind.
The first group of monsters they encountered looked like ordinary goblins. Each of the goblins was holding weapons like swords and spears, which meant that they were more powerful than those goblins that could be found in the upper floors, which usually just wield knives and clubs.
