Robert Lancaster didn’t immediately answer his brother’s question. He leaned forward, poured himself some tea, and said with a smile, "Evander, Uncle is concerned about mom because he knows she suffered a lot when she was young."

Upstairs, Joseph Lancaster supported Violet Zimmerman back to the room, and the two sat down by the bed. Violet instinctively leaned her head on Joseph’s shoulder, her gaze forward appearing dazed, "Joseph, do you think we’ve made a mistake?"

Joseph Lancaster sighed, "Violet, don’t overthink it. Evander is still young and doesn’t know the circumstances from back then, which is why he misunderstands."
