Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1158 - 1153: Meeting the Parents (Part 2)
Half an hour later, looking at the cluster of villa-style buildings, Sophia Hamilton thought it was a neighborhood she didn’t know. When Evander Lancaster’s car arrived at the gate of the "neighborhood," the security guard opened the small window and stuck his head out, politely saying, "Second Young Master, you’re back?"
"Mm," Evander replied amiably with a smile, "Old Zhao, you’ve worked hard."
"It’s nothing," Old Zhao replied with a courteous smile, pressing a button to open the iron gate of the "neighborhood." Evander drove the Bentley slowly in, and Sophia turned her head in confusion, "Why did he call you Second Young Master?"
Even though the villas are inhabited by wealthy people, the guards wouldn’t randomly call anyone "Young Master."
When mentioning his identity, Evander’s handsome face grew solemn. He rested one hand on the steering wheel and reached the other out to grasp Sophia’s hand, tightening his grip before interlocking his fingers with hers.
Sophia was completely focused on the "Second Young Master" topic, so she ignored the intimate gesture with Evander.
The Bentley cruised slowly on the "neighborhood" roads. After hesitating for a moment, Evander said, "Sophia, I didn’t mean to hide it from you. Actually, every residence here belongs to my family. The Lancaster Family is a large household. Since my great-grandmother’s time, we’ve lived together, although the uncles each have their own lives, they all live in the same compound."
Sophia licked her lips and asked with puzzlement, "Are you saying all the people living in this villa area are your relatives?"
Evander...
He chuckled at Sophia’s naive understanding, but upon second thought, she was actually right.
The Lancaster compound would be considered a large family-style management in ancient times, and everyone who lived there was family. However, in modern society, it was indeed similar to what Sophia said. Although his mother still held the title of Lady as the family head, each household had its own company and made its own decisions. Apart from being relatives, there wasn’t much difference from an ordinary villa area.
As long as she understood it this way, she wouldn’t feel too pressured when meeting his mother.
Evander smiled and said, "Your understanding isn’t wrong at all."
"Oh, acting mysterious," Sophia turned back and flung Evander’s hand away.
The Bentley stopped in front of a small mansion inside the neighborhood. The two of them got out of the car one after another, looking at the building in front of them. Sophia licked her lips again. Even though she refused to admit they were dating, the thought of meeting his family still made her nervous.
"What’s wrong? Scared?" Evander walked over and stood next to Sophia. She withdrew her gaze and glared at him, refusing to admit it, "I’m not scared. I’m not your girlfriend!"
Evander chuckled and said nothing. In fact, he was a bit worried; all the previous blind dates his mother had introduced were daughters of compatible CEOs. He wondered if she would approve of him and the fiery pepper.
But regardless of whether his mother approved, Evander had already made up his mind.
Taking a deep breath, he grabbed Sophia’s hand and said, "Let’s go inside together."
This time Sophia didn’t fling away Evander’s hand. She touched her ponytail with one hand and asked him, "Is my hair messy?"
"No, you’re very pretty." Evander turned, placed his other hand on her shoulder, leaned slightly, and smiled.
"I know that myself; no need for your compliments!" Sophia replied proudly, holding hands with Evander as they walked toward the mansion’s door.
