Michael raised his brows at Victor’s words, as that was quite unexpected to him.

Back when they were in Drenn city, Michael could clearly remember that Victor always wanted to study.

Unlike Michael who had gone to the orphanage at the age of 14, having already finished middle school, Victor was taken to the orphanage when he was just 2 years old.

Of course, there was no way that the shadow assembly gang was going to waste money paying for his school fees so that he can learn.

In the end, the only education that Victor received was from the old couple, who usually took time to teach the kids when they could.

And occasionally, Michael would also teach the enthusiastic Victor, about some of the things that he knew from the days when he was still in school.

Victor had a thirst for knowledge, and was always seeking Michael out, and if Michael was not present, he would go to look for the old couple.

There was even this one time that he expressed his wishes to Michael, hoping that one day he would go to school.

And when they came to Brenton city, after being informed that he would finally go to school, Victor expressed his joy. According to the information that he obtained from the old couple, that night that they arrived here, Victor did not sleep due to how excited he was.

On the day that he began going to school, he was always enthusiastic, and according to some of the teachers, the information shared through the old couple, Victor was always unwilling to leave school and return home.

So, it was quite unexpected to Michael that Victor did not want to continue schooling. But even then, Michael was quite curious about what Victor wanted to learn.

Of course, he thought of the possibility that Victor might have been affected by peer pressure. Or maybe, he felt that being in school, there was a lot of things expected of him, so, the pressure was beyond what he could handle?

Regardless, he decided to hear what the kid had to say first. So, he asked, "Can you tell me what made you think about stopping going to school, and instead learning something else? And what is this ’something’ that you want to learn?"

"I-I... I just feel that some of the things that we learn in school, they are just a waste of time. I want to grow up fast, so that I can help you and grandpa and grandma.

But I cannot get a job unless I am 18. But most of the people, when they get to 18, they would be joining campus already. And because I started school late, I would only join campus after I am 25 years old.

I feel that I would waste my time learning for all that time. Right now, I believe that learning the basics should be enough, and I can start majoring on something else this early on.

By the time that I get to 18, I would be a professional in that field. And by then, it would not be much of a problem for me to be able to earn big money so that I can share some of your burden." Victor explained.

Listening to the logic of this kid, Michael was impressed. In real sense, some of the things that people learned in school, they ended up never using them in their entire lives.

But that did not imply that education was useless. In some situations, the knowledge that could be learned in school could be very useful. So, education definitely could not be ignored.

Nevertheless, the kid had a point. Learning the basics should be enough, at least, he should learn some of the things that can be considered compulsory.

And after that, it would not be much of a problem for him to focus on something else entirely. From his knowledge, Michael knew that Victor was quite bright.

Had it not been for the school regulations, it would not have been a problem for this kid to start at a higher level in school.

Most probably, he had realized that most of the things that he was being taught at school were just a repetition of what he had already been taught by the old couple and Michael.

Realizing this, Michael contemplated for a moment and asked, "So, what is it that you want to learn? Let me hear it. If it is something that can really prove useful in the future, I might help you out. But if it is not, then I’m sorry, you will have to go through the normal education."

He did not comment on Victor claiming that he would help Michael with the burden of supporting them. This kid, until now, he did not know that Michael was the owner of Starlight Restaurant chain.

Only those that were working there understood that Michael was the owner of the restaurant chain, which left them amazed.

On the other hand, the younger ones, they only knew that the old couple were working for someone, due to the arrangement that was made by Michael. That was why Victor was looking forward to start earning as soon as possible, so that he could help out.

"During my free time, I realized that I have great interests in computers. I want to learn how to create games, those websites that people use, and things like that." Victor responded without hesitation.

At the same time as he spoke, he gazed at Michael with hope in his eyes. He hoped that Michael would allow him to focus on what he was interested in, instead of forcing him through something that he felt was useless.

Michael was a little surprised by Victor’s response. Still, he nodded, thinking, with this guy’s brain, it would not be much of a problem for him to be able to learn about website development and so on.

"Fine, I will talk to grandma about this. On the other hand, while I will make arrangements for you to learn what you are interested in, there are some things that you cannot ignore.

Since you feel that there is so much repetition at school, I will arrange a private tutor for you. You will be taught according to your current knowledge level, so that you can improve your basics in every area possible, just like any other student.

But that will not be the main focus, as the tutor that I will arrange for you will also be in charge of teaching you what you are interested in. But let me make one thing clear, if it turns out that you cannot learn, then you better prepare yourself to get back to school.

And, while you will not be going to school, you will still be tested by your tutor. If you fail to learn what you’re needed to, you might need to go back to school. What do you say?" Michael eventually responded after contemplating for a while.

Victor’s eyes brightened at Michael’s response. He had believed that Michael would definitely agree to his opinion. Of course, he was nervous, as grandma Rebecca was extremely angry at him because he didn’t want to go to school.

But now, with Michael telling him that he would make arrangements for him to continue learning what he could learn at school, and learn what he was interested in, he believed that grandma would definitely agree.

"Thank you, brother Mike. I promise you, I will work hard, to make sure that I develop myself as soon as possible. Believe me, in just a few years, I will definitely be one of the top experts in the field of computers!" Victor said as he hugged Michael enthusiastically.

Michael on the other hand felt a little helpless about how ambitious this kid was. Did he know how many years of dedication the top experts in the computer field needed in order to reach their level?

Additionally, computer science was such a broad field. Here, paths branched into software development, web development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, networking, robotics, game development, data science, and mobile application development.

In this entire world, apart from himself and his bio humans, Michael doubted that there was any other person who had mastered all branches of computer science.

Just learning one branch was quite time-consuming, especially if one wants to get to the level of a professor in that particular branch. But with how fast Michael could learn, even without depending on the clones, just reading, with the help of the system in understanding the information, it was quite easy for him.

"Okay, now, go back to your room, stop staying out here. I will go and talk to grandma about this, then, I will make the arrangements. But remember what I told you, if you don’t perform, then just prepare yourself to continue with your normal education." Michael said as he patted Victor’s back.

As he released Michael, Victor vigorously nodded his head in agreement. Then, he swiftly rushed towards the apartment where he usually slept with a few others.

Shaking his head slightly, Michael went to look for Rebecca. And when he found her, he realized that she seemed to be in a bad mood. Most probably, it was related to Victor intending to stop going to school.

But the moment that Rebecca saw him, her face immediately brightened up. At least, every time that she saw Michael, she felt that most of the worries that you had would immediately disappear.

This kid, he was her pride. Even though he had achieved everything by himself without her support, at least, she had been part of his childhood, which was something that made her proud.

"That is quite an unexpected visit. What wind blew you over?" Rebecca asked with a bright smile as she stood up from the couch.
