Information to Mastery: Points Store System
Chapter 343: Troubled
The instant that he activated the telekinesis ability, Michael felt as though he could perceive things around him.
While this perception was not of the same level as vision or touch, it was just that he could feel the presence of something, and how it looked like, in terms of shape and size.
And as it spread out, Michael’s mind was suddenly bombarded by quite a huge amount of information, regarding the things in the surrounding 7 km².
Good thing though, within this residential community, there were not that many buildings, and neither were there many people. Otherwise, if he had been in a place like a mall, Michael had no doubt that the amount of information that would have appeared in his mind would have been enough to make his head ache.
Despite the amount of information that was suddenly appearing in his mind regarding the things that were within his perception range, Michael continuously tried to feel the items around.
Of course, he could feel the presence of the people around, but he did not attempt anything on them. Instead, he just focused on some of the items, such as small stones, potted plants and so on.
While he was still trying to ’observe’ the area around him using the perception granted by the telekinesis ability, Michael suddenly realized something amazing. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
That was, at first, the amount of information that had appeared in his mind at the same time was quite overwhelming. Even though his brain could contain quite a huge amount of information due to some mutation, maybe through the system, it was still a little overwhelming for all that information to appear at the same time.
But as time went on, Michael realized that he was getting used to the amount of information, and he could clearly feel all the movements made by anything within the range of his perception.
This discovery made him quite excited. Even though he was not going to use this ability immediately, it could be of great use in a situation where he had to pay attention to the movements of some people.
To understand how Michael was perceiving the things around him, it was almost the same situation where, as the invisible field spread around him, every object appeared in his mind as points of pressure, weight, and movement.
Large objects felt heavy and bright in awareness, while smaller ones felt lighter and less distinct. Moving targets stood out more clearly, almost like ripples inside the field.
A few minutes later, having cotton quite an understanding of the ability, Michael immediately decided to stop using the telekinesis ability.
After taking a deep breath, he thought, it would be much amazing if he could gain more abilities in the future. Now, the only thing that he could do was to wait for the moment that his body would adapt, allowing him to be able to take another mutation serum.
With the issue of the testing no longer being necessary, Michael decided that it was time for him to do something else. He needed to visit old man John, so that he could start making some arrangements.
Ever since they came to Brenton city, the relationship between Michael and the other orphans had grown kind of closer.
Even though they did not visit each other often, considering that most of the time, Michael was within the villa, busy trying to acquire SP, whenever he had a chance, he would visit the apartment where they stayed.
With the expansion of starlight restaurant chain, most of the orphans who were considered as adults, had decided to join it to work there.
Considering these orphans did not have high education levels, and had not been taught advanced skills, they thought, instead of spending more time to learn more skills, it would be better to work and earn money to support themselves.
It seemed that most of them did not want to be overly dependent on Michael. So, since there were job opportunities within the restaurants, they did not hesitate to take them on.
Of course, for those that were willing to learn some of the skills that could be useful in the restaurant, they would be trained by Benjamin personally, every time that he had a chance to do that.
Of course, with everyone working within the restaurant chain, their incomes were not low. But, none of them had really moved from the apartment that Michael had gotten for them when they came to this city.
It was mainly because Michael had already paid the rent for an entire year for those apartments. So, they wanted to stay for an entire year, before moving elsewhere, especially for those that wanted to settle within the city.
After getting out of the villa, Michael drove the Audi A8 W12, instead of the Porsche, as he felt that driving the Porsche would attract so much attention in the school district.
At a time like this, it was obvious that old John and the grown up orphans had all gone to work. But Rebecca stayed behind, in order to take care of the young ones, especially when they did not go to school.
It did not take that long for Michael to drive to the location of the apartment. And the moment that he parked the car, and went upstairs, he was surprised when he met someone unexpected.
It was still October, which meant that schools were still ongoing. But, why did it seem like someone had not gone to school?
With raised brows, he asked the boy with curly brown hair, "Victor, why did you not go to school today? Is there a problem?"
Victor, who had been idling about in the hallway, suddenly raised his head, looking at Michael with surprise clear in his eyes. Clearly, he had not anticipated that Michael would come here today.
"Brother Mike, you’re here!" Victor exclaimed as he quickly stood up from where he was seated. He wanted to rush towards Michael, but in the end, he stopped himself, as he bowed his head.
Looking at his reaction, Michael could easily tell that this kid was trying to hide something from him. This made Michael frown slightly, wondering, could it be that something had happened during the time that he was not here?
But that seemed to be impossible. After all, each of the kids and the old couple, they had a shadow guard to protect them. So, it would be nearly impossible for Victor to have faced a problem that put his life in danger.
That was of course unless it was something very ordinary, which the shadow guards would not involve themselves in.
Michael really cared about this kid. Back when they were in Drenn city, among all the other kids within New Day orphanage, Victor was the closest to him.
So, if there was a problem, Michael would really like to solve it immediately. Therefore, while gazing at Victor, he asked, "Tell me, what’s going on? Did something happen at school?"
"I... N-nothing happened." Without raising his head, Victor responded, but it was clear, he was hiding something.
This left Michael slightly displeased. This kid, did Michael not tell him that if there was a problem anyway, he should immediately tell him? Why was he trying to hide it?
And at this point, even though Michael had the expert level human insight skill, that did not imply that he had the ability to read what was on Victor’s mind.
At this moment, what he could tell was that Victor was kind of troubled. As for what kind of problem he was facing, it was impossible to tell or guess.
"Can you raise your head when talking? Additionally, I think that I told you that if there is anything that is troubling you, you can always tell me. Why is it that you’re trying to hide it from me? Do you not consider me as your brother anymore?" Michael asked, his voice slightly stern.
Victor immediately raised his head, as he not only trusted Michael, but also respected him deeply. Hence, the moment that Michael told him to raise his head, he immediately did so.
"I... N-nothing really happened at school." Once again, Victor stammered as he tried to respond.
"Then, what is the problem? It doesn’t necessarily have to be something that happened at school. It can be a problem that happened anywhere. As long as it is troubling you, tell me about it. Let me see how it can help you." Michael responded.
Victor seemed to hesitate for quite a while, but eventually, his expression shifted. Just by looking at him, Michael could clearly see that Victor seemed to be determined about something.
As for what could lead to Victor needing so much boost in his confidence to say it out loud, Michael was puzzled.
At least, he had been trying to create a good environment for the kids who went to school. That way, they would be able to get the knowledge that they needed.
Just as Michael was still puzzled about what was going on, Victor finally revealed what was on his mind.
"Actually, I don’t want to go to school. I feel that going to school is just a waste of time. Some of the things that they teach us at school, I already learned them when we were back in Drenn city.
I already told grandma Rebecca and grandpa John that I would like to learn something else, but they insist that I should go to school. Today, I did not go to school, which is why I’m sitting here. And grandma is angry at me because I did not listen to her," he said in one breath.
