Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself - Chapter 1038 - 1051: Uncle Mu
Lin Junyang has always been Mu Xingfeng’s tagalong, which is no secret. If Mu Xingfeng hadn’t had Liu Hu as his formal protector, I’m sure Lin Junyang would still be following him around like his little sidekick.
Others might not know Lin Junyang’s whereabouts, but Mu Xingfeng definitely would.
"Exactly, Captain. Without Captain Lin here, we can’t rehearse our performance," He Qing looked at Captain Tao and his group, singing with a booming voice, with a face full of regret.
That expression seemed to clearly tell him that it’s not that they don’t want to practice, but without one person, they simply can’t.
Mu Xingfeng checked his watch, guessing his wife would be back soon. Making a phone call to her in this auditorium was obviously unrealistic. Even with just four people, the noise here was at least 80 decibels.
"You don’t have to wait for Junyang; he’s with us," Mu Xingfeng said, greeting Li Dajun, and stood up.
"Hey, Captain, why does Lin Junyang get to be with you and your wife? We also want to perform with you, let us create a scene where all stars surround the moon."
Ding Liang said, making a gesture as if holding something in his hands.
Clearly, he was referring to themselves as stars and An Ran as the moon.
Mu Xingfeng opened his rough palms, his wife wouldn’t rely on these people to prop her up. If anyone is going to support her, it will be himself.
"We’ll dance, Junyang found a dance partner. If you can find female dance partners, I’ll take you too."
Saying so, without caring about the two who were left with mouths agape in surprise, he took out his phone, walked out while dialing.
"Old He, did I hear it wrong? The Captain said he’s going to dance?" Ding Liang blinked, confirming it was indeed their Captain who walked out the door.
He Qing also scratched his ear, though equally shocked, he nodded, "No mistake, I heard it too."
Outside the auditorium, Mu Xingfeng dialed his wife’s number, it rang a few times before the other side answered.
"Hello, husband, have you finished talking?"
Before Mu Xingfeng could speak, An Ran’s voice chimed in, crisp and pleasant, with a hint of joy, making one feel uplifted listening to it.
"I’m done talking, wife, where are you? I’ll come pick you up." Considering the commotion on the other end, Mu Xingfeng thought An Ran might still be at the market.
"No need, I’m almost at the Guard Team. I took a small motor-tricycle back, you head home first. Oh, and turn on the air conditioning, it’s sweltering."
"Alright, why don’t you cool off at the guard room at the Guard Team entrance, I’ll come get you soon."
Knowing An Ran fears the heat, Mu Xingfeng quickened his pace, heading home first to turn on the air conditioning, grabbed a sun umbrella, and headed downstairs straight for the front gate.
"Uncle Mu, Uncle Mu!" A tender child’s voice called out from behind.
Mu Xingfeng’s body paused upon hearing this call, turning to see Hairong not far away, looking at him with a face full of joy. Seeing him look back, Hairong spread his arms, sprinting toward him with little legs.
Behind Hairong followed Wang Xia, smiling softly as she walked toward him with her son.
Mu Xingfeng caught the running Hairong, though he didn’t lift him up like before, letting him hug his thigh as he gently patted his back, "Hello Rong!"
Then he looked at Wang Xia.
"What brings you to Nan’an?"
Though this Guard Team was where Haigang served when he was alive, Haigang sacrificed himself seven years ago and Wang Xia received the highest standard of bereavement allowance. In his impression, this mother and son pairing shouldn’t have any ties with the Guard Team anymore.
