Chapter 265: 3 Types of Invincibility, the Cyan Yuan Sect’s Attitude
’I have my panel and Potential Points, so the future is mine for the taking. As long as I keep a low profile now, the possibilities are endless.’
Therefore, Yang Chan constantly reminded himself to face everything with a level head. Even if his cultivation advanced rapidly, he had to stay true to his original goals.
A man should keep a low profile until his cultivation makes him invincible. And even upon reaching that stage, he had to consider what *kind* of invincible he was.
Was he invincible in the world? Was he invincible against the entire world combined? Or was he so invincible that nothing in heaven or on earth could threaten him?
These three types needed to be clearly distinguished and carefully considered. The first type, being invincible in the world, was strong, but he could still be surrounded and killed. So he couldn’t get arrogant. He had to stick to his principles and not give anyone the chance to besiege him, poison him, or use Hidden Weapons.
The second type of invincibility meant no one in the world was his match, even if they all teamed up against him. But that didn’t account for natural disasters like lightning from a clear sky, tsunamis, or tornadoes. Those were forces of nature, things beyond human power. In the face of that, he would still have to pay attention to the changes in heaven and earth and couldn’t afford to be careless. Otherwise, if the heavens decided they didn’t like him and took him out, that would just be terrible luck. So he must always maintain a sense of reverence.
The third type was when nothing in this world could threaten him, and the only thing that could kill him was the world’s destruction. Even then, he had to stay vigilant. Who knew if there were beings out there who could shatter a world with a single punch, destroying everything? In that case, he would still need the will to keep climbing higher.
Being invincible in just one world wasn’t true invincibility. The key was to never stop improving.
After all, he had transmigrated from another world, so he knew the universe was vast, containing many planets that could potentially harbor life.
The world he was in now was probably just one small part of it all.
The moon and the myriad stars in the sky could be Life Planets, harboring experts capable of destroying entire worlds.
Plus, there was always the possibility of world-destroying meteorites. He would need to be strong enough to survive the end of the world to be considered even remotely safe.
These thoughts surfaced in Yang Chan’s mind, making his attitude even more tranquil. He resolved to be even more low-key.
Having allocated all his Potential Points, Yang Chan decided not to stay up any later. Though he had no other missions tomorrow, he wouldn’t be idle. He still needed to prepare the materials for refining various Elixirs.
Yang Chan needed to refine several Elixirs: the Lantian Jade Refining Pill, the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill, the Guiyuan Pill, the Qi Replenishing Pill, and the Cyan Spirit Pill.
His supply of Lantian Jade Refining Pills and First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pills had been heavily depleted. He had prepared a large stock beforehand, but his stay in White Jade City had lasted longer than expected, so he had naturally used a lot.
Yang Chan didn’t plan on taking any missions, but refining Elixirs was something he couldn’t put off—not unless he was willing to accept a drop in his Daily Potential Point Collection.
He also had to prepare other medicines. Even though they weren’t difficult to refine and he had even restocked them in White Jade City, he naturally wanted to prepare more now that he was back.
To put it simply, he needed to replenish all the medicines he used, including ingredients like Dragon Bone.
The remaining task was to refine the Guiyuan Pill, Qi Replenishing Pill, and Cyan Spirit Pill—the three Elixirs that could increase his Daily Potential Point Collection.
Yang Chan had already planned out his time now that he was back, so he just had to follow his schedule.
He glanced at the night sky and didn’t linger on his thoughts any longer. Staying up late wasn’t a good habit, and he didn’t want to do it on his very first night back at the Cyan Yuan Sect.
...
Cyan Yuan Sect.
Qinghan Mansion, Bilin Courtyard.
This was the residence of Sect Leader Liu Xuan. His small courtyard was currently filled with people, all of them experts at the Inner Refining Grandmaster Level.
"Elder Ji, tell us about the circumstances of Elder Yan and Hall Master Qi’s departure, as well as the situation in White Jade City."
Sect Leader Liu Xuan asked.
In truth, Ji Feng had already sent a letter back to the Cyan Yuan Sect outlining the general situation, so everyone already knew the gist of what had happened. Now, Sect Leader Liu Xuan wanted to hear the specific details.
The disappearance of Yan Jinfeng and Qi Yuansheng was a huge blow to the Cyan Yuan Sect. The loss of Yan Jinfeng, an Advanced Pharmacist, was especially significant.
Currently, no Pharmacist in the Cyan Yuan Sect could replace Yan Jinfeng. Even their most outstanding Intermediate Pharmacist, Xu Gaocen, was still a long way from becoming an Advanced Pharmacist. Furthermore, his cultivation had yet to break through to the Inner Refining Grandmaster Realm, making his future path uncertain.
"In White Jade City, everything was normal at first. Then, one day, chaos erupted. We were attacked by a joint force of a local White Jade City power and members of the Celestial Sword Sect. They sent so many people that we nearly failed to hold our ground..."
Ji Feng began to recount the entire sequence of events in meticulous detail, even including some of his intuitions. The perception of an Inner Refining Grandmaster is incredibly sharp, making such feelings important; often, a great deal of information can be deduced from them.
He described the attack on the Cyan Yuan Pavilion and how their request for aid from the Pharmacist Alliance was rejected. He explained how Elder Yan and Hall Master Qi had evacuated White Jade City ahead of the others, and how no further word was ever heard from them. He continued, detailing how they allied with the other Major Sects to fight against the mysterious new power that had emerged in White Jade City. Finally, he spoke of how the chaos ended, their joint return with the Celestial One Water Palace and the Taiyi Sword Sect, their encounter with Gu An, and their eventual arrival back at the Cyan Yuan Sect.
Ji Feng recounted every part of the process in detail, not omitting a single point. It concerned Elder Yan and Hall Master Qi, so he was extremely thorough, even though he had a gut feeling that their chances of survival were slim.
Beside Sect Leader Liu Xuan, the Hall Masters of the various halls and several Elders listened, analyzing the situation in White Jade City based on Ji Feng’s report. They considered Elder Yan’s possible whereabouts, the stance the Cyan Yuan Sect should take, and many other issues.
"So the source of the chaos in White Jade City was the rebellion started by the Crown Prince. That’s more or less what we predicted, we just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. We even had Hall Master Qi tailing them in secret to prevent any mishaps, but it seems an accident occurred anyway."
"We’ve already dispatched disciples to investigate the disappearance of Elder Yan and Hall Master Qi. They will contact us using the Cyan Yuan Sect’s signaling method as soon as they have news. Hopefully, they can find them."
"As for the Pharmacist Alliance’s behavior this time, we must make them answer for it. The other Major Sects are surely dissatisfied as well. Elder Lü, I’m putting you in charge of this. Make the Pharmacist Alliance pay a price."
"As for the Great Zhou Imperial Dynasty’s Imperial Family, we must apply pressure there as well. The Court bears some responsibility for the Cyan Yuan Sect’s losses. Elder Xu, you will coordinate with the other Sects on this matter. However, be mindful of how far you push them. After all, that Martial Saint in the Imperial Family is rumored to still be alive. We cannot be too forceful."
"This excursion to White Jade City was a great failure. Does anyone have anything else to add? Please, speak freely."
After laying out these arrangements, Sect Leader Liu Xuan’s gaze swept over the Hall Masters as he solicited their input.
