Chapter 186: Extracting the Calamity Drake! Vampires Pour From the Sky, Allstar’s intention to witnesses History, Descension of the Ender

Caelus looked at the thing in surprise.

"Calamity drake? Interesting."

He hadn’t expected to see the corpse of a drake in here.

But he didn’t immediately begin extracting.

He used his mana buff, Open Up.

He pointed his finger to the sky and shouted. "Open Up!"

[Behold the Great Calamity that once plunged this world into chaos. It rests before your very eyes, a transcendent terror that sundered the boundary of realms to descend upon this world.]

[Unto the Planet, its very existence in these lands is deemed a profound aberration.]

[Yet, let no dread cloud your heart. The Founding Forefather of the Solaris Kingdom did clash with this monstrosity, shattering its essence and vanquishing it from this earth.]

[To siphon its lingering might is to seize unforeseen fortunes. Proceed with the utmost caution, for the catalyst of pure gold energy is demanded to invoke such profound strength. Tread lightly.]

[Once this ancient power is fully drawn forth, mystic and unfathomable abilities shall be birthed into existence.]

"What’s up with this buff speaking like this." Caelus’s lips twitched.

But at the same time, he was quite curious. The pure gold energy mentioned here should be the gold rank.

"But I already have the gold-rank combat score. It should work, right?"

However, he looked at the level up card, and then the ascension token.

In the end, he decided to duplicate them, got one more of each, and ascended to gold-rank.

He didn’t want to take any risks.

[Ascension Initiated.]

[Rank: Silver III -> Gold I]

[Level: 1 (0/200)]

[Your Divine Halo, Fighting Spirit, and Chaos Ring are being recalibrated.]

[+100, +2, +50]

[Your Region Domain buff of +10 is active.]1

[Your Chaos Faction buff of +11 is active.]

[+173 Combat Score]

[Ding! Your Combat Score exceeded the limits of Gold III]

[You have entered the ranks of Crown.]

[Ding! You don’t have a Crown. As a result, you don’t have the Crown/undying effect or the necessary power to withstand the crown-rank power.]

[Your Combat Score has been reduced.]

[Combat Score: 2.05 (Crown) -> 150 (Gold III)]

[Please achieve the crown effect/Undying Effect or reach Crown-Rank itself to breakthrough.]

"??" Caelus was baffled seeing this.

No undying effect?

What’s an undying effect?

Like, not dying?

He didn’t know much about Crown-Ranks aside from one thing. The monsters at the crown-rank had the ability to regenerate at terrifying capabilities, their cells just kept on regenerating.

Only a crown could kill another crown as a result.

He sighed. For now, there was nothing he could do about it.

He will figure something out later.

Then, he began extracting the corpse.

He received two notifications of extraction.

[Ding!]

[You’ve extracted the dragon energy left inside the corpse.]

[Your Chaos Dragon Body’s cooldown has ended.]

[The remaining dragon energy is being used to nourish your body.]

[Ding! Your combat score is at a bottleneck. Please get a crown.]

[The power has been safely stored into your system till you reach/obtain crown effect]

Just then, Caelus’s vision began to violently glitch once again. The same throbbing feeling from his neck arrived along with it, and his sight connected to somewhere far away.

The instant he saw it, his expression shook and a golden power deep within him begin to bubble.

---

"F-Father." Leonard greeted Azula, who was looking at the two of them with killing intent.

He didn’t even get to finish his sentence.

Azula swept his hand.

Boom!

Leonard was flung across the ground like a ragdoll, crashing into the dirt, blood spilling out of his mouth as he bled profusely.

"Brother!" Sylvia knelt down beside him, her hands trembling as she held him.

Azula looked down at the both of them with no change in expression. There was nothing there. No anger, no disappointment that reached his eyes. Just the flat, empty stare of a man looking at something beneath him.

"You left the castle saying you were going to study under Leonard." Azula spoke. "I am thoroughly disappointed, Sylvia."

"And instead, I find you here."

His gaze drifted to the bond mark faintly glowing on her collarbone.

"Forming a bond with a pathetic person with E-Rank Affinity."

"Do you understand what you have done?"

"Do you understand what punishments are awaiting you back at the castle for this?"

Sylvia’s grip on Leonard tightened.

"It seems like you have forgotten what happened to your mother and your siblings." Azula’s voice didn’t rise. It didn’t need to. "The consequences of defying me are not a simple thing, Sylvia. You of all people should know that best."

"Come on, Uncle Azula. Don’t be so harsh on her." A new voice cut in, light and unbothered. "She is my soon to be blood-bond and partner. Let’s just forget all this and take her back to the castle."

The one who spoke was Josiah Vance.

He was the younger brother of Orion Vance.

The Reign family and the Vance family had recently come into contact with each other, and as a result their relationship had improved. Josiah’s father had suggested a marriage to Azula. A marriage with the youngest of the Reign household, Sylvia.

Normally, Azula would have rejected this without a second thought. He valued lineage purity above all else.

But this was different.

Orion’s bloodline and his own were special. They both carried the saint bloodline. And Azula wanted to see what would come out of mixing the two.

He didn’t agree to it as a father arranging his daughter’s future.

He agreed to it as a man setting up an experiment.

That was the only reason Sylvia had any value to him at all.

And Sylvia knew about this too. She learnt about this from Leonard when he visited Fortis City for the first time.

On that note, It was a player association from some place called Golden Eagle City that had reported her whereabouts to him. They told him she was off in some backwater kingdom called Solaris Kingdom, training under the pretext of school, and that she had gone and formed a blood-bond with an E-Rank rat.

Azula glanced at Josiah, then back at his daughter.

"This is Josiah Vance." He spoke. "He is your new blood-bond starting now. We will return to the castle, and your blood-bond with the previous host will be removed through the blood ritual."

The instant those words left his mouth, Sylvia’s body went rigid.

The blood ritual.

She knew exactly what it was.

The ritual to sever a blood-bond was done using an artifact that reforged your lifeforce from scratch. During the process, both the one undergoing it and the blood-bond on the other end would be dragged through unimaginable pain.

Which meant Caelus would feel all of it too.

Her Caelus.

The thought of it made something inside her snap clean in half.

"No."

She rose to her feet slowly.

The blood-moon sword slid into her hand.

Then she turned the blade and pressed it flat against her own throat.

"If you take one more step towards me, Then your little experiment dies right here. I will open my own throat before I let you put me through that ritual. And you can spend the rest of your life knowing the saint bloodline you were so curious about bled out on the floor at your feet."

It wasn’t a bluff. Everyone could see that much in her eyes. She meant every word of it.

But Azula merely looked at her with that same dead, indifferent gaze.

He wasn’t moved by her threat or by the desperation underneath it.

Because he had never once in her life been moved by anything she did.

Seeing that look, something in Sylvia’s heart skipped in sadness.

She knew, deep down, that Azula had never loved her.

How could he? The man had no emotions to give. He wasn’t a father. He was a monster wearing the shape of one.

He had killed her mother and her siblings without a sliver of remorse, simply because they had dared to disobey him.

Ever since she was a child, this man had never once given her love.

Instead, he had spent her entire life taking the things she loved away from her. Her mother. Her siblings. One by one, until there was almost nothing left.

And now he had come for the last thing she had managed to claim as her own.

Her Caelus.

She wouldn’t allow it. Not this time.

Azula raised one hand.

Then he snapped his fingers.

The sky above them split.

Spatial cracks tore open across the sky, and from them, vampires poured out one by one, descending upon the central plains like a black tide.

It was only then that the others began to arrive.

Drawn by the tearing of space and the sheer pressure rolling off the descending horde, the Player’s association and the Holy Church both rushed onto the scene, taking in the sight before them. None of them were willing to be the first to move.

Among the Holy Church’s group stood Orion Vance.

Josiah caught sight of his older brother and grinned at him.

Orion only looked back at him with a worried frown, his lips pressed thin.

"If you will not come on your own." Azula spoke, his voice as flat as ever. "Then we will take you back to the castle by force."

"Don’t make this worse than it has to be, Sylvia. I would prefer not to drag you away in public, after beating you to a pulp first."

A shiver ran through every single person watching.

Wasn’t this man too cruel?

He would truly do such a thing? To his own daughter?

Did he see her as nothing more than a tool?

"Y-You bastard!"

Leonard forced himself up off the ground, his whole body shaking, blood still dripping from his lips.

"If you dare to take her away, then don’t expect me to just stand around and watch."

"I won’t let you harm my sister!"

Azula didn’t even turn his head fully.

"Do you want to die, Leonard?" He asked coldly. "Or do you simply want to traumatize your sister even further by making her watch it happen?"

Leonard’s legs buckled, but he didn’t fall.

Just then, a voice cut cleanly through the tension.

"I would suggest against that, my friend. Unless you love courting death, of course."

"But if I’m being completely honest with you."

"It’s already too late for that. You already courted death. It’s coming your way right now."

Everyone’s heads turned towards the source of the voice.

A man stood there, leaning lazily on a staff. He wore a pair of sunglasses over his eyes, and a green and white striped outfit that looked entirely out of place in a scene like this.

The instant Sylvia laid eyes on him, she froze.

"Allstar?!" She exclaimed.

The sword at her throat lowered an inch on its own.

"What are you doing in the real world? How did you cross over from the origin domain?"

The man was unmistakably Allstar. The NPC of the origin domain.

Everyone around raised an eyebrow at her bizarre words.

An NPC? Crossing into the real world?

Allstar let out a low chuckle.

"I’m here to witness history."

He raised his staff and struck it down onto the floor.

Tmp!

The sound was soft, but it caught every single person’s attention.

"I’m here to witness the Origin realize his own potential."

He smiled.

"A potential that can end the world and everyone in it."

Then he burst out laughing.

"Don’t worry, Miss Sylvia."

"It has already begun."

"Everything will be fine now."

BOOM!

The sky above them abruptly cracked.

The sun vanished from the sky as a terrifying, suffocating power came crashing down onto the central plains, wreaking havoc on the natural mana of the entire region.

Vampires froze mid-air. The Holy Church members staggered. Even Azula, for the very first time, turned his head towards the sky. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Allstar simply stared upward, his grin stretching wide, like a man who had bought a front row seat to the most beautiful show of his life.

"Because the Ender of Origin’s wrath cannot be stopped by this world."

"The irregular. The balancer of the six enders."

"The Force that once broke the barrier of time."

"The Seventh Ender."

He got 5 more from ascending to Tier 3 Kingdom
