Chapter 132: The Land of Snow! Frostbite and Elemental Reactions

"Let’s go, Sylvia," Caelus said as he stepped into the Origin Domain.

Sylvia followed closely behind him.

As soon as they entered, Caelus automatically received his 65 daily Resource Points.

[Void Trial is available again.]

He cleared the system message. Right now, his entire town had returned from their quests.

"It seems like everyone has safely reached Bronze I," Caelus smiled, looking down from the walls.

He swiftly drafted a region-wide announcement.

[Region Lord Announcement: Welcome back, everyone. I am glad you all made it out of the ascension quests alive. Congratulations on reaching the Bronze rank. Now, there are no more excuses.]

In the square below, the players looked up in pure excitement.

"It is all thanks to you, boss!" Sarah shouted from the crowd. "Your performance in the Ancient Domain opened my eyes!"

"At this point, he is the strongest in the world."

Caelus naturally heard the praises, but he did not let them get to his head. He knew he was still just a frog at the bottom of the well. So many mysteries awaited, and he was still far from truly strong.

[Region Lord Announcement: Enough praising me. The best way to help is by clearing out monsters in the Endless Expanse. With the Divine Regions gone, the spawning monsters should be of a weaker grade. Go out there, eliminate beasts, and gather materials. I will be heading to the Land of Snow to explore. Everyone else should prepare to explore it today as well.]

"Oh right. I almost forgot," Caelus muttered.

He had not claimed the 400 Chaos Points he earned from defeating Henry, the Half-Hollow.

"You got your Chaos Points too, right?" Caelus asked, turning to Sylvia.

"I did," Sylvia nodded.

Experience, Reputation Points, and Faction Points... they shared everything equally since they were both rookie gods in the exact same party. Her Combat Score also ticked up to 2.04 thanks to reaching level 2.

Caelus quickly sent out an automated invite for the Chaos Faction, detailing the massive stat perks.

The numbers skyrocketed in seconds. It was already 95% of the total player base in his Region Cluster.

"For now, let’s focus on the Land of Snow," Caelus said.

They immediately set off.

The Land of Snow was a highly unique, dangerous zone. When a player entered, a Frostbite progress bar appeared, along with an option to set a save point. If the Frostbite bar reached 100%, the player would instantly die and respawn at their save point.

If only one party member died, the survivors could find a Spirit Outpost hidden in the snow to revive them.

Normal spells and fire skills were entirely useless here. To defeat monsters, players had to use Elemental Reactions. For example, combining Water and Fire skills dealt massive elemental damage, hitting for double the base critical multiplier. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Soon, they arrived at the entrance. It was blocked by a thick, swirling, foggy barrier. Just standing near it made them shudder from the extreme cold.

Sighing, they stepped through the barrier.

A massive, storm-capped mountain loomed in the distance. Dense, snow-covered pine forests stretched out in every direction. Surprisingly, a calm and quiet background music drifted through the freezing air. The Origin Domain actually had its own BGM here.

Just around the corner, a man stood shivering in the cold. He wore a thick, ragged hoodie that covered his face. In his trembling hand, he held a lantern that cast a warm, flickering light over the snow.

Caelus and Sylvia approached him.

"Hello. We are new here. Do you know how to get to the Kingdom of Snow?" Caelus asked.

The hooded figure slowly looked up at the pair.

"I certainly can, wanderers," the man said in a raspy voice. "I will even give you a map to reach it safely without succumbing to the Frostbite."

"But before that, you must complete my quest."

Ding!

[Quest Initiated.]

[Objective: Eliminate three Frost Bears, harvest their Frost Cores, and summon the Divine Frost Giant. Deliver the final core to the mysterious figure.]

[Reward: Calculated upon completion.]

[Your minimap has been updated.]

"It seems like both of you wanderers are at the Silver rank. I have pinpointed the exact location of Silver rank monsters in the southern region. Please head there immediately."

Just then, the crunching of snow echoed from behind. Several figures walked through the barrier.

"Player 555," Isolde sneered. "Fancy meeting you here."

She looked visibly furious.

"You dared to harm royal kin? You have a death wish, do you not?"

"Do not act cocky just because you have a Silver Combat Score," Isolde spat. "I possess one as well."

She proudly unleashed her aura. It sat at exactly 1 Combat Score of the Silver I tier.

"So?" Caelus looked at her strangely. "Quite honestly, I am not really surprised. Princess Bubblegum also had a Silver Combat Score."

"Don’t put the princess’s name in your mouth. You are nothing compared to her," Isolde sneered. "You are just a lucky frog in the well. You must have stolen a god’s inheritance to reach your current power."

"But we Royals are vastly different from you. We know the secrets of this world." Isolde pointed aggressively at the hooded figure. "I will finish this quest before you simply because I possess superior knowledge of this area. You will lose Player 555. I will show the world that you are nothing against us. People in the internet has been comparing you to the royal family player’s. But i will show them the truth."

"On that note, Do not think the Royal Family will let you go just because you defeated a Null Player. You tried to murder Sebastian. Luckily, he had a life-saving treasure, or he would be dead for real."

The two quiet lackeys standing behind Isolde stepped forward. They unleashed their auras to look as menacing as possible.

"How about we both have a little battle instead, Miss Isolde?" Sylvia stepped forward. A completely cold, deadly smile formed on her face. "I do not like the way you are talking to him."

"Oh? And what are you going to do?" Isolde asked arrogantly. "Mind your own business, girl. My enmity is solely with Player 555. Do not butt in."

Sylvia’s red eyes flared. She was instantly enraged.

However, before she could summon her weapon, Caelus grabbed her shoulder and stopped her in her tracks.

"The two lackeys behind her," Caelus whispered strictly in a hushed tone. "They have a Combat Score of 10 at Silver I. They are definitely Regressors."

Regressors were veterans who intentionally descended back to lower-tier worlds to act as bodyguards or guides for VIPs. Their combat scores were hard-capped, but they possessed immense battle experience.

Sylvia froze instantly upon hearing this.

"We will deal with them once we farm enough essence," Caelus spoke softly. "Be patient."

Soon, even more players arrived at the NPC’s location.

"It is Player 555."

Cyrus, Ryan, James, and Theron stepped through the barrier. Behind them trailed a large group of elite players from the Royal Capital server.

"What are you doing wasting time with him, Sis? Let’s go complete this quest," Ryan said, glaring at Caelus. "Player 555. You are mine to hunt. Let’s see who comes out on top in this Quest."

The hooded figure looked at the massive gathering of players and spoke up.

"Everyone, please queue up. I will give each of you the quest. Whoever completes it first will receive a highly valuable extra reward."

"Let’s go, Sylvia," Caelus said.

These royals clearly knew about this quest beforehand, most likely guided by their Regressors. He had to act incredibly fast. He could not let them finish the quest before him. Every instinct told him that he had to claim that extra reward.
