Dungeon Of Greed
Chapter 44: The Witch doctor
[Goblin: 0% (Tier II)]
Seeing the 0% counter, Dhruv tried pushing it to its limit. But the moment he sacrificed a monster, the progress didn’t go as well as he planned.
[Goblin: 0% (Tier II)]
Even after sacrificing a monster, the percentage didn’t move a bit. Just for checking purposes, he sacrificed another warrior, but the percentage remains the same.
Is it that it can’t go up anymore... no, that can’t be. Ohh!! I get it... to increase the percentage, I have to sacrifice a tier II monster.
He was right, the dungeon has extracted all the information for tier I from the cores with nothing more to add. If one wanted to move forward, they have to sacrifice tier II beings.
Nodding his head in understanding, Dhruv resumed sacrificing the monster. This time, turning them into points. What was disappointing was that the monster only gave one-third of their summing dungeon points.
The warriors had cost 3 points for the summon, but now it was only giving 1 point back.
[Dungeon points: 1617]
It’s not much, but it’s better than 1000 at least. I can summon quite a few of them with this much. Opening the administrative panel, he went on and clicked on the summon monster. Instead of a list, two options appeared in front of him.
[Available: [Goblin Tier I], [Goblin Tier II]]
’Ohh! So I can still summon tier I monster... well, that’s good to know.’
As Dhruv clicked on the second option, a list of monsters appeared in front of him.
[Goblin Women: 5 DP]
[Goblin Brute: 5 DP]
[Goblin Lurker: 10 DP]
[Goblin Hexer: 12 DP]
[Goblin Witchdoctor: 15 DP]
[Goblin healer: 20 DP]
[Goblin Bonebreaker: 25 DP]
[Goblin Venomclaw: 25 DP]
[Goblin Spellshard: 50 DP]
[Goblin Siegebreaker: 50 DP]
[Goblin Warshaman: 50 DP]
[Goblin Dreadcaptain: 150 DP]
[Goblin Soulreaper: 250 DP]
[Goblin Worldbreaker: 500 DP]
[Goblin Queen: 500DP]
[Goblin God-Blessed: 1,500 DP]
The list is small compared to the first tier. Will the number continue to dwindle with each tier?
Seeing the list, Dhruv was a bit disappointed but understood that there had to be some sort of limit imposed upon. If not, one can easily abuse these things.
Sighing, he glanced in a certain direction in the room.
There, in the corner, lay a crimson egg pulsing as if it were alive. Dark veins bulged across its surface while something sinister moved within.
If someone watched closely for long enough, they would notice strange engravings slowly appearing across the shell.
Before summoning the monsters, Dhruv wanted to consult with Lucian, but not knowing how long the evolution would take, he turned his attention back to the list and started reading their descriptions.
[Goblin Women: Although not strong in battle, a goblin women have high fertility rate and can birth multiple babies in a single session. If deprived of sex for long enough time, they can turn feral and go on a rampage.]
’What the fuck man...’
Frowning, Dhruv was laughing on the surface, but deep down, he couldn’t help but curse himself for becoming the master of such a weird race of monsters.
Can’t they just make me the master of dragon... maybe elves not scratch that even fucking slimes would’ve been good compared to whatever abomination these things are.’ Glancing at the description, he shakes his head.
’In no way in hell I’m going to summon this...’
Moving forward, he read the descriptions of the Goblin Brute.
Goblin brute is better than warriors, but is it twice as much better... hmm!! I don’t think so...’ Shaking his head, he skipped the brute, and he clicked on the Lurker.
[Goblin Lurker: Evolved from his days of scouts, the lurker has shed all instinct for noise and visibility. It moves faster than the eye can comfortably follow and vanishes into shadow mid-stride. Prey rarely knows it is there until it is already bleeding.]
’A scout so it can work as my eyes as well...’
Thinking, Dhruv remembered the problem with the scouts; they were perfect for a surprise attack and keeping track of things, but once exposed, there was almost no guarantee of them coming alive from it.
The scouts had really low defense, and from the stats Dhruv was looking at, that problem has been fixed a little with the lurker.
’Let’s see ten of them will do for now...’ Adding ten of the lurkers to his cart, Dhruv moved to the Hexer.
[Goblin Hexer: A goblin with a natural, untrained gift for curses. It flings bolts of mana that can rot flesh and shatter minds. The wound infected with a curse refuses to close.]
’I can have one or two to bring down some really defensive humans by using its trait of not closing wounds...’ Keeping it in mind, Dhruv moved on the doctor.
[Goblin Witchdoctor: A spiritual leader draped in fetishes and its obsession with experiments. It can commune with dead spirits to curse enemies with visions, weakness, and madness. The only problem spirits like to avoids its sadistic bastard.]
’Fucking weird monster..’ Frowning, he inspected the healer.
[Goblin Healer: Not wanting to see the death of his kind, a mage decided to embark on the path of finding the limits of one body. It can stitch wounds mid-battle with impossible speed, purges venom, and keeps its allies on their feet well past the point they should have fallen.]
’Hmm!! This is what I need at this moment...’
After learning about its skill, Dhruv was even more sure he needed the healer for the betterment of the dungeon. Because the cost was too high, he could only summon ten of them.
So the Bonebreaker and Venomclaw are just the evolved versions of the goblin warrior...just that they are specialized in their own forte. Not bad... but nothing that makes me want to buy them. Warlord is still better than them, even with its high cost.
[Goblin Spellshard: Experimented on by the witch doctor, a rune stone was fused in his body without his permission. Turning the curse into a blessing, the goblin can now channel raw elemental force into its skin. The stones are slowly killing it, but the monster does not seem to care.] 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
’What a sadistic bastard this witch doctor is... how can he experiment on his own kind?’ Reading the description, Dhruv couldn’t help but become a bit sympathetic with the Goblin spell shard.
He wanted to summon one of them and just beat it to death just for the love of the game.
