Chapter 187: Crystal Chest Loot

[Since the strongest in the Millennium Vampire War Station were only at Mid Diamond rank, you and the others didn’t expect to get a Crystal Chest.]

[At most, you expected to get several Diamond Chests, and it would be lucky if there were relevant items that could even be obtained from Diamond Chests.]

[You had obtained Diamond Chests before in the Millennium Vampire War Station and opened them. It was during the time before the departure of the train since you had used your multiplication avatars and your Absolute Compass to locate those hidden treasure chests.]

[Even then, the Diamond Chests and Platinum Chests you acquired had duplicate items to the ones you had plundered from the treasury of the royal vampire clans.]

[The only good thing you acquired from those treasure chests was Seven Circle Magic Spell books, as well as magic research theory books and even an Eight Circle Magic Spell Scroll.]

[It was due to those that your magic research for the Eight Circle Magic spells didn’t take that long. They had helped in reducing the time it would have taken if you didn’t have those.]

[After the world will’s quest settlement notification, you and the others soon saw a Crystal Chest appear in front of you.]

[The Crystal Chest was icy blue in color, glistening with a lustrous crystal and glassy surface. As soon as you saw it, you didn’t hesitate and immediately opened it!]

[-Ding!]

{You have opened a Crystal Chest and received the following contents: ...Late Crystal-grade Magic Blood Staff, Mid Crystal-grade Crimson Ring Of Lifesteal, Train Ability: Magic Thorns, Train Ability: Blood Harvest, Train Module: Lifesteal Blood Bat Nest, Train Module: Mana Reservoir}

[You ignored the miscellaneous materials and focused your attention on those valuable items.]

[Using your Train Conductor Authority, you checked the item descriptions for each of them.]

{Magic Blood Staff (Late Crystal): A staff created through blood magic rituals, formed from condensed crystal-grade materials and infused with the essence of countless living beings. It is mainly used by mages who specialize in blood-attributed magic due to its compatibility with vitality-based casting.

Effect 1: Converts the user’s health into mana at a highly efficient rate. The lower the user’s health, the greater the amplification of spell power.

Effect 2: Blood-based spells and abilities are amplified by x15. All blood-attributed magic spells gain enhanced potency, range, and control.

Effect 3: The user can extract and manipulate blood from nearby injured targets, shaping it into weapons, constructs, or spells.

Effect 4: Each enemy slain restores a portion of the user’s health and mana. Excess restoration is temporarily stored as a blood shield.

Effect 5: Allows the user to enter Blood Dominion, a state where all surrounding blood within a wide radius falls under the user’s control. Duration and effectiveness scale with Spirit and Physique. Prolonged use may result in mental instability.}

{Crimson Ring Of Lifesteal (Mid Crystal): A ring infused with refined blood essence, commonly used by close-combat fighters and blood-type ability users. It enhances survivability by converting inflicted damage into vitality, making it especially effective in prolonged battles.

Effect 1: Converts a portion of damage dealt to enemies into health. Lifesteal efficiency increases with higher damage output.

Effect 2: When the user’s health drops below a certain threshold, lifesteal effects are significantly amplified.

Effect 3: Grants minor blood affinity, allowing the user’s attacks to interact more effectively with blood-based abilities and effects.

Effect 4: Excess healing is converted into a temporary vitality shield. The shield dissipates after a short duration if not consumed.

Effect 5: Killing an enemy grants a short burst of regeneration and increased lifesteal efficiency. Duration scales with Physique.}

{Magic Thorns (Ability): When the train is attacked, magic thorns will appear around the train, which will pursue, entangle, and kill the enemy. It uses train fuel to power up the magic thorns, and the more train fuel allocated to it, the greater the durability, speed, and sharpness of the magic thorns.

By default, the train will passively possess the Thorns effect. Attacking the train, regardless of the type of damage, will inflict on the attacker a rebound damage equal to 30% of the damage dealt. Moreover, the train will passively possess 30% damage reduction.}

{Blood Harvest (Ability): The train will automatically clean any blood near it by absorbing and devouring it. Any bloodshed outside the train (can be toggled to permit inside as well) will be harvested by the train and be used to repair its durability. If the train’s durability is full, it will instead convert it into train fuel.

The train crewmates of the train possessing this train ability will receive a passive buff of 20% lifesteal on their attacks. Not only that, by default, the train crewmates will not die of blood loss and will also have a minor increase in blood recovery.}

{Lifesteal Blood Bat Nest (Late Crystal-grade Train Module Blueprint): A turret-type train module formed from condensed blood essence and crystallized organic matter, taking the appearance of a pulsating nest inhabited by numerous blood bats. Once installed on the roof of a train carriage, the nest will continuously produce and deploy blood bats that act as autonomous attackers.

The blood bats will automatically identify hostile targets and swarm them, dealing continuous damage through bites and blood extraction. The damage inflicted is converted into vitality, which is then transferred back to the train or a train crewmate in need, allowing sustained combat even during prolonged engagements.

The number of blood bats generated depends on the available energy and the nest’s internal capacity. Destroyed blood bats can be regenerated over time by consuming energy from the surroundings. If the energy consumption exceeds the gathering rate, the module will draw from the train’s fuel.

Moreover, the blood bats can track targets over a wide radius and will continue pursuit even if the train is in motion. Their movement is highly flexible, allowing them to intercept fast-moving enemies or swarm large groups simultaneously.

Due to the nature of the Blood Bat Nest, the more targets that are bleeding or injured within its range, the stronger the blood bats become, increasing their lifesteal efficiency and attack speed.}
