Jessie narrowed her eyes in displeasure. "Young man, you will be held responsible for your words. Old Wei is the only one who can save my husband right now. If you truly offend him, can you bear the consequences?"

At this, a smug expression appeared on Old Wei’s face. "Madam is indeed a reasonable person, unlike some young upstart making baseless accusations and tarnishing my good name!"

Zheng Fei also stared coldly at Chen Xiao. "So, according to you, since I invited Old Wei, I’m part of the problem too?"

"That, I wouldn’t know," Chen Xiao sneered.

Jessie frowned. "Kani, please see your friend out. We can’t have him disturbing Old Wei’s treatment."

Li Kani hesitated for a moment before saying, "Mom, Chen Xiao wouldn’t say something like that without a reason. Dad has seen so many doctors without getting any better. Could it be that he really was afflicted by some kind of strange poison?"

The blood seemed to possess some strange magic. It instantly corroded his skin, turning it a terrifying, deathly black. Then, Li Kani and Jessie watched in horror as a swarm of tiny insects crawled out from Old Wei’s body and scurried everywhere.

"It seems your little Gu worms are getting a bit disobedient," Chen Xiao said with a mocking smile.

Old Wei’s face went deathly pale. "What, exactly, is this stuff on my hand?"

"Guess," Chen Xiao chuckled.

His blood possessed the purest, most potent yang energy, while these Gu worms were creatures of yin and malice. Once Old Wei’s hand was tainted by it, the worms naturally flew into a frantic, uncontrollable state.

Zheng Fei’s gaze hardened as he stared at Chen Xiao.

Old Wei sneered, speaking each word with chilling clarity, "Kid, you’ve got some nerve. You know I’m a Gu Master, and you still dare to provoke me? It seems you have no idea how terrifying we can be! Now, if I want you to die, you die."

Chen Xiao remained utterly unafraid. "Is it possible you’re overestimating your own abilities?"

As he spoke, he gave his body a slight shake, and the corpses of countless Gu worms rained down at his feet.

Old Wei’s expression changed dramatically!

"You didn’t really think you cast your Gu without anyone being the wiser, did you?" Chen Xiao regarded Old Wei as if he were watching a clown.
