Chapter 29: The Town of Horrors. Part-4.

"Ugh... to think that so many houses will have nothing edible in them! Sigh! Is it all because I am too unlucky or someone has already looted it all before me!?"

Sitting on a crudely made seat that he made from a random stone that he picked up from somewhere, Zephyr couldn’t help but curse his luck.

Two days had already passed since that day.

He arrived in this destroyed town two days ago, and to his dismay, even after exploring several houses and huts, Zephyr didn’t find a single good thing!

The only saving grace was that he actually managed to find some small cooking utensils and a kitchen knife.

Most of the household utensils in the town here were too massive for him, as they were more suited for giants.

But after a two-day-long exploration, he managed to get his hands on some small ones that were roughly only as big as his body.

These small utensils were crudely made, and Zephyr suspected that these were likely toys for the children of the giant people, but since they were useful to him, he didn’t bother looking at how they were made.

"Thankfully, I managed to find some decent meat to eat..."

There was actually a big chicken that was stuck in a cage inside one of the huts and was already starving to death.

With Zephyr being hungry for almost five days now, he was already starting to lose his patience, so the moment he saw the chicken, he broke into the cage and snapped the chicken’s neck instantly.

Then he used the knives he found earlier to cut out a large portion of meat for himself, lit a fire, fixed a metal pole that he broke from the chicken cage over the fire, and hung the meat on it.

It took five days’ worth of effort to finally find something to cook for this one meal.

There was no seasoning; there were no spices or even salt, but Zephyr wasn’t concerned about all that in this moment.

He was going insane from hunger and didn’t have the luxury to look for salt and spices at this moment.

The cooking skills he learned from his days as a chef in a café back on Earth came in handy at this moment, and he properly cooked the meat before putting it all in a pot and eating!

The moment Zephyr took a bite, tears appeared in his eyes as he smiled like an idiot and declared,

"This is the best food I ever eaten in my entire life..."

The food wasn’t even properly cooked, and yet, it tasted as sweet as honey to him because of how hungry he was.

The juicy flavor temporarily quenched his thirst and made him feel happy from the deepest part of his soul!

[Rollling_Crocodile: Haha, look at him being so emotional over a piece of chicken meat... sigh... I feel sad for him... sigh...]

[Invincible_Bob: What’s there to be sad about? This is a moment to celebrate! Our tank god has survived for five days!! The number of people who have managed to survive this long can be counted on the fingers of a single hand!!]

[Shining_Lorraine: That desperate struggle to find food, that desperate journey just to get a single piece of meat... sigh. Only after seeing all this have I come to realize how easy my daily life have been...]

[Blue_Dinosaur: Indeed, the struggles of college studies and the struggles at work all seem so meaningless and insignificant in the grand scheme of life that it’s mind-boggling...]

[Invincible_Bob: I have decided... I will go confess to my crush tomorrow in the morning. After seeing the anchor struggle and finally achieve his goal with his hard work, I am feeling motivated... we only have one life; can’t let it go to waste!]

[Shining_Lorraine: @Invincible_Bob, go, brother, go! The blessing of the great Tank God will be with you!! I hope you succeed!]

[Inivincible_Bob: @Shining_Lorraine, Thanks, brother! I appreciate your support...]

[Blue_Dinosaur: Our tank god now has a large source of food. That chicken is so big that he can eat it for several months! Anchor has the potential to break the one-week survival curse that no one has been able to break until now!]

[Rolling_Crocodile: Indeed, no one has passed the seven-day mark until now, but our anchor is already on day 5. At this rate, he might really cross the seven-day mark soon! I believe in him!]

While eating to his heart’s content, Zephyr scrolled through the comment section for entertainment and felt happy seeing the notification that reminded him that his BP had increased once again.

[Ding! Congratulations, people’s belief in you has deepened! You gained 100 BP!]

[Ding! Congratulations, people’s belief in you has deepened! You gained 100 BP!]

[Ding! Congratulations, people’s belief in you has deepened! You gained 100 BP!]

The number kept increasing, and soon enough, he once again had enough to do a new pull.

[BP: 13,400] 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Originally, Zephyr was around 17000 BP when he first arrived at the town two days ago and found the armor.

But as his search went futile for almost two days, Zephyr bought a hint from the system, and the hint specifically told him to go into the hut that had the dying chicken stuck inside it.

This saved Zephyr several more days’ worth of effort, as the giant town was insanely massive, and it would have taken him an entire month just to explore it all!

’A single hut here is about a kilometre wide; exploring the entire town would have taken too much time, and by the time I would have found this chicken, I would have starved to death...’

Although buying a hint just to find food seemed very wasteful to him, there was no other choice at hand.

He had no guaranteed reward pull chance at hand, and he was sure he wouldn’t be able to pull anything decent without a guaranteed chance, so he decided to go with the hint instead.

"Man, this is so delicious, I feel like I can eat it forever-"

Before Zephyr could complete his sentence, an unfamiliar voice suddenly entered his ear and startled him.

"Hoh? Is it really that delicious?"
