Broadcasting Live From Inside An Eldritch Horror Game
Chapter 27: The Town of Horrors. Part-2.
The armor was strong, highly resistant to damage, and even had a little bit of self-repair capability.
’So, mana and magic do exist in this horror game world after all...’
In the past years, most players have died on the very first day, and even those who managed to survive for a week never got to come in contact with magic.
If they could learn magic, perhaps their survival chances would have increased by a lot.
’If there is mana in the air, then how come I can’t sense it?’
’I have a powerful physique and an extraordinary perception ability, yet... I don’t seem to be able to sense mana at all... Do you need some other kind of talent or skill to sense mana?’
The questions and mysteries regarding this horror game world were too many to count, and there was no way to find answers for these questions at the moment either.
Thus, Zephyr could only shake his head and stop thinking about the matter for now.
’Maybe, I might be able to pull some mana-related skill from the lottery in the future...’
While thinking about various things, Zephyr thoroughly searched the entire shelf for anything else that might be useful, and he discovered that the doll he had stripped of its clothes was actually a humanoid skeleton covered in cotton.
’Poor fellow... got reduced to a plaything of others even in death...’
To this, Zephyr could only shake his head.
Seeing that there wasn’t anything special there, Zephyr hung his gas mask around his waist and decided to get to work.
He had no such high-fantasy things like a space ring or system inventory, so he had no other choice but to physically carry everything with him.
The mirror and the other items were too big for him to carry around with him all the time, so he had to reduce the size of the items to what he could carry.
Taking a long and sturdy leg bone from the humanoid skeleton buried in the cotton doll, Zephyr covered it in cotton and then rolled a lot of thread over it tightly.
The thread spool was the size of a one-story building, and the thread was as thick as half the width of his arms!
Thus, Zephyr couldn’t possibly carry much of it with him, but it was a sturdy thread that could come in handy in the future if he needed rope, so Zephyr didn’t want to leave it behind like that.
Aside from the cotton, some tissue paper, and the thread, Zephyr smashed the mirror with a punch and took a small broken piece for his own personal use.
Finally, using the thread and cotton, he made a rough bag and bound it around his back to carry it all with him.
After he was done with the preparations, Zephyr pushed the doll down from the shelf and climbed down using the thread from the spool.
The giant needle that was as big as a house was used like a nail by him to bind the rope that he would use to climb down.
Once back on the ground, Zephyr dug out the entire skeleton from the doll, used this shield to dig a small grave, and buried the skeleton inside before slightly bowing to the grave and speaking.
"Brother or sister, I do not know who you are or were in the past, but your armour is useful to me and can protect me from the difficulties I might face in the future..."
"So, I have no other choice but to take it. In return, I have decided to give a proper burial. may your soul rest in peace and you live a better life the next time..."
After praying, Zephyr spent two minutes of silence for the other party so that the other party’s soul would find peace in the afterlife.
Although Zephyr himself didn’t believe in the existence of souls and ghosts, this was a fantasy horror game world; anything was possible in this horrific place.
Zephyr was already unlucky enough; he didn’t want his armor to bring him disaster or attract the dead spirit of the previous owner.
Moreover, giving the previous owner of the armor a burial was his way of showing the people in the livestream that he was a kind-hearted person.
[Blue_Dinosaur: Man, no matter what you say, our anchor is a good person... he even gave the skeleton of a stranger a proper burial...]
[Invincible_Bob: Indeed, only those that have a righteous heart are worthy of having immense strength. Perhaps the main reason our anchor is so strong is because the game world has realized his greatness! All Hail The Tank God!!]
[Shining_Lorraine: All Hail the Benevolent Tank God!! Despite himself being stuck in a desperate situation, he was still able to remain kind and benevolent! I have decided; I have become a loyal fan of this anchor from now on!]
[Invincible_Bob: Go ahead, our great tank god; even if you end up dying in the end, I will always remember your greatness!! All Hail the Tank God!!]
Seeing that the result brought by his decision was good, Zephyr felt happy in his mind but maintained the solemn expression on his face.
[Ding! Congratulations! Many people have been impressed by your benevolent charisma and have started to take interest in you!]
[Ding! The faith of many of your followers has deepened after seeing your benevolence!]
[Ding! Congratulations! You have gained 5000 BP!]
’I knew it!! Hehehee!!’
Zephyr felt so happy that he almost felt like he was going to faint from happiness.
’It turns out that I can manipulate the public opinion to earn points in this way too... well, if I end up finding more skeletons or similar opportunities in the future, I should use them to harvest more BP! Hehehe!!’
Zephyr did feel bad that he was taking advantage of everyone, but he was stuck inside a world where incomprehensible horrors ran rampant.
For the sake of his survival, Zephyr had to be selfish and take advantage of all the tools that he had available at the moment.
Even if he had to resort to deception and manipulation, for the sake of survival, he was ready to do it.
