[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go - Chapter 246: Ch : Victim of Circumstances
"Huh-? A-Alright?"
The officer looked confused as Shuu stood up and grabbed Rin to walk out. He noticed how the other officer laughed at the one who tried to flirt with him and made fun of the officer.
Rin was quiet this whole time, but his eyes were looking at Shuu with an intensity he had not seen Rin show before. For some reason, it scared Shuu a little and he decided to ask Rin what was wrong.
"Did something happen, Rin? You have a rather scary look on your face."
Shuu asked as he held Rin’s hand tighter. But Rin did not say anything at first and tightened his hold even more around Shuu’s hand. He also looked away to show that he did not want to speak at first.
But his eyes kept telling Shuu that he had something he needed to say.
Shuu was patient with Rin and that gave Rin enough courage to reach out toward him and grab his shirt.
Expecting eyes looked at Shuu and he waited for Rin to say what he needed to say. He waited and waited until Rin finally found the courage to open his mouth.
"I-I don’t like people trying to get close to you. They don’t seem like nice people. A-And we have a family already. We need to be loyal."
Shuu blinked at Rin in a shocked manner. He had not expected the kid to say this in his life, especially not at this moment and at this place.
Rin looked at him with expecting eyes, but the longer Shuu went without giving an answer back, the scarier Rin looked.
Fear was the last thing anyone should be feeling when looking at a kid. But somehow, Rin made it work with the over-powering feeling he gave off.
Shuu sighed as he looked at the kid and then placed his hand on his shoulder. Not only did that make Rin’s expression softer, but he also dropped the air of danger around him.
"It will all be alright, Rin. I have no intention of getting along with someone who is not Kaiden, no matter what. My family is you, Caelis and Kaiden, and that would not change."
Shuu promised and Rin’s tension eased just a little.
He still did not go back to his trusting self, but he did look a little more relieved compared to before.
"I-Is that so? In that case, I will take your words for it. Can we also get some ice cream while heading home?"
Rin asked and Shuu let out a small laugh as the atmosphere turned normal once more.
"Of course. We can have anything you want to have. Don’t be shy and tell me all you want to have, alright?"
Shuu asked and Rin nodded before he grabbed his hand.

"Caelis, someone is here to take you home, so you can leave now. But make sure to be careful next time and don’t cause others trouble. Do you understand?"
Caelis looked at his teacher with annoyance in his eyes. He did not like her and she was not earning herself any favor by doing this to him.
The only one allowed to be this rude or punish him was Shuu.
’I don’t like her. I really don’t like her. But I shall tolerate her for the sake of finding Shuu and Rin.’
Now that Caelis was convinced that he had seen Shuu, he had even more reason to stay at the academy. And to do that, he needed to pretend he had enough self-control over himself to not cause lasting damage.
He could not allow Shuu to think he was not civilized or had regressed in any way.
Caelis did not look at his teacher when he left, but he was sure he could see the grin on her face as he walked past her.
As he walked toward the gate, he felt the teacher following him not too far behind. He could imagine her having that smile on her face that irritated him, and he wanted to snap at her. But then he saw his father’s face and he decided that his father could deal with her.
"Father, you are here."
Caelis’s voice was the most dry and annoyed he had ever spoken. But no one seemed to catch on to it (except Kaiden). Caelis made sure to smack himself right into Kaiden’s legs so that his ’father’ would have a hard time getting away.
Kaiden wrapped his arms around Caelis as well, but it was more to steady himself than an affectionate gesture.
The teacher also caught up with Caelis and watched him wrap his arms around his father. It brought a flush to her face as she looked at the handsome father in front of her.
Her sudden tongue-tied nature and her flushed face made her feel different from the person who had just given Caelis detention, and he felt his dislike rising.
Kaiden, on the other hand, had dealt with such two-faced people a lot. So he knew how to handle this female as well.
He forced his face to smile and flashed her one as well. The girl became even redder and she hid her face in her hand.
"Excuse me, miss, but are you Caelis’s teacher? I hope he has not troubled you too much. He is just acting out right now because his mother is not home."
Kaiden kept his voice clear to not leave any misunderstandings.
"O-Oh-! Is that so? So he is doing this because his mother is away...wait-! You are married, sir? But I have never seen your wife...?"
The teacher asked, trying to wrap her head around this new piece of information. Her world seemed to be shattering the more she spoke, and Kaiden smiled at her.
"I don’t usually wear my ring on my finger because it can get in the middle of my work. And as for Caelis’s mother, of course she exists. It’s just a pity that Caelis inherited nothing from my wife except his eyes. I would have loved to have a mini version of my wife with me."
