Apocalypse Lord
Chapter 210 - 150: Racing Against Time
Almost at the same time as Lulin Port and Camelot Port were attacked, the frontline news was transmitted to the Sun Mine by local intelligence personnel.
Lin Lan leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and his consciousness connected to the Divine Kingdom of the Sun.
At this moment, a phantom map of the Divine Kingdom unfolded before his eyes. Most of the mine map was dim, and the exploration team of the Ark had only illuminated a small corner of its edge.
Vera’s ’Deep Space Probe’ also broke the shackles in the future, and the base station signals could completely cover the entirety of Ark Island. Any soul entering the Divine Kingdom would be guided by the base station coordinates.
Several flickering points appeared on the Divine Kingdom map, with some texts noted beside them, detailing the functions and environments of the entry points, as well as the quality of ores that could be produced at each location.
Lin Lan focused his attention on the ’Intelligence Exchange Point’, and in the next second, the point zoomed in suddenly, and the young man stood on a warm and peaceful open ground.
Familiar figures emerged around him as the managers of Ark Kingdom quickly gathered in this area.
Everyone wore an expression of solemn tension.
"The situation is largely like this, the Alliance Legions launched an attack on our coastline without warning."
A moment later, Ed, with a grim expression, recounted the situation on the frontline: "Camelot Port and Lulin Port have turned into ruins under the fire of the Magic-guided fleet, and all the stockpiled goods on the docks that couldn’t be moved in time were destroyed."
"What are our casualties?"
Lin Lan asked softly.
Even though his tone was calm and unwavering, everyone present couldn’t bear to meet his cold and deep eyes.
"The medical staff equipped by the Civilian Corps are currently taking statistics."
Ed replied: "The situation is not optimistic, Lord Lin Lan. Even though the Civilian Corps rushed to initiate rescue operations amidst the fire, many Ark Kingdom citizens working at the docks and foreign sailors lost their lives in the first wave of shelling."
"Those were shells infused with Magic Power, meant to deal with the Imperial Legion and Gray Realm Sea Monsters..."
Charles muttered in disbelief: "And they used such firepower on defenseless civilians."
"Why would the White Oak Governor make such a decision..."
Old Dean’s expression became dazed, his fantasies shattered, as he asked harshly: "Does the Alliance Fleet have any intention of talking to us?"
"We still haven’t received any messages."
Centurion Colin, stationed at the island’s Northern Border, shook his head weakly: "And the sea has turned into an eerie flower field, with ships attempting to approach the Alliance fleet getting dragged into the sea by the flower branches."
The Pure Beauty Sea Waves also struck the coastline of the Northern Border.
Colin spoke weakly: "Many flower monster seeds have parasitized the bodies of the civilians. If not for the fact that those branch monsters are inherently afraid of Sunlight Flare, the civilians around the docks might have been completely slaughtered by them."
This Sun Warrior looked extremely dispirited, and in the real world, his body was already battered and torn. Yet Colin and the militia armed with Ash Soil weapons bravely resisted the Sea Monster’s assault.
"However, the Alliance Fleet did not take the opportunity to continue shelling the towns outside the port; instead, they aimed their guns outward."
Colin continued reporting: "They do not allow foreign merchant ships carrying food to approach the shore."
"The Commercial Union obviously plans to wear us down!"
Charles instantly deduced the Alliance’s intent, clenching his fists involuntarily: "They will watch us gradually succumb to hunger and exhaustion, ultimately taking control of and swallowing up the most critical port cities of Ark!"
The atmosphere among the people turned silent for a moment.
Reality is often more absurd than drama.
The always brutal and war-loving Northern Empire unexpectedly sent envoys to seek the possibility of coexistence. In contrast, the Southern Alliance, which pursued unity and ideals and even signed a Cooperation Letter with Ark, was the first to betray, firing the first shot to incite hatred.
The Alliance Legions arrogantly stationed their ships right under Lin Lan’s nose, as if absolutely confident in the power disparity between the two sides. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
As it appeared, this was indeed the case. Ark Kingdom couldn’t muster warships, let alone proper large merchant vessels.
People instinctively observed the outwardly youthful Ark Leader.
Fortunately, from beginning to end, Lin Lan’s face showed no hint of panic, nor did he fall into a rage over the Alliance’s brutal atrocities. He just patiently listened to everyone’s speeches, his expression as calm as ever.
The managers inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. There’s no denying it; this Apocalypse Lord has a wondrous ability to put people at ease.
"Twisted branches full of flowers that can parasitize human bodies..."
The editor-in-chief of Ark’s newspaper, Sean, fell into contemplation, furrowing his brows: "Is this what the Alliance Legions command as ’Sea Waves’? It sounds like a Celestial Calamity..."
"Because they are a Celestial Calamity."
Lin Lan spoke flatly: "That’s why Sunlight Flame can ignite the flower seeds."
"How is this possible?!"
Old Dean’s expression became one of astonishment: "Celestial Calamities are the archenemies of civilization, and all Alliance Legions have participated in training against them, so how could they end up mixed together with them?"
"In fact, there is competition among Celestial Calamities as well, and some entities may even cooperate with national authorities to devour civilization."
Lin Lan shook his head, ending the topic: "But you don’t need to know so much right now."
