Chapter 433: Talent Rank Up
Chapter 433: Talent Rank Up
"For that issue, the researchers came up with a solution—to install a cooling system. For that, they formed a magic circle inside the middle compartment between the suction cup and the rotating ring. But once again, just one cooling mini magic circle, an application of ice magic, was already using 1% for the lowest possible quality magic circle. Any more than that, and it would jeopardise the recharge time. But the generator also required nearly 15 to 20 such magic circles to be effective on all the MMCs fitted into the rotating socket ring."
"Thus, the solution was the rotating ring itself, which used another magic circle for rotation, costing another 1%. A few more magic circles, like stabilisation and balance, were used to complete the generator; this brought the total to 7% without any ice magic circle."
"But now that there was a rotating ring, there wasn’t any need to cool everything at once. They placed 3 magic circles in the middle compartment at regular intervals that cooled every MMC socket. Thus, at 10% energy cost, the generator was created."
Leo nodded, understanding only half of it.
"In the future, if you want, you can stop the ring and put in more MMCs—it doesn’t need to be the same Peak 3-star ones... I know they are costly. You can even use 4-star ones, though don’t go for 5-stars, since they wouldn’t recharge." The man chuckled nervously after saying that. Even as a joke, he felt like Leo might actually try to fill it with 5-star ones.
He then looked around, trying to sense the mana density.
"For now, the previous density was enough to maintain this generator, but this also means your original mana density in the territory will become negligible. The members might start complaining, so I suggest you buy or gather more natural treasures. Lastly, build a proper enclosure here so that people don’t wander in by mistake. That middle compartment is very delicate, and any damage might cost you over 1 million AC to repair... and also the teleportation array area—build a proper structure around it."
The man kept offering suggestions as Leo listened.
Territory members would complain?
He thought about the elves, the siblings, Brok, and the three girls.
The elves wouldn’t complain for sure. The siblings would also be fine. As for the three girls, Leo could easily imagine Lily handling them if they raised their voices. The only one would be Brok with his stupid comments, but even he would hesitate when Lily was around.
Well, low mana density will also slow Lily’s spirit beasts’ growth and our recovery time; I guess I need to get them either way, Leo thought as he walked back towards the teleportation array after the man completed the connection with the waypoints.
Leo had once again used [Mist Shroud], but this time spared the man’s neck.
As they reached the teleportation array area, the man examined everything once again, ensuring it was in order. Then he brought out jade tokens and began carving patterns similar to the teleportation arrays. He made a total of 10 jade slips and handed them to Leo.
"The cost was covered in the 1 million charge. These jade tokens act as coordinate markers for your territory’s teleportation array. When wanting to teleport here from any other array, just hold one in your hand while doing so—if there is no operator. If there are others with you, hold their hands too. And if there is an operator, just show him the token once and take it back."
"You can get as many duplicates made as you want at specified locations in the Aurelius Hall. As a matter of fact, just scan this token with your smartphone, and your phone will work as the token. It will also make it easier to pay the travel charges inside the academy."
"If you want to come back into the territory from outside the academy, at that time you’d require the jade slips."
Leo nodded and did as instructed.
Ting!
>Teleportation Token: Leo’s Territory, registered.
Leo also noticed on his smartphone map that the teleportation array was now marked, along with the academy’s array, which had automatically appeared.
"So... I just need to click the location on my phone while standing inside the array to teleport?"
"Yes, the array is connected to your phone because of that compartment there," the man said, pointing at the section that acted as a power storage unit.
Leo nodded. It was quite simple. Because of this, he wouldn’t need a dedicated technician. He also noticed that a new section had opened in his territory management app, allowing him to set teleportation charges. There was even an option to exempt certain people from fees.
After that, the man finally gathered the courage to introduce himself.
"By the way, I am Oman, pleased to make your acquaintance." His tone came out slightly squeaky—more suppressed and timid than he intended.
Leo was internally amused. He had fully expected the man to leave without even introducing himself, given how on edge he had been since stepping into the territory. Even now, Leo could sense the man’s unease—he could feel Shyra lurking nearby, though he had no idea what it was.
The reason Oman could sense Shyra’s presence was because she allowed it—as a tease, like a predator toying with prey. Otherwise, as a pseudo 4-star stealth beast, there was no way a man barely at mid 3-star rank could ever detect her.
Leo shook his extended hand, and after the brief introduction, Oman practically fled through the very teleportation array he had built—ironically proving just how well it worked.
As a token of thanks for the generator installation, Leo didn’t charge him the 1600 AC. Though the installation itself would have cost around 50K to 100K AC, the rest of the value had already been claimed the moment Oman attempted to establish acquaintance with Leo.
Knowing a High 4-star being—or rather, what others perceived as a Low 4-star—was no small thing.
Leo was practically an honoured guest wherever he went.
With this matter settled, he finally went to check on Aeila and the Titanbreath Lotus.
The treasure had ranked up, and in the process, it had even elevated Aeila’s [Spirit Link] talent.
And it wasn’t that Aeila had the potential for a higher talent rank—as a common soul bearer, she was capable of reaching a 5-star talent—but since it had originally been a 3-star talent, that should have been her limit.
Yet somehow, the talent had ranked up.
It was unprecedented.
